Where do we begin?? Brent is a phenomenal professional and a wonderful inspector. We contacted him a few weeks ago to conduct a home inspection as we never did one when we first purchased our home. As the months went on, we kept finding things wrong with our home, and contractors would come in and tell us that X, Y, and Z was done incorrectly. We decided rather than pour a ton of money into our home, we would finally get that inspection done (better late than never) to see what, if anything, needed to be done to make our home a safe and enjoyable place to live in - or to determine if we should just move. We contacted Brent, and he was very accommodating to our schedule in terms of making arrangements to come see our home.
On the day of the inspection, he arrived 15 minutes early and began his inspection right away after taking a brief history of our home. We were a little anxious about the process as we ticked off in our minds the numbers of problems we were told over the past few months. We were expecting our home to receive a giant "fail" based on what we had been told before, so we were ready and receptive to hearing what Brent had to say. Brent conducted a thorough inspection of the interior and exterior of our home - including areas that we had never actually investigated. He took his time on each floor and tested everything (outlets, lights, and so on). He would talk to us as he went along, and took photos of potentially problematic areas, as well as of areas we had never looked at before (attic, roof).
At the end of the day, Brent gave our home a clean bill of health and instructed us as to the areas that needed the greatest amount of attention. Any concerns that were lingering in our minds were put to rest, and we were able to ask him about whether or not certain things in our home were done properly. Although not everything in our home was finished or done "perfectly," they certainly weren't nearly as disastrous as we were told they were in the past. Brent has saved us from many sleepless nights, much stress, and wasted money from fixing things that never needed to be changed in the first place.
We were very impressed with Brent's professionalism, his thorough report, and the detail with which he investigated our home. We are very happy with the report and will definitely prioritize the elements he told us to focus on. Thank you, Brent, for being such an incredibly warm, friendly, and thoughtful professional, and for guiding us through the process of what to update/fix, and what to look out for in the future. We will definitely hire you again in the future, and will refer you to our family and friends should they be in need of a truly wonderful and skilled home inspector!!
