    Wildlife Control

I used Gates previously when I had a bird problem so it was natural that I call them when I thought a squirrel/raccoon problem. They did a through inspection and let me know that I had no problem and help put my mind at ease. I would definitely call them if you have any concerns with wildlife problems. You will be glad you did.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Denise, I love your endorsement..."I would definitely call them if you have any concerns with wildlife problems. You will be glad you did." We take pride in offering an honest service and do enjoy seeing the relief on our customers face when we tell them "you don't have a wildlife problem." While even though we don't always have the chance to provide service, our goal is to build trust so our customers feel confident in recommending us to family and friends. Thank you for your review. Animal control

We have occasionally heard a small animal scratching beneath the floorboards. Two days after my call, a technician arrived as scheduled; a complete inspection was made of the outside and roof areas; we were informed that there were no access points visible, and the animal was likely a mouse travelling via heat ducts. Very pleased with service; will certainly recommend Gates Wildlife.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Kendon, as you found out noises in the attic or walls of the house can be caused by a number of different animals. Usually only after a detailed inspection of the house in question can the species be identified. In your case with no entry holes on the roof and the specific location of the activity we were able to determine it was mice. Thank you for taking time to write a review and for any future referrals. 3 Racoons removed from old chimney

We had 3 racoons living behind our walls in an old chimney. We could hear them and wanted to get them removed as safely as possible. The racoons had also caused lot of damage in our top deck (from where they used to enter their home in our old chimney). We had tried every trick in the book - but the damage and noise continued. Then we called AAA gates and Joel was assigned to our project. He was extremely efficient and so quick! Not only did he make our top deck look like new, he also removed all 3 racoons without without any issue. Some of the work he did was when we were not even home! For something that had bothered us for over 4 months - he made sure everything was taken care of under 2 hours. We were very impressed and it has been 2 months since our service and the racoons have not bothered us at all. Our home is now, finally, raccoon free. Thank you. Niyati (Beaches, Toronto)

    Answer from pro:

Hi Niyati, it is unfortunate that you had to live with your raccoon problem for 4 months. You are not alone, many of our customers are hopeful that the animals will move out on their own and but it rarely happens. Thank you for taking the time to compliment Joel for solving your raccoon situation in an efficient manner. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Raccoon in Attic

After hearing the running noise in the nights, I looked up my trusted home improvement website, HomeStars, and called AAA Gates Wildlife Control. Tony came. He spotted the entry point right away. After checking for other entry points and weak points, he explained what needed to be done and the breakdown of the costs. Out of caution, besides dealing with the entry point, I also go for the options to screen off all roof vents as well. Seeing that I still worried a lot about the attic, Tony also offered to take a look at the attic to put my mind at ease. In the evening, the raccoon left through the gate set up by Tony as expected. Then Tony came back a few days later to remove the gate, screen off the entry point and deodorize the area to prevent other raccoon to enter the attic. Tony was professional and he was very pleasant to deal with. He patiently answered our questions and set the right expectations. We will definitely recommend AAA Gates Wildlife Control if anyone looks for help with wildlife control.

I particularly like your comment regarding how Tony "set the right expectations." It is extremely important to us that our customers are kept informed about how the job will unfold, what to expect during the process and how the job is progressing. Thank you for your business and for your willingness to recommend our services. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Raccoon in Attic

My problem was a raccoon in my attic. I called AAA Gates Wildlife Control and their service from beginning to end was excellent. The raccoon had gained entry from a roof vent. A day earlier my neighbour had advised me that a roof vent was slightly pried open (assumed it was the wind) and I promptly climbed up and pushed down the cover. That night (and all night), there was nervous pacing on both sides of the second floor bedroom ceiling. First thing in the morning I called AAA Gates WC, and fortunately Chris was able to arrive within an hour. Chris was very friendly, knowledgeable and competent. He assessed the situation (actually first tried to shoo it away but without success), provided recommendations, a written estimate, and efficiently completed the work which included securing all the vents with screens, except the entry vent where a one-way door was temporarily installed complete with a makeshift ladder for the raccoon to more easily climb out. Early that night the raccoon exited the attic. A day later, Chris returned to secure the last vent. I was very pleased with the work done by Chris and AAA Gates Control. The approach and humane methods they employ are efficient and effective. I will definitely call them again if necessary and I highly recommend them. PS. It is amazing how easily raccoons can remove roof vent covers (even without damaging them); I would recommend that you have them secured permanently if raccoons are near your property.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Gino, WOW! What a thoughtful review. Thank you for mentioning how vulnerable roof vents can be on a home. Unfortunately, not too many people call us to secure their roof vents prior to having an animal problem. I also appreciate the time you took to explain in detail how the job unfolded and for praising Chris for a job well done. I am glad we were able to help out in such a timely fashion. Squirrels in the wall

Couldn't sleep at night...Called Gates and Chris came over identified and resolved the issues! No more squirrels in the walls and attic...Great Job!!! Would definitely recommend GATES WILDLIFE CONTROL...The family can sleep peacefully again. Thanks Chris!!

    Answer from pro:

Hi Peter, thank you for mentioning the fact that the animals prevented you from getting a good night sleep. Anyone that has had children can identify with how bad sleep deprivation can be. When the animals are scampering above your head in the attic, it is only natural to wonder "what are they doing up there?" Your thoughts soon go to the possibility of chewed wires and damaged insulation and then there is little chance of a restful sleep. I am glad we were able to restore peace in your home. Thank you for complimenting Chris and for hiring our company! Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Squirrels and Chipmunks in Attic

We had rodent problems in our roof and found out that the made their way into our attic--we could hear them in the walls as well of our two story 30 year old home. Called about 5 pest control companies. AAA Gates Wildlife Control was very receptive and Chris came at the agreed upon time, excavated the premises and set the appropriate one door traps so that the critters could leave and not enter. He then came back and sealed the entry points AND provided us with a one year warranty. No issues now and peace of mind! Thanks AAA Gates Wildlife Control!!!

    Answer from pro:

Hi Hasan, it pleases me to hear that you did your homework before choosing to hire our company. Most homeowners do not compare companies but rather hire the first one they find on the internet. Unfortunately, because the wildlife control industry is not licensed, they stand a good chance of hiring a fly-by-night business. I also like your comment that you now have "peace of mind", I often tell our customers that we sell peace of mind. It can be very unnerving to hear animals running about and chewing in the attic. Thank you for your excellent review and for hiring my company! Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

Installation of screens to prevent bird nesting

My call was answered and a service call was set up for the following day. I was given a choice of several appointment times and the technician arrived promptly at the set time. He inspected the house and provided me with a written quote prior to commencing the work. The exterior vents were repaired, sealed with silicone and the bird screens installed in a professional manner. I'm very pleased with the job and have already recommended them to a friend.
