    Home inspection

Brent was personable, extremely thorough and patient. Although my husband was more well versed, Brent was still very enthusiastic to explain details to me. His persistence to ensure everything was covered from all angles was very reassuring - for peace of mind, he even took the initiative to send a sample of the garage wall to a lab in Florida to determine if asbestos was present and provided economical yet safe solutions to manage if that was the case! His prompt follow-up and customer focus was exceptional! Highly recommend!

    Answer from pro:

Hey Elita and Arthur! Thank you for the feedback. Again, here was a situation where you were both as enthusiastic as I was to inspect the home. I love when people are this way! People don't want a home inspector going in and just report a bunch of negative things regarding the home, you want to know everything! You want a "feel for the home", get to know its personality. Hey you're going to be living here! There was a bit of a issue in the garage that I wanted to have cleared up before you start to clean. It was just a precaution. As for customer service- I try! Thanks again and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

Brent was able to help us with a home inspection on very short notice. He was incredibly professional, through with amazing attention to details. The report is through and will provide a great reference for future repair and renovation. Brent left no stone unturned. Thank you again.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback Maureen! It is much appreciated. I truly try to be as through as possible. Could you have imagined it I hadn't gone up onto that roof?! Some home inspectors can't be bothered. If you can believe that. I'm glad that you were happy with the inspection and the report that I use. I seem to only have positive feedback from it. It is very informative, without it being "overdone". I am glad that you felt that no stone was left unturned. I wouldn't leave the property until you were truly satisfied. Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

Knowledgeable, Friendly gave great advise. Everything Brent warned us about unfortunately has come true, but at least we know where to look to find professional help. Thanks for everything Brent and you will be seeing more of me in the future.

    House Inspection

Brent Jeffreys carefully, patiently and thoroughly inspected every relevant area of our home. He left us with pictures, a folder and a summary of vital information we can use to forestall repairs and maximize the soundness of our house. The cost was based on the size of our home, which is larger than average. We are very happy we called him and highly recommend him!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback "Flooded" (you weren’t kidding'). I very much appreciate it. When you had initially called me and had told me your situation, I truly did not realize the extensive damage that I would be looking at. On the inspection, as I was looking around, I thought to myself, "Why do bad things sometimes happen to such nice people?" However, I could see that you and your husband are far too strong to allow something like this to bring you down in life. I could see that you goal was now to focus on the positive side of things and move forward. No point and dwelling on the negative. I'm sure that when it's all said and done, that the whole thing will be not necessarily forgotten about, (although that would be nice) but you've simply moved forward. Yes, I do base my fees on the size of the home. Here’s one for you, some inspectors base their fees on the value of the home. I would be curious as to what they would have charged you in that neighborhood! Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!!!

New Home - 30 Day Inspection

Brent was very detailed, professional and friendly. Took a good 3 hours to complete the inspection and highlighted some structural shortcomings that I would have never known. I'm sure new home buyers come with varying levels of experience but never would I have known what a moisture wrap around my foundation was, and how it could lead to potential leaks in the basement. As with most other reviewers, I was thoroughly satisfied. I was also given a detailed manual of the inspection plus pictures of the home both interior and exterior, some that pointed out the defects (glad there weren't too many). Very open and honest in answering questions, all in all, a good experience. I wouldn't bat an eyelid before recommending Classic Home Inspections.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback "Cold as Ice"!!! (Geez, I hope your furnace is working!) I'm glad that not only did I inform you of the issues with your home, but also informed you a little as to what components are, what they do, and how they work. I try and make it an "experience" . Doing just a simple home inspection would be boring. You want know the home inside out. Hey you're living there, and you want to know every little detail! I've only ever heard positive feedback with the reports that I use. Their simple to understand, thorough, and loaded with great infomation regarding a home. That's why I choose to use them. I've seen other reports that were nothing shy of pathetic. One to two pages of checkboxes that anyone could have filled in. Makes me wonder if the inspector was concerned about doing a proper inspection, or just filling something in to make it seem like they are. I'm glad that you were happy with everything. Thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    1 Year Home Inspection

Brent came by and helped us out with our 1 year home inspection. The wife and I thought we had very minor issues, but Brent pointed out some things wrong with the house that we missed or that were against code. He provided helpful comments and insight in terms of what will be covered under Tarion and what wouldn't. I would highly recommend Brent. Anyone on the fence on whether they should pay for an inspection or do it themselves, I'd say it's totally worth the price. On top of this, don't skimp out and call Brent already!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback Ron! It is much appreciated! New homes can be very interesting; you would think there would be next to nothing wrong with the home (after all, you paid for perfection). However, they do have they're problems just like older homes. Certainly not all homebuilders, but many can get a little lazy and the workmanship becomes somewhat questionable. More important, some have a bad habit of "brushing people off”. I have done one year inspections where people have shown me the 30 day report and the builder has yet to address some of those issues! Makes you wonder what exactly is going on with these groups. Anyway, on a positive note, it did seem minimal with issues regarding your home. (believe it or not) Hopefully they will address them soon. Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home inspection

