Cornell roofing was fine to deal with until the new roof started to LEAK. While I understand that mistakes to happen the water seeping through the roof speaks for itself in regard to quality. Tt is their horrible follow-up that compelled me to write my first review. Mike at Cornell will NOT RESPOND IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, calls, emails and messages are unanswered. They do NOT honour their warranties and don't even have the courtesy to call back.

Needed to have my shingles replaced on my bungalow and garage. Cost of job was below the mid-point of the quotes we had. Mike was very accessible before and during the job. Followup requests were handled promptly. Good workmanship, workers were courteous and professional. Very pleasant experience.

The company used a team of four employees and the job was completed in one day. They were fairly good at ensuring no nails were on the grass and driveway.

We have a few issues with this company. First, they delay the work until the middle of winter. The roof we have now looks very terrible – it is all uneven!! I suspect that they could not do a proper job during the cold winter. Secondly, they did not honor their contract. Our contract spells out that a 6-foot water and ice protection layer will be installed before the shingles. However, we found out they were only doing 3 feet while they were putting the shingles on the roof. When we question, Mike said the money we paid won’t cover the material cost and the guy who did the estimate was let go by the company; therefore, they did not have to follow the contract. Lastly, they did not keep the promise of their warranty. We found a piece of shingle fell off from the roof in the spring and call up the company to address the issue. Cole had come to have a look sometimes before the summer and said will come back to have that fix. Months gone by, they never come back. We have been calling Mike and Cole many times now since June. I think Cole was very annoyed that he hangs up on me. We had left message to Mike and he never return the call. Now, we have a bare spot on the roof to expose to the winter to come!!

I hired Cornell because of the high Homestar ratings and at first was quite happy with the job they did. Then the problems started and we have had nothing but headaches since. Mike has stopped returning our calls, leaving us in the lurch. Good guy until something goes wrong - really unprofessional !! It started as a standard re-roofing job. During the pre-inspection process he said that two of the plywood sheets were "soft" but they said they were fine overall, no need to change them. They never inspected from the inside. They just put on the new shingles and we moved on. A year later we wanted to re-insulate the attic. The contractor found mold underneath the sheeting of our new roof. At first, Mike seemed cooperative and agreed to work with us to replace the roof at cost. Then he stopped showing up for appointments. And finally just stopped returning phone calls and emails. We're considering a lawsuit now.

Mike and his crew showed up to replace the roof on our 3 storey home and adjacent 2 storey coach house. The work was completed within 1 week - during the winter! They also came by several times for clean up (ensuring no nails were left on our property). Their follow up and customer service is 10+++. They even stopped by our home months later as Mike noticed there should have been an extra vent on the roof (we didn't even know). That was promptly repaired - no problem. If you're looking for a job well done, we highly recommend Cornell Roofing Inc. Thanks guys for a great job. You've made our home look beautiful! A friend of mine used Cornell Roofing...so after getting 6 quotes from other companies - I elected to give these guys a call. I was impressed with the work that was done. Cole and 4 guys showed up on the day we finally scheduled in (bit of a weather delay...but what can ya do? It's weather....no one controls that)....and quickly got down to business. My roof was quickly stripped...some old wood was replaced...and the work was done as per my requirements. The job couldn't be completed in one day...it was winter after all - so daylight is at a premium. Cole showed up the next day as promised - and finished off the roof. The clean up was pretty good....but with it being winter, and there being snow on the ground....I'm sure I'll find some bits and pieces in the spring. That doesn't bother me at all...and it isn't a reflection of the work. Cole said if I wanted someone to swing by in the spring to clean up...that all I needed to do was call him. From what I've seen....it looks like an awesome roof! Call Cole on his cell....he's a busy guy - so you won't get him in the office.

Cornell Roofing replaced my roof last October and their work has stood up well to the different types of weather since then. There have been no problems. The crew showed up on time and completed the job in less than a day for the estimated amount. The only reason I didn't give a 10 was that they almost never phoned back when they said they would - it is important to get their cell phone number! However, the quality of their work is excellent.

We had our shingles replaced by Cornell Roofing. Chevy was very nice to talk with and helped us decide the various types of shingles and different products available underneath them. The installation date went well. All his workers were hard working, thorough, and professional and the end result showed it. Thanks Cornell. Job Well Done ! Mike works with Cornell in replacing or adding insulation. We got the insulation added to our attic and it has lowered the 2nd floor temperatures especially when its really hot outdoors.

Cornell Roofing was a pleasure to deal with. Chevy the estimator provided a very competitive quote and promptly and patiently answered all my questions. He did not try to sell us things we did not need even though it probably would have meant a larger commission for him. The job was started and completed when promised and at the price quoted. The crew was very courteous and did a good clean up of our property - having cars, kids and a dog we appreciate that no stray nails were left on the property. Our last roofing experience at a different house and with a different company resulted in a few roof vents not being installed and then being billed twice even though we had promptly paid the first invoice - this experience was much better! We would definately recommend Cornell Roofing. Thank you Chevy, Mike and your crew.
