    Home inspection

    Having just bought a house, a friend of mine recommended Brent at Classic Home Inspections. I can honestly say that all my expectations were exceeded - Brent was very flexible when it came to scheduling the inspection time, showed up a little bit earlier and overall has made a great impression on us on just about every front. His attention to details is great, he notices small things that others might've missed, knows a LOT about homes/things that need attention and he also has a great sense of humor too! Our inspection took approximately 3 - 3.5 hours and we've learned a lot about our future home in that timeframe. The next time someone asks me whether I know a good home inspector, I'll tell them "no, but I know a great one".

    House inspection of townhome in Glen Abbey, Oakville

    Brent just saved my butt from buying a house that could have potentially cost me thousands in repairs in the very new future -- money I just don't have. There's a reason this guy has 10 out of 10 ratings -- he's just that good. He spent about an hour alone on three rooms on the ground floor of this three floor townhome I was looking at. During that time he found: a crack in the foundation that was leaking, black mold under the stairway and a plumbing leak from the first floor bathroom. The real estate agent was a bit flabbergasted because she had had her own inspector through the townhome only a year or so earlier and her inspector had missed these things. Brent has a very fine eye for detail and will spot things you will likely miss with an untrained eye. He was extremely patient with an overprotective father who had a million questions and dealt with the entire inspection with the best sense of humour I've come across in a long time. He is genuinely brilliant at his job and gives you a manual you can take home to review what he found. He also provides you with a synopsis and photos of the house he inspected. But what struck me most about him is that he genuinely wants to see you get a house that's in good shape -- he wants the best for you. And that's pretty rare to find. When I do find my next house, and the search begins again (ugh), you know who I will be calling. (You've been warned Brent).

Actually, that was a very nice home, it's just too bad it's not going to be for you. I would never tell you to buy or not to buy the home, my job is to tell you about the home. Unfortunately in this case mold was definitely the issue. That's too bad. In regards to the other home inspector, I don't know what to say, in fairness, I wasn't there a year ago to see what he/she was looking at.     Home Inspection

    I just finished a thorugh 3 1/2 hour home inspection with Brent. It was truly a pleasure. You can ask him absolutely anything and he gives straight and knowledgeable answers. His business is to know houses and it shows. I had my contractor friend with me during the house inspection and he too was super impressed with Brent. I asked for a bunch of cards as I wouldn't hesitate for an instant to recommend him to friends and family. Thanks again!

It was like when I showed you the electrical panel box. There was exception to the rules in this case, and I wanted you to understand them.     home inspection

    Brent saved the day for us! We found out we had to get a home inspection done in 1 day for our offer to be in good standing. We found out that 2 highly reputable firms that promised us they could do this inspection with one day notice either was all of us a sudden solidly booked for the week or never returned our calls! Thankfully we found Brent on Homestars and called him up at 10pm (sorry again Brent!) and he said he could meet us at 11am the next day! At the inspection he spent 3.5 hours with us answering all our questions, going through everything slowly and thoroughly, giving us suggestions and cost estimates to fix things. He took over 50 photos for us to remember the house and items to fix and gave us a thorough binder before he left. He was honest, funny, professional, knowledgeable, down-to-earth, and just a solid guy to work with. We definitely felt much more comfortable with the house by the time he left and we would definitely recommend him to all of our friends. Thank you so much Brent for everything!!!!

Now as far as calling me after ten hoping for an inspection the next day is tough, however, in this case luck was on both our sides. You mentioned going through costs. Yes, if people do request some kind of ballpark for repairs I can try and help them. In some cases it's difficult, but I can certainly try and give you and idea. Unfortunately you may hear a little differently from a contractor. Remember, I have nothing to sell you. So I can try and assist when possible.     Home Inspection

    We found Brent here on Homestars. He arrived on time, told me everything I needed to know to maintain my new home, and did rush during the job. The first words out of his mouth were "I'm not leaving until you know everything you need to know about your home, and are comfortable with what I have told you". He is extremely professional and I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks for the Fantastic work Brent.

    Home Inspection

    Brent was 25 minutes early to our appointment and started his work even before we arrived. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He explained his observations in great detail which allowed us to gain considerable insight into the home we were inspecting, and about home maintenance in general. He conducts himself in a professional manner and makes the home inspection experience a joy. I would recommend Brent to anyone looking for a thorough and detailed home inspection.

    Home inspection

    Brent did an excellent job, was very professional, didn't rush through any aspect of the inspection, had the patience to respond to "first-time homebuyer" questions we were posing and offered his advice on the minor problem areas we encountered. We were provided with digital photos following the home inspection and had email questions answered promptly. We didn't close the deal on this property (nothing to do with the home inspection), and we will be using Brent again when the opportunity arises.

    Home inspection

    Brent inspected a large house (over 120 years old) for us this week (we since have bought it!). He is funny, humble, and very straightforward. Beyond being exceptional at his job, it is also clear he loves his job. This made the whole process much enjoyable- a very nice and unexpected break from an otherwise very stressful home buying experience. Brent spent well over 4 hrs going through the house and garage with us and presented issues to us clearly, but without alarm. We would recommend him unconditionally to anyone!! We could write pages about how positive the experience was, but to keep the review short: we agree with all of the positive reviews on homestars.com, and to reiterate an earlier review, there really is no catch with Classic Home Inspections! Oh- it also was quite affordable given the size and complexity of the property. Keep up the great work Brent- the GTA is lucky to have you! Dana and Nate

    New home inspection

    We are first-time homebuyers and Brent took the time to walk us through every inch of our new home, explaining everything to us patiently and answering all of our questions. He didn't rush to get the inspection done and even sat with us to go over what we had seen throughout the home and how it was noted in the inspection package he left with us. We were more than impressed with Brent's thoroughness and professionalism -- yet he still took the time to make sure we understood everything and were at ease with the process. Thanks Brent!

They have this anticipation level of me coming out of an inspection expecting me to tell them the house is falling down. I'll be honest, most houses aren’t falling down. Some are, but most are not. Yet, there is so much more with the components that make up a home that can cause the grief. It's these individual components that we need to find out about. I like to put things into perspective. Show the good and the bad. Every house under the sun has good and bad things. Fortunately your first home has minimal wrong and I think it's a great first home to get into.     Home Inspection

    This is the second time I have used Brent for a home inspection and, as I expected, he was incredible! He is so thorough and so professional. He doesn't miss a thing. Brent took the time to check every little thing, such as every receptacle in the house, and, even though we knew the roof was new, he wen up to take a look in the pouring (and I mean pouring rain). I can not imagine that there is a better home inspector available. I would use him again and I will definitely recommend him to anyone who is in need of a home inspection. Thanks for your great work Brent.
