Better Contracting Services did great work to install our Eaves-troughs/downspouts, and we were totally satisfied with the job. After this, we found that Better Contracting Services tends to encroach on property lines while doing work @house next door (siding/roofing/venting); and does not check to see what actual property lines are. Installed siding, roofing, venting all over the actual property line approximately 6"+. Will most likely not hire Better Contracting again due to negligence and encroachment onto our property. Rating of 3 - "Buyer Beware" - Better Contracting does not check property lines while doing siding/roofing etc. Be sure to provide this information when engaging with a contractor. There is no on-going issue with our neighbor, this review is honest and not personal. Contractors have a responsibility to do quality work each and every time. (Also, my name is not Rob)

Hired BCS to do soffit vents after InstaInsulation came and baffled and blew insulation into the ceiling. The number of roof vents was the same as the soffit request and they replaced those by accident by doing the job earlier than scheduled. They made good on the mistake and cleared that charge and did the soffit vents quickly. Recommend for roofing needs. WIll use again on my new house.

incredibly frustrating to deal with. dont waste your time and effort there are many other companies that will appeciate your business and willingness to pay for quality work and good customer service...but "better contracting" is not one of them. had some ventilation issues and problems with frosting in attic that needed adressing so i decided to call BC as i had seen them several times on holmes shows. murray the sales rep came out and assesed everything from outside not even going in our attic. he suggested we needed to add a roof vent. at the same time i needed to some bathroom vents installed on roof and wanted gutter guards installed and our downspouts removed from our weepers. he suggested for warranty purposes that new gutters should be installed so i went ahead with the work as pricing seemed quite reasonable. guys came out and did the work when they had promised but a year later i found that i was still experiencing difficulties in my attic (frost) so i decided to install perforated soffits throughout which they also did to my satisfaction. at the same ti me a had them adress a leaking/dripping gutter in the front of my house....well thats where things started to come off the rails. they have been out a few times to try and resolve but to this day i get a huge muddy puddle in the front of my house because of this dripping gutter. at same time i asked them to reroute my gutters near my drive way (understandfing i would have to pay) because water was now creating an ice sheet in my drive way in the winter. i called them spring of 2014 to get them out there to asses figuring that would be plenty of time, they came out to asses in june 2014 and here we are in feb 2015 and nothing has been done. i called charlene what seemed like once a week in the fall indicating wanted this work done (without even knowing the cost) but needed done by december to avoid the hazards of ice in my driveway again. every week it was the same answer it seemed promises after promises but i would have to follow up with a call the following week. if it wasnt for thew work they had already done i would have moved on long ago,but for me just didnt seem right that i spent the money that i did and got this kind of service. they always are pleasant on the phone but it is what they do to mask the incredibly poor service of this company. I guess the fact that this was a small job and i had already paid them in full they didn't feel the need back up their work or keep appointments..quite frankly i am astounded that their rating is as high as it is. i am in service business as well and for me a job is not complete until a job is seen through to completion at the customers satisfaction...well installation went well but it is the follow up that has led to this review. hopefully other consumers will read this and help them decide to look elsewhere. as i suggested earlier your time and money can most definitely be put to much better use elsewhere dont let the fact that these are a "holmes approved" contractor fool you

We have received high quality installation work and follow up service over a number of years from Better Contracting. They did a very good job reroofing our house and installing new eavestroughs and downspouts - did both jobs efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly. They have also provided prompt follow-up service and repairs when needed. Their installers have been professional and the front office has always been responsive and helpful.

Very profesional came on time and date said completed on time and left area clean the employed where very well informed and answered all my questions that my wife and I had will get them to do my parents roof in the future

These guys were already recommended to me when I found out they were a Holmes-approved company, so that sealed the deal. The estimate was accurate (they actually came in a little under) and the work was completed on time. That was with a rain-day too, so they would have been even quicker. The guys friendly and polite, even to our dog who did not approve of them on the property. Little does he know that the roof will probably outlast *him*. Excellent work, and they even matched some existing product so everything looked great. Strongly recommended!

Very happy with the new basement. Process was smooth and work is top notch. The job took exactly the amount of time they said it would and were on budget. I will be using them for my next project.

Hired these people to do my roof. I had in mind a certain kind of shingles, and their rep suggested something else that was actually cheaper. The work was done promptly and well. My new roof looks great!

I was very happy with the level of service and professionalism from the estimate to job completion. My estimator was very helpful explaining the products and helping me understand the process. The roofers were there on the date I was given and took extra care to protect my property from debris and nails. I was also impressed that after the garbage bin was removed my driveway was swept clean. They delivered exactly as promised from first phone call to final cleanup. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof!

I seen Better contracting on TV , I knew it was a company I could trust due to me being out of the province working. My Wife is so pleased with the work, Thanks Guys
