I wanted a second opinion with some construction plans that were done for me for a pre fab backyard studio. John reviewed the plans and gave me great advice in regards to the foundation and type of roof. John was very knowledgeable and with his help I was able to make changes to the lay out of the studio that I would not have been able to do myself. I really enjoyed working with John. He is professional, reliable, prompt and a super nice guy.

We recently had an issue with a damp basement that several people had looked at, but no one could really solve. John took the time to look at all the possibilities and, in the end, got the right people in to solve the problem. What makes Oborne Contracting truly special is John Oborne and his team. In a world where everyone always seems too busy to get into details and explain things without jargon, they stand out. Working with them, you always feel like someone genuinely cares about solving your problems and not just completing a project. I can’t say enough about their professionalism, knowledge and level of customer service. Next time, they’ll be my first call.

We needed a 2nd floor bedroom addition fairly quickly due to baby #2 on the way. We met a number of contractors - John gave us a ton of information right away and was the only one to give us a list of references from every single client they've worked for over the past few years. The work started on time, and our foreman, Jim was AMAZING. He is professional, knowledgeable and a perfectionist. His attention to detail is like no other. He didn't consider the job finished until every single detail was perfect. Overall, considering I was at home dealing with a newborn and a major renovation, it didn't feel intrusive at all. The guys onsite were all very professional, safe, quiet, and detail-oriented. They left the site spotless everyday. Not only did the project come in on budget but any concerns I had were always dealt with immediately and I always felt confident in the work being done. Thank you John, Carl, Hans, and especially Jim for ensuring our reno went smoothly. We can't say enough good things about our experience with Oborne. We are so happy with the addition and would use Oborne again for any future projects.

We needed to have a load bearing wall removed. We met with a number of contractors, but just didn't feel comfortable with any of them until we met John Oborne of Oborne Contracting Inc. John and his staff are very knowledgeable and skilled professionals. We were especially impressed with Johns foreman Jim. Jims attention to detail, his strong work ethic and his patience towards others less knowledgeable far exceeds the industry average. They not only do a great job, they clean up any mess and don't leave things laying around. We would strongly recommend Oborne Contracting Inc. and will hire them again if the opportunity arises. John and his team did a great job designing and replacing the trim around our front door, as well as some repair and painting work inside our home. They were very professional - always showed up on time, worked very clean and responsive to emails and phone calls. Would highly recommend.

FANTASTIC! That sums up our experience with Oborne Contracting. We renovated our basement - put in a new rec room, bathroom and laundry room. The entire renovation went smoothly - on budget, on time and amazing outcome! We were very impressed by John and his company from our very first meeting, and the quality time he spent with us and his detailed contract. John had a clear vision of our project and made many creative and practical suggestions to maximize our space both functionally and aesthetically. From that point on our experience was exceptional. The communication with Lori is excellent with keeping paperwork etc. on track. Everyone that worked in our home was very professional, knowledgeable and dedicated. Thank you to Ken, Troy, Colin, Dean, Carl and Wally. Ken and Troy's expertise is outstanding, and they were at our home every single day of the project like clockwork. Their worksite was kept remarkably clean, and more importantly - safe. Ken kept us informed on the progress and was available to meet with us whenever needed. They are very flexible and always encouraged our input to ensure our complete satisfaction. Ken and Colin are quick problem solvers and concerns were always dealt with immediately. They are extremely conscientious and take great pride in their final product. That makes for a fantastic experience for everyone. We are thoroughly enjoying our new space and look forward to future renovation endeavors with Oborne Contracting.

We used Oborne Contracting to put a much needed pantry into our kitchen as well as to finish the floor and walls in our laundry room. From the first time that John came to our house for the quote right through the end of the job we found everyone at Oborne to be a pleasure to deal with. Our work was completed faster than we expected and it was very reasonable. That being said, the best part about dealing with Oborne Contracting was the attitude of everyone that we came in contact with. Our foreman, John, was great. He took the initiative to find out our son's nap schedule and do the noisy work around that to prevent us from having to deal with a cranky kid. We will definitely be using Oborne Contracting again in the future for our next project.

Had my washer serviced by my extended warranty plan. However, the company refused to restack the washer and dryer after the repair. Since I had John and his crew do work in my place previously, I called on them again. As usual, they were on time and they put everything back together again perfectly. These guys are reliable, professional and they always do a fantastic job.

We cannot say enough good things about Oborne Contracting. This was our second foray into home renovations. The first was to finish our basement (with another company) which was a complete disaster. From the first time we met John, we were very impressed with his professionalism and kindness. These traits were prevalent in all the Oborne staff that we came in contact with. This was especially evident when our foreman (John) went out of his way to plan the noisiest parts of the job around our son's nap time without us even having to ask him. Communication was always easy and they were very prompt with replies to any questions or concerns. Even though our project was not the biggest or most expensive, we were always made to feel as if our job was just as important as any of the bigger renovation type projects. We are thrilled with the final results and they will be our first phone call for any future projects we wish to do to our house.
