Review from HomeOwner Review left on 15 May 2009Rating: 5 out of 5I met all of the staff at Alliance over several trips in an effort to decide between engineered or solid hardwood flooring. Every one of them was pleasant, informed, and offered me the opportunity to "take my time", select samples to take home, and make a reasoned decision. The flooring that I ultimately ordered arrived within a few days, was delivered within the time parameters promised, and it was beautiful. I have already recommended this company to several of my friends. It truly was a pleasure to deal with Susan, and the rest of the staff at Alliance.Review from Di Di

We were in need of the laminate flooring ASAP and when we called Alliance Floor Source they were amazing. We were able to order the laminate over the phone and complete the entire transaction via email and phone. We even were able to pick-up the laminate ourselves one day later.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 18 Apr 2009Rating: 5 out of 5Carpet & Runner Installation
I hired Alliance to install carpet for my second floor, as well as a runner for the stairs. Susan was extremely helpful during the selection process and was very patient in following up with all my questions. After the carpet was installed, I wasn't completely satisfied with how it looked (the pattern was off). I initially thought it was an installation error, so a few months later, I contacted Alliance to complain. Lehel responded immediately and came over the next day to inspect the issue. I was impressed - even though I had let quite a few months pass by before I contacted Alliance (I got really busy), Lehel still treated my complaint with utmost concern and a sense of urgency, even though this project was already fully paid for and completed many months ago. It turned out to be a manufacturing defect, and he took care of the re-ordering and re-installation process from beginning to end. It is obvious that Alliance truly cares about their customer's satisfaction. They could have easily brushed off my concerns and given me a hard time because so many months had passed, but they didn't. Now I have a newly replaced carpet and runner that look wonderful. If you are looking for a trustworthy company, and want confidence and peace of mind that you will be taken care of, go to Alliance Floor Source. Thank you Lehel!Answer from pro:

Review left on 7 Apr 2009Rating: 5 out of 5Floor sanding, staining and engineered floor installation.
We purchased a 3,600 sf condo which had old style parquet flooring and three bedrooms with carpeting on cement. Alliance sanded the parquet and tinted it to perfectly match the Espresso engineered flooring we had chosen for the bedrooms. We couldn't have been happier with the look. In addition, we had a small A/C leak on the newly stained parquet and the repair they did is invisible. Would not hesitate to recommend them.Answer from pro:
Any more floods, or if anyone you know needs hardwood, laminate or carpet work done, we are your flooring company. Thank you Leslie. Lehel

Review left on 31 Mar 2009Rating: 5 out of 52nd Floor & Stair Carpeting
After we purchased a resale home one of our first pre-move-in projects was to re-carpet the entire 2nd floor and install a runner on the staircase. After reading many of the reviews on HomeStars we choose Alliance and are very happy we did. Lehel and Susan were very friendly, gave us great advice on the different products and a fair price. On short-notice Lehel was able rearrange his schedule to do all the measurements during one of our already arranged pre-move-in visits to the house, which saved us a subsequent visit, and Susan arranged the installation on the day we wanted. A few days after the 2nd floor installation Lehel came by to ensure we were happy with it. Unfortunately, the stairs needed a lot of work before the runner could be installed, but Alliance patiently waited for us and, since we were doing all the staining and painting ourselves, gave us advice. Within a couple of days of completing the staircase renovation one of their installers returned and installed the runner on our circular staircase. The new carpet looks great and we would strongly recommend them.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

We had flood damage to the existing hardwood flooring in our condo and after waiting half a year for the insurance contractor to arrange the replacement (with no start date in sight), decided to take the cash-out and find our own flooring people. We were very lucky to come across Allliance Flooring Source! They were prompt, up front, professional and courteous. Starting the from the fair estimate we were given (which they guaranteed even when an unexpected hitch resulted in an extra day's work for them) to the completion of the job, we were very very happy. The demolition team thoughtfully put up plastic sheets on the lower 3/4 part of the walls and the flooring group left the place nicely swept clean. The flooring looks great. We definitely recommend - Four thumbs up (both of us combined)!Answer from pro:
Dear Steve, Thank you for the kind words. And thank you for your business!! Please make sure you keep up with the "munster" called humidity control, to defend against the evil expention/contraction/delemination. Lehel