As first time homebuyers, we really had no idea what we were getting ourself into or what to look for. Brent took the time to answer all our questions and even explain things we had no idea about. We had read our fair share of home inspector reviews before going with Brent and it seemed as though many wouldn't have gone as much into detail as Brent did. Brent spent half hour on the roof alone (semi detached house too), probably inspected the furnace for a good 20 minutes and got right up into the attic too. This is all on a home thats only 5 years old too! Brent took the time to go through the binder with all the information in it and also sent us dozens of pictures of everything from the foundation to the attic on the same night of the inspection! We couldn't have been more happy than we are with Brent. He provided us with peace of mind in buying this home and for a great price too. I would strongly recommend him for any type of home inspection. Thanks for everything Brent!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Tim and Brit for the feedback! I truly appreciate it! You know, at the end of that inspection I came to one conclusion, a super nice house for a super nice couple. I'm more than sure you will be happy with your purchase. Yes 5 year old homes can have their problems. Just look at the guy across the street from the home we inspected! In regards to time spent on inspecting certain components, hey, these things need to be looked at. If it takes me a little longer so be it. You're buying a home here! My goal is to have you understand the home in its entirety. I do inspections for first time buyers and tenth time home buyers. All come away learning something new about the home. Please Tim, always feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections.

    Home Inspection

I did quite a bit of research, looking for the right home inspector, but in the end I trusted Brent because of all of these third party reviews (everyone says they're great on their own website, so what? Listen to what others say). Although I needed him in a very short notice, a home in very good condition took a while for Brent to pick through, he was so detail oriented. I also chose him because I'd heard that he really enjoys talking you through your home, and I wanted to perform as many of the fix-ups myself; he told me where to go, what to get as a valuable solution, and how to do it. I had ideas for some changes as well, and he wanted me to ask as many questions as I can come up with during his stay as well as in the future. I came home and he'd sent me many photos of the whole house, including all the roofs that he climbed onto. He politely asked a neighbour for permission to use their second floor deck to climb onto my top roof, he really didn't leave anything out of sight. He was extremely helpful, took pride in the fact that people trusted his expertise, and enjoyed it with enthusiasm, curiosity and a great sense of humour. I'll most likely stay in touch with him as he recommended, and I will recommend him to everyone. He's not the only home inspector I've dealt with, but he is the ideal one.

    Answer from pro:

Wow! What a review Sal! Thank you so much for the feedback. You were very wise to do your homework when shopping around for a home inspector. I'm not saying that because you chose me. However, you definitely want someone in there who is a least "legit". Anyways, the funny thing is Sal, I could have actually stuck around longer. I always love listening to peoples ideas with the home, and hopefully, I can be of help with suggestions, both economical solutions and what will be more money. It's great when people such as yourself bounce ideas off me, firstly because it get me thinking, secondly I can store the information and try and help others in the future. In regards to the roof, your roof was kind of tricky to get onto, but I did what I had to get onto it. Your future neighbors’ not the first door that I've banged onto getting permission to get up onto someone’s roof. It helped that she was super nice and if anything, it breaks the ice in getting to know them. That was a gem of an Annex home, and I think you should be happy with your purchase. Please always feel free to contact me. Thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Century Home Inspection

Brent was very professional and thorough. He went out of his way to meet us at our new home in Barrie and was on time which was great! He explained to me all the things that he was doing and offered very valuable insight and commented on areas that were a problem or may be a problem in the future. He was very honest, friendly and knowledgeable. He was very clear, detailed and thorough with all aspects of the house took lots of pictures and provided a full inspection report when he was complete. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a home inspection. I can see why he won the Best of ’08 for Home Inspections.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback guys!!! I really appreciate it! There was a couple of interesting things on this inspection up in Barrie. The pre-listing inspection (which I never really trust) did not pick up on the knob and tube wiring. The LICENCED electrician said there was no knob and tube wiring in the home. So why did I show the listing agent and you the active knob and tube wiring right on the main floor? Every home inspector knows that some electricians get lazy and just piggyback onto the old knob and tube when they get to the main and top floors. To cap it off, not realizing that the drywall in the bathroom was incorrect? (It was completely exposed, the bathroom was under renovation) This guy's a home inspector? He should go back to school and learn something. Anyways no more ranting. That was a gorgeous 1880's home up in Barrie. I would have spent all day in that home! I hope that I eased Jason’s mind a little about the asbestos throughout the home. It is a little misunderstood. However, he was probably wise having me take samples and sending off to the Lab for further review. Thanks again guys and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home inspections

Now I know why Brent was best in '08. During the home inspection he was patient, thorough, and courteous. He completely exceeded my expectations and I will never use another home inspection company. Thank you for all of your time and knowledge.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback Jermey !!! I really appreciate it ! I think we both had fun going through the property. That was certainly a nice Markham home. I looked at your review and said to myself "exceeded his expectations ? " Hey I wasn't lying when I told you on the initial phone call that we are going through this property with a fine tooth comb ! I would never have left the property until you were completely safisfied with going over everything and understanding everything with what was going on. Hopefully, you and your wife should be quite happy with your purchase. I'm glad you were happy with the inspection. Thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections !
