I have been working with John for the last 12 plus years, so when I needed work done at my own house I knew who to call. Ken and Colin where a pleasure to deal with and answered all my questions and concerns. I had them open the wall between my kitchen and family room to create a more open concept. I have had an amazing experience with Oborne Contracting. John Oborne was patient and thorough in explaining the contract details as we planned the project. He was a pleasure to work with, and he helped me with some of the planning decisions I had to make. I loved how detailed the contract was which helped me to make decisions about what to do and not do. The project lasted four months, and I continued to work in the upstairs of my home while the renovation continued downstairs. I had braced myself for a tedious time, but the professionalism of the crew made this as pleasant an experience as one could expect for a renovation. Dean and his crew were fantastic. They were all professional and hard working, attending to details I might not have noticed. Despite the changes in the plans along the way, they finished on time. They also had incredibly high standards – which was a delight compared to my prior experiences with people who worked on my house. Carl worked so hard throughout the project, and always with a light-hearted attitude and patience – even in the cold. Kent helped me with the paint and always had a corny joke to tell which lightened the stress of watching the demolition part of the job. Dean – I want to thank most of all for his kindness, patience and professionalism. He helped me when I had trouble with my architect; he was always patient explaining things and had a profound sense of professionalism in his work. I could not have asked for a better experience and the results are fantastic. I love my new home! I cannot recommend Oborne Contracting highly enough. Thank you to each of you who helped renovate my home.

We selected Oborne after talking to numerous contractors and we have never regretted our decision. The entire team were fantastic to deal with, frequently going above and beyond and making the experience as pleasant as possible. Workmanship was excellent. scheduling was tight, and ideas were exchanged frequently. Specifically, I need to highlight the work and personality of Dean, the foreman and our primary contact. What a great guy. As we lived in our home during the months of renovations, Dean and team respected our privacy, our ability to access our temporary living areas and often helped with little things to lessen the inconvenience. When we met John, he presented us with many ideas we had not considered, many of which we incorporated into our final plans and design. Oborne's work for us included work on three bathrooms, our entire main floor, half our basement, and gutting our kitchen. The work was internsive including floors, walls, ceilings, plumbing, tiling, and electrical. The workmanship is exceptional. Any issues during or after completion have been immediately addressed and feedback from overyone who has seen the work is glowing. So often you hear renovation horror stories. Not in this case. The experience could not have been better. Without hesitation we would recommend Oborne Contracting and Dean. In fact, we can't wait until we have them back for more work on bedrooms and master bathroom.

Working with John and his team was great! Oborne was not the cheapest quote for finishing our basement but we decided to proceed and very happy we did. We recently renovated our basement from 1200 sq of nothing into 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, laundry room, furnace room, utility room, full kitchen, storage room, walk-in pantry and family room. Prior to the work starting, John, Dean (the site foreman) and Colin (project manager) all met with me to review the scope. This was great because it allowed everyone to be on the same page with respect to the project. Dean and Kent was on site everyday like clock work and was very involved in the overall process by offering advice and helping me make critical decisions. Dean and Kent really made my experience positive and easy by going above and beyond my expectations. I must say, this was by far the most stress free home renovation I have every been through. Dean did a great job managing the trades, construction site, work progress and made sure everything was spotless everyday. Dean really made the process easy and stress free. John has a very dedicated, talented and involved team. Quality of craftsmanship and the teams work ethic was paramount. I would not hesitate to recommend Oborne Contracting to any of my friends or family. Great Job Guys!!! We are very happy with how everything turned out.

My experience with Oborne contracting was extremely good. Their communication (both with John and Dean) was top-notch. The work they did was done quickly and with attention to detail and quality. Even after the job was done, John was willing to talk and advise me on maintenance and other things I had questions about. Before the work started, John advised me on who I had to contact to get a building permit, and also provided assistance with the application itself. I consider this above and beyond what he had to do, and was invaluable for someone new to the process. On the first day of work, John was on-site to introduce me to the foreman (Dean). Colin was also here to make sure the drawings and plans were well understood. When the work did begin, Dean was attentive to any questions I had, and was even happy to step aside for a minute when I wanted to take a picture of the in-progress work. Dean organized both the initial and final building inspection, and waited patiently for the building inspector both times. After the work was completed, John came over and spent an additional 20-30 minutes with me, answering all questions I had, and even providing useful advice on things I hadn't thought of. I can't exaggerate how good the communication with Oborne was, that alone makes them worthwhile. I will definitely be calling John again when I need more work done, this was by far the best experiencing with contractors I've had.

John and his company are very resourceful, respectful and friendly to have working for you. They work around your time schedule. John and his company have done a number of projects for me for 6 years. I cannot say enough about John and his company. I would recommend this company anytime for any job.

I had John and his crew back again to replace the flooring in my condo. His guys are quick, efficient and have a really good eye for detail. His workers are very good and very professional. He was able to match the laminate and find it, even though it had been discontinued. I wouldn't hesitate to contact John for my next reno job.

I’ve lived in old houses in downtown Toronto for a long time, and I’ve had a lot of renovations done in my day. If only I had known about Oborne Contracting from the beginning!! On just about every dimension I can think of, John Oborne and his merry men provided service and workmanship that was head and shoulders above that of any other company or contractor with whom I have worked. In this case, the project involved demolition of an old front porch and its replacement by a new one. In his initial visit, John listened carefully to what I wanted, made his own thoughtful suggestions, and then provided a detailed estimate for what we had agreed on. Once the contract was signed, the work began immediately—on schedule—and finished on schedule. During the construction period, there were workers present every day, from early morning until late afternoon—none of this here today, gone for two days, and then back again for a day or two. They cleaned up after themselves every day. They were pleasant and helpful (e.g., moved garbage cans back to the side of the house after collection). John was also very helpful in suggesting other trades (painter, stoneworker). The finished porch was just what I had hoped for it to be, and the project was completed with none of the angst and aggravation that had accompanied many of my earlier (non-Oborne) projects. I have already recommended Oborne Contracting to friends and will definitely use them myself in the future.

We had a couple of small jobs we needed completed but wanted to make sure they were done correctly. John gave a very professional impression and detailed quote. Dean did a great job. The work was completed as scheduled. A bit more expensive than others but worth it. We would use them again.
