I was impressed by the fast response time for both scheduling the service call and having it done. I found the technician who did the work to be both courteous and helpful. They provided me with a good price and excellent work. I would definitely recommend them.

Our fireplace had been giving us problems since we moved to our house 20 years ago. Over the years we dealt with at least 2 different chimney companies but they were never really able to fix all the problems. When we hired A-1 , it was to clean the chimney but even more important, to see if they could tell us why so much cold air was coming OUT of the fireplace and into our room, when we had an insert which supposedly would prevent this. Owen and Shawn were great -- they found that our chimney cap had been partially knocked off, that there was no insulation around the liner, and no insulation around the insert. Don't know why the other companies couldn't tell us this. One trip a day later and everything was fixed. Finally, there's no breeze in the basement, and we are looking forward to reduced heating bills from now on. Thank you, Owen and Shawn -- we will definitely be recommending you!

We had A1 come to our new house on Dec 13 to inspect and clean our chimney. Our home inspector had told us he couldn't open the damper so we were thinking it might require repair as well. The A1 technician opened it in 1 second (there was nothing wrong with it) and then cleaned our chimney quickly, efficiently and cleanly (no dirt in the living room). He then explained to me how to open and close the damper and how to light a fire properly to avoid smoke in the house (we've never had a fireplace before). I highly recommend A1. Sorry for the late review and I can't remember the technician's name but he was excellent.

We recently moved into a new house that has a wood burning fireplace. We've never had a wood fireplace before, so were a little inexperience in it's care + use. A-1 Chimney were prompt to reply to my email, with very friendly sales team that were helpful in working with me to figure out what we needed. At the end, we got our chimney cleaned, and got a thorough tutorial on the basics of operating the chimney along with some tips on keeping the chimney operating cleanly and safely. Great service timely service, despite the bad weather! Would definitely recommend them for others, and use them again.

Once again, Kelly and Owen came through for me this past Christmas 2013. I was scheduled to do my annual inspection and cleaning of my gas fireplace in mid December, and it was done to perfection. Experienced technician arrived on time, was very knowledgable, and kept the area tidy(even removed his shoes:) Technician advised that "glowing embers" could be replaced. I was not sure what this was, so once again, the owners Kelly and Owen helped me out. They had a technician come by my house a few days later and replace and install the embers. Again, excellent dedication to superb customer service and a real pride taken in their desire to please. Right in time for the power outage that some of us had to experience, as I provided a warm house and food for family members and friends in need. Happy 2014!

I had A-1 Quality Chimney cleanup my wood burning fireplace and chimney (inside) and the gentleman who came in was very professional, cleaned everything without making any mess, then took the time to explain to me exactly what steps I should follow in order to have a safe fire in my house. I was so impressed that I actually booked a second appointment to have my gas fireplace cleaned up. Another technician showed up, a subcontractor, also very professional. I was very happy with the quality of service. In fact I used the gas fireplace during the recent ice storm for the one night when we did not have power in the house and there was no gas leak or any other problem. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

I spoke to a very nice person at A-1 and their customer service was amazing. I had never had my chimney done before and they were very polite and handled all my questions. Right away we set up an appointment. The man who arrived was amazing and very clean. He didn't leave a trace of ash. After the amazing experience they amazed me with a follow up phone call asking how my experience was, which was amazing. I am going to recommend A-1 to my friends and family and will have them clean my chimney again next year.

I've been using A1 to clean my chimney at my house in Cabbagetown for many years and they are the most professional and have the best rates in the city. My wife and I have always relied on them. We recently moved to a condo downtown that has a wood burning fireplace and I figured the condo corp was going to deal with the fireplace. They don't and even told me not to use it, despite the fact that that's one of the major reasons we got the condo! I called A1 and they came right over. Even though it is a much higher chimney (they have to sweep 4 floors upward), they did it for the same rate as usual! They provided an inspection report that I showed to the condo corp and my wife and I have been enjoying it all through the holidays. Thanks again for the great service guys!

I wish I could find other home service providers that are as professional, courteous and friendly as A1 Quality Chimney. I had the pleasure of having Jeff, A1’s dedicated gas fireplace specialist visit my home to sweep out and repair my gas fireplace that had not worked since I moved into my house over two years ago. He was able to come on a Saturday morning, which was the only time that was convenient for me. Previously, two other home service professionals could not figure out the problem. In a matter of 15 minutes, Jeff diagnosed the problem. He then did a thorough cleaning of the fireplace. The required part to complete the repair was ordered and Jeff was back the following Saturday to install it. Finally I have a working gas fireplace! Jeff’s level of professionalism far exceeds most other service people that have done work in my home. Everything was put back in its proper place and not a speck of dirt was left behind. I must give a special mention to Kelley, A1’s friendly customer service rep. On the day of my appointment, Toronto received a HUGE helping of snow, and Kelley called me at home to let me know that Jeff would be running behind. Most other home services providers are late on a sunny and clear day with no phone call whatsoever, so this was VERY impressive. Thanks A1 Quality Chimney, and I will certainly recommend your company with confidence any time I hear that friends or family may require chimney and fireplace services.
