    Buyer Home Inspection

I saw all the good reviews here and decided to ask Brent for Home Inspection , even with a very short notice he came today and did a great job. He was so on time , even he was in there 20 min before our appointment, first he started with roof with a very good advice on , then around the house with very simple and useful comments to improve and keep the house in good condition. He spent a long time in basement and answered all my questions even the silly ones, also he learned me how to run a wood chimney !!! Thanks Brent. He did a great job and he takes time to explain the situation , when you need to fix and how. Attached Photo shows how serious he takes his job ;)

Wowzers!!! Thank you so much for the feedback Amir!!! I am glad that you were happy with the inspection. You know what made that inspection fun? Your enthusiasm! I told you when we started; I am going have you understand this home in its entirety. Including how to operate a wood burning fireplace. Many people don't know how to operate them properly and won't use them. I said we weren't finished until you had seen and understood everything. Thanks for submitting the picture...I love it! ... Thanks again Amir and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!!!

    Home Inspection

Brent is the MAN! He is professional, courteous, and is very good at home inspections. Brent will take the time to explain all of his findings, and will give you practical advice on how best to deal with "must do" issues as well as things that can wait. At the end of the inspection you have a very handy binder that contains your report, along with other useful homeowner information. Brent also takes the time to email you LOTS of photos showing you exactly what he sees - good, bad or indifferent. Something also of note is that Brent purposely inspects homes in his socks - this may not seem like a big deal, but it also means that he can sense things that other home inspectors who wear boots on the job won't - cold floors, or things like the puddle of water (which came in through a leaky sunroom roof) we didn't notice until Brent stepped in it! We used Brent twice; the first home he inspected we ended up walking away from based on his findings. For impeccable, professional, friendly and thorough service, Brent is the man to call!

    Answer from pro:

Wow Mike!!! What a review!!! Thank you so much. I can't believe that you picked up on the fact that I was only wearing my socks during the inspection. For precisely the reasons that you had mentioned. Just wearing socks can tell a lot! It was too bad about the first home. It was nice but with all the recent renovations it still required work to the renovations that were done. I mean, $70K on basement renovations and they didn't even put $500 worth of subfloors in? Oh well, but it did lead you to a home your and your wife fell in love with. Which was a real gem! All comes to those who wait...Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

I found Brent through the reviews here and agree with everyone else. He provided a thorough inspection and had some good pointers on small things that should be taken care of after we move in. He even dropped by our current place to give us some advice on finishing the basement floor before we put it on the market. No hesitation here. If you need a home inspector, Brent's your guy.

Thank you so much for the feedback Ken in "The Pocket"! (The "pocket" is an area in East York for those who are wondering). It was great meeting with you. I truly am glad that you were happy with the inspection. It's amazing who many people love the "pointers" going about doing things around the home. The "pointers" can save people a big headache. Just yesterday I was performing a second home inspection for a couple who had used me a few years ago, they had mentioned some of the "pointers" or "heads up" that I had told them at the inspection. They had chuckled telling me that they didn't address them until it was too late. IE: they got leaks. The simple pointers that I gave them worked and solved the problem. As always Ken, please feel free to always contact me if you have questions. Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

Brent with Classic Home Inspections was a true professional whose work was very thorough. He was honest, to the point, and made suggestions that I would never have thought of myself. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend him to anyone looking to have their home inspected. You will not be disappointed with the quality of his service.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback Connell!!! I truly appreciate it. I do try and offer different suggestions when possible. As I have said in many of these responses, you just don't want to know the defects of the home; you want to UNDERSTAND the home as a whole. Many people, including the ones who really know there stuff, say that's it's like a learning lesson. I think it's great! They come out with a whole new perspective on the home. I'm glad that you now understand the home too. Thanks again and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

When you find a great home at a great price your immediate reaction is there must be a catch. After reading through all of Brent's reviews, my reaction was the same...no one could be THAT satisfied with a home inspector. Well, now I can see why Brent gets 10s all around. He cares about his job, he cares about the people he's helping, and he knows how to explain things without using panic as a marketing ploy. He's passionate about everything, including handrails! He came early, checked out the exterior, walked me through the whole house and explained everything clearly. A great sense of humour also made the hours go by a lot quicker than I expected! That same night he sent us the pictures of our house. The binder he filled out with us is also very useful. He even promised us that we could call him in 5 years if we have a question about anything (we might just take you up on that offer!) Brent is everything you could ask for in a home inspector. Now, if only we could find his duplicate in every field, we'd be set for life.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback Pedram !!! It is very much appreciated!!! I'm glad that you were happy with the inspection. You raise an interesting point; using fear as a marketing tool. Let me tell you, paranoia is running rampant right now with everything. There are a lot of companies making a lot of money right now using fear. If I was to tell people certain things about their home which I know that they don't know about, they probably wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning. Although I cannot "downplay" issues, I do use a practical, realistic approach when doing the home inspection. There's not always a simple fix when addressing an issue, however in many cases, there is. A home inspector should be advising inexpensive alternatives when possible, (trust me, the contractors won't be). How many ridiculous quotes have I seen when people were being taken advantage of? Lots! Yes, always please feel free to contact me! Anytime. Thanks again and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections

    Home Inspection

We liked Brent. He was thorough, friendly and reasonably priced. Anyone who buys a house without an inspection is nuts. He's also skinny, so he was able to squeeze through a REALLY small opening to inspect our attic. Call Brent!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback John and Patricia !!! It is so much appreciated! I don't know if a person is "nuts" without getting a home inspector for their purchase. However, there is somewhat of an unnessary gamble to take. I don't tell people that they "gotta" get a home inspection. All I tell people is to get a "legit" one if they do. There's too many bad inspectors out there just to tell someone to get an inspection done. Now come on, I'm not "skinny". I perfer the word "svelte" ;-) There's no question about it, some of those attic accesses make me feel like I should be trying out for Cirque du Soleil. However, I gotta get in it! Thanks again for the feedback, I am glad that you were happy. Thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    home inspection

After read so many positive reviews on the homestars, we decided to ask Brent as our home inspector. Brent told us he will need approximately 4 hours for the inspection. But guess what, he spent almost 6 hours with us. He's so enthusiastic with his work and he is very knowledgeble and patient. We have never owned a house and we had so many questions, but he took the time and answered every question we ask. He pointed every deficiency and taught us many maintainance tips. He also make sure we understand what's urgent and what can wait. With our request, he also helped to give estimation of the cost for fix and how should those be fixed. We arranged the inspection at 4:30pm, we arrived sharp but found that Brent has inspected the surroundings of the house twice. Last but not least, Brent, we are sorry to let you know that the seller and the seller agent hated you... But that just make us more confident that we got the right person!!! We would definately like to recomment him to anyone who needs a responsible and qualified home inspector!!

    Answer from pro:

Ahhh Xin ... first off, thank you for the feedback. I truely appreciate it! This was an interesting case. Number one, it was a big home. Number two, it did have some pretty serious issues. Number three, I really don't care what the listing agent thought of me. I mean, I do care, but not ones that know of the issues regarding the home and try and downplay some pretty serious stuff. You wanted answers and I gave them to you. I'm honest about things. I have to be. I mean really, you don't have to be a real estate agent to figure out why a house hasn't sold in eight months on the market. (or whatever it was). I would doubt that I was the first home inspector to go in and find those issues. Anyways. I hope in the end it all works out for you guys. Thanks again for the feedback and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

Brent from Classic Home Inspections Inc is professional and very thorough. He looks not only at the current problems, if any, but at the small details which could be improved so that problems do not occur in the future. He takes his time to comment on what he does, what he looks at and explained the general operation of the house (gas lines, furnace, etc) so that we have no surprises or problems at the time of moving. Any question you have, he will take the time to answer. I will recommend him without any hesitation!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback Gen in the "Beach", as it is officially known as. I'm glad that you were happy with the inspection. That was a super nice home down in the Beach. An area where I happen to love to inspect. It is certainly one of the more unique areas of Toronto. Gen, when I was doing the inspection, you had asked if you should "tag" along. My response to everyone is "Of course"! I want to you fully understand the home. Every detail. Don't just send an inspector in and wait for he/she to come out with defects. There's more to a home than just defects. Understanding the home is key. Esp. if future issues were to arise and you wanted to know how to do something (ie: shut off gas to fireplace) ... Always feel free to contact me if you ever have questions regarding the home. Thanks again Gen and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    New Home Inspection

After reading a review on Homestars, I decided to hire Brent to inspect my new home. he inspected my home last week in Vaughan. Nice guy, on time and very, very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him for this service. You won't be disappointed.

    Answer from pro:

Ouch Rippedoff in Vaughan! When I first read the opening I thought that me who was the one ripping you off !!! Thank you so much for the feedback!!! Maybe you can state you concerns right here on Homestars if you were unhappy with your homebuilder. I won't lie, some areas were a little weak with workmanship. I tend to find better work done when I am inspecting a smaller home builders property though. Believe it or not, I have seen much, much worse. Major issues like structual issues have been ignored. Electrical issues are common. So don't feel too bad ! I'm sure in the end it will all work out and you will have a happy home ! Thanks again and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections !!!