Alliance, namely Lehel and Susan, were able to assist us right through the decision making process of choosing the right type and color of floor, to ensuring the cement underlay (over radiant heating)was level, to the installation as well as the final touch-ups. After dealing with a number of trades in the last year, I was impressed by the professionalism and work ethic demonstrated by Alliance. All calls were returned quickly, all appointments were kept and any changes to the schedule were mostly due to our issues with the other trades. Lehel was accomodating as well as flexible and our installation went smoothly and quickly. It was a positive experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Alliance.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

What was good: Susan was very responsive and met the timeline and budget requirements. She was a pleasure to deal with. What disappointed: Sam the installer left one of the side runner pieces loose and knocked a chip out of the bottom of the door. Although the house is old, the principle of leaving the house in the state in which you found it was not adhered to. Lehal and Sam returned again to survey the damage and were unwilling to come up with creative solutions to solve what were small but inconvenient problems. I expected better customer service. I was disappointed that they absolved themselves of responsibility and, to add insult to injury, Sam wore his wet and dirty boots on the new carpet. The bottom line: Everything went well until the installation, and even then the problems were minor. However, I was disappointed by the lack of effort to try to find solutions. It is not the things that go wrong - it's the way in which you then handle them.Answer from pro:
Although we are not perfect, most, if not all, of our reviews are excellent. That is because we simply don't do things like the ones you accused us of. Based on your complaints both the installer and I (Lehel) took the time to visit and consider the problems. That's a lot more than most contractors would have done for a $650 order (including taxes). However, we went, since customer service is the most important issue for us. The falling off, weak and barely held up stringer piece was shown to the man, that you left to supervise the installer, as soon as it fell off. He said to leave it and not to worry about it. In fact my installer spent about 15 minutes trying to repair it before he continued with the installation, even though it was not his fault that it let go the one nail that was NOT holding it in place. You also accused him of damaging a door on the landing, a small piece missing from the bottom of it, which looked like may have been off for a while already. He not only didn't hide the follen off stringer, he tried to fix it. As he was unsuccessful, he left the piece there for you to do with it as you please. If he possibly chipped out a piece from the bottom of the door (approx. 1" high x 2" long (???)), why would he not leave that piece there as well, so that it could at least be reinstalled by someone else? We just simply do NOT do things that you accused us of. We could NOT give you "creative solutions" at our expence to problems we did NOT create. The installer never stepped on the new carpet with his shoes. He stayed standing on the ceramic tiles and leaned over the corner when he respectfully addressed you. I am very disappointed that you tried to blame us for things we did not cause.

We were moving into a house and had the 2nd floor carpet replaced. We found Alliance from Homestars and have been very happy with them. Lehel, the owner, and Susan, the sales representative, are excellent individuals. They are extremely pleasant to be around and are very patient to give us personalized information on different flooring options and the finer differences between different materials. The educational experience has been quite enjoyable. In the end, they were able to find us an excellent deal from Beaulieu on a top-of-the-line but discontinued model, which was cheaper yet of better quality than the model we initially wanted. Furthermore, they helped us meet our tight move-in schedule by booking alternate carpet installers when their own were unavailable. On installation day, it turned out that Beaulieu had mixed in a roll of wrong carpet (same colour, lower quality) in their shipment; Lehel and Susan dealt with it professionally and got us proper replacements within a week. The new carpet is now one of the best parts of the house that we enjoy. We highly recommend Alliance's services.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Excellent service, done on time and excellent quality work. No hassles with scheduling. Good selection of wood to choose from and everything was done on time. Got engineered wood floors. Would definitely recommend this to a friend.
