    bathrooms

Ashton Renovations did a superb job renovating my two condo bathrooms. For someone like myself who didn't know where to begin, Mark, the owner, provides two in one services, i.e., design suggestions as well as his team's excellent workmanship. He was always available throughout the process and I deeply appreciated his genuine support. I would highly recommend this company. They are honest, excellent communicators and take pride in their work.

Bathroom renovation & prep for hardwood floors

Our only bathroom in a century home was the victim of a questionable early 90s reno, and we asked Ashton Renovations to take it back to the studs and create a bathroom that we would be confident in. They also ripped out the original strip flooring upstairs and prepped it for replacement with 3/4" hardwood. The team were professional, dealt well with the various problems that crop up in a century home, and kept our budget in mind. The final product is lovely, and it's great to know that we've dealt with the hidden problems in the floors & walls. Mark is very responsive to emails and phone calls. We will certainly give them a call when we're ready to tackle the kitchen.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the positive feedback. We enjoyed doing this bathroom and the unique industrial style of the finishes. Look forward to hearing from you on your next project.

    Master Bathroom

Mark and his team of professionals designed and executed flawlessly our vision for this project. His knowledge of condo renovations was extremely useful. The tiling team, the electrician and the plumbing team not to mention the construction team and the painter were incredible. And the attention to detail never faltered. Mark is a pro and the results prove it.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Mario. This bathroom turned out awesome. We really like some of your choices including the red backsplash behind the mirrors. Many thanks for allowing HomeStars to take a video of us for their Bathroom101 segment.

Full Basement and Main Bathroom Renovation

Our house was originally built in 1940 and was a two-bedroom bungalow with a full bathroom on the main floor and a two-piece bathroom in the basement. The basement had been finished by a previous owner, but the use of the space was not ideal and definitely needed some work. After interviewing at least five different contractors, we decided to hire Ashton Renovations to complete a full basement renovation and to upgrade the main floor bathroom. What we liked about Mark above all others was that he listened to us when we told him what we wanted and what our budget was. He was forthcoming in what he could do within our budget versus the others who told us what our budget should be. The renovations involved quite an extensive amount of work – complete demolition and removal of the existing basement and bathrooms; replacement of all radiator supply and return lines; removal of knob and tube wiring; installation of a new full bathroom, two additional bedrooms, and a new laundry/kitchenette area in the basement; and upgrading the main floor bathroom. Throughout the process, Mark kept us informed on progress and took the time to explain what he was doing. You can tell that Mark takes pride in his work which is reflected in his team and the trades people he employs. Mark was invaluable in making suggestions on design and fixtures which saved us a lot of time – we were able to tell Mark the style we liked and he knew exactly what we’d be happy with. We are very happy with the work that Ashton Renovations did and would be happy to work them again on our next project.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Tracy. We hope you and Mark enjoy the basement and bathrooms. We equally appreciate your kindness to our trades during the renovation, and the positive atmosphere.

    Basement Reno

Ashton Renovations finished our basement this fall, and we are very happy with the results. We went from a dark and practically unusable space to a great play/family area for our growing family, with some storage, a new full bathroom and a separate laundry/furnace room. They started on time, and lived up to all their obligations. Mark also provided some great advice on different material options, taking into account the limitations of the space (100 year old home) and our budget (flooring, tiles and lighting for the bathroom, insulation etc). We would definitely hire Mark again for future renovations.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Louis & Adele. We all enjoyed working in your home and hope you find the extra space useful for you and your 3 children. We're glad we were able to get everything in from the original design.

    Shower Reno

Despite the small nature of our job, we were treated with the care and attention that you'd expect from a much bigger project. I would easily have Mark take on any of our future renovations, and would recommend him to anyone. Thank you!

    Answer from pro:

No problem Matt. Glad we were able to repair your shower with the new quartz pieces and glass enclosure. Now water should stay were it should be - in the shower. Thanks.

    Ensuite Bathroom & Kitchen Renovation

A good friend introduced me to Ashton Renovations after she had her kitchen done by them. After both hearing how pleased she was with her renovation, and seeing the work they did first hand, I decided initially to have Mark do the planning and design of my space. I have a 100 year old home in Leslieville, Toronto, and the kitchen and bathroom needed quite a bit of work. Mark came up with a great layout and design with my input, and I decided to have him do the project. Once the renovation started it was extensive and involved lots of work. The renovations in the bathroom included new structural elements to the room with insulation, electrical, plumbing and drywall. It was a modern design and the soaker tub featured a quartz top that extended into the shower with a bench. The shower is beautiful with a glass enclosure, integrated shelving, and a thermostatic shower system. My kitchen is equally beautiful. It's now open with a view to my garden and an area to sit at and enjoy the space. It's simple and the green cabinet doors add colour and life to the kitchen. I love the renovations! Mark and his team really worked hard on the project, and the new kitchen and bathroom are a focal point of the house. Mark did a great job managing the renovations and took the time and effort to be available whenever I had questions. Ashton Renovations really came through, and like my good friend, I would recommend them for your home renovation project too. Donna

    Answer from pro:

Hi Donna. We're glad that Sharon referred us to you and we were able to work on your house. In particular, we especially enjoyed working on the upstairs bathroom because of the dramatic change we see it brought to your house. The integration of the bath and shower turned out really well and we're happy you find that space much more useful now. Thanks again.

    Kitchen Renovations

We hired Ashton Renovations to do a kitchen renovation for our house as our existing kitchen had been previously renovated, however was dated with a small footprint and aging appliances. The kitchen had a laundry room attached to it with a brick wall and doorway that needed to be removed in order to enlarge the kitchen and make a more usable space. Mark and the team were able to tear out the old rooms, fix previously unknown problems and upgrade the structure and services prior to re-studding, insulating and drywalling the new larger room. Ashton Renovations managed the entire project, ensuring that all aspects of design and construction were handled professionally and efficiently. The end product more than met our expectations and kept within our agreed upon budget and scope. We would recommend Mark and his team at Ashton Renovations without hesitation, and will be looking to do further business with them in the future.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Dave. All of us at Ashton Renovations appreciate your comments, and are happy you are enjoying your new kitchen.
