It is amazing how such a simple thing could cause such grief. A lazy HVAC installation was going to cause many problems no question about it. It is always nice to see when first time homebuyers hit the jackpot on their first home. Trust me; this is not always the case. I am also glad that you had something to compare me. I'm not saying this because you felt I was a much better home inspector, it's just people don't know what to expect from their home inspector. People assume all inspectors are created equal!...As you may know, this is not the case. With it being pretty much a free for all out there for home inspectors, people have to be so careful who they choose. Sometimes I look as these so- called building inspectors or listen to what people have told me about their previous inspector, and I just shake my head with disbelief. It is like "are you kidding me"? All I can say is that I try my best. I hope that this meets people’s expectations. Thank you sooo much for the kind words and review Rob! It was great meeting with you too! You know, I look at all these 10+ ratings and say to myself, "but is this good enough"? It's not that I am not happy with all of them, (words cannot even describe it!), but I think, "how can I improve myself?" ... I just keep trying! Yes, that was good that the homeowner is willing to listen to what I told you about the furnace problem, and are going to get it fixed. Do you how many homeowners get all hot and bothered when I am asked to point something out to them? They flip out, cause a big commotion, and tell me to get out. It's as if they knew about it and were trying to hide it or something. I could not be any gentler and educate them about what I see. Nope, they do not want to hear it. Rob, I think after that inspection, you should be quite happy with your new home! Thanks again and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!!!

Thank you Chris for the kind words and review! I truly appreciate it! Ahh the one year inspection, sometimes can a very interesting one. At the one year, things have started to settle, things now have started to show. People have lived in the home for close to a year and now notice things they did not see when they first moved in. It's amazing how many times I have brought up an issue, and the home owner has already known and informed the issue on their 30 day, and the home builder has still yet to get around doing it. Or better yet, the home owner tells me, "yep they've come back three times already trying to fix it". .. and it's still a mess. In my head I'm thinking, "why can't the home builder just get it right." I mean, it's their job to do this stuff every day, how can they get it wrong? Anyway, hopefully all went well with you Chris. Thank you so much for the kind words and review Don! It was great meeting with you too! It's always nice when I am doing an inspection and meet people who share the same interests as me. You had kind of an interesting case, your contractor tried to fix an issue, however just ended up causing more problems. I must say, it was kind of amusing when he called me asking how it should get done. I just told him over the phone how to do it. I also must say, it was nice, that at least he was willing to listen and correct the problem, it shows that he cares. I'm used to getting calls where people tell me that their contractor is telling them the complete opposite as to what I told them on the inspection. When I ask to set up a time to meet with the people and their contractor I never seem to get the call back. Their contractor's "too busy" to meet with me... ;-) Thanks again Don, and thank you for Choosing Classic Home Inspections!!!

Thank you so much for the review Tram! A very nice home! You should be quite happy with your purchase! First time home buyers are fun to work with, they always expect the worst! They seem to be the ones who expect me to say at the end of the inspection, "Whew, good thing you hired me, this house is falling down!" When 99.9% of the time, that's simply not the case. Thank you Scott for the kind words and review! It is much appreciated. That is interesting about what you say about other home inspectors not sharing the report that they use. Seems a bit odd, but I don't know their reasoning. I even know of some home inspectors who don't even provide a written report. I guess they expect people to remember everything or to bring a clipboard for taking notes. I am glad that the pictures were of help too. They actually help me as well; therefore if people call me after the inspection, I just refer to the pictures. Interesting enough, I've even had people call me upset telling me that their contractor is telling them something opposite to what I told them, I simply refer to the picture and show them what I saw. Interesting enough, the contractor doesn't pursue the issue. Thanks again for the review Scott, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

Thank you for the review Daniel! I really, truly appreciate it! That was somewhat of an interesting case, but not necessarily uncommon. Many people will purchase a home without the home inspection clause and for-go the inspection. Fortunately, aside from a bunch of knob and tube wiring that you already knew about, not much else that really had to be addressed.
