Technician Said They Don't Fix Condo ACs

I called Enercare to have some repair work done on my condo's AC and signed up for their monthly plan. My condo is currently rented to a tenant. The service rep I spoke with was wonderful and noted down the details. I specifically mentioned during the call this was for repair work on the AC unit in my condo. It's not a huge, central building AC - every suite has their own self contained AC (not a blower.) When the technician arrived, the technician apparently told my tenant that they don't fix AC units in condos?!?!?! WHAT?!?! Instead, I'm left with a bill for $99 +HST for something that, if true, TOTALLY should have been mentioned during my first call. Pretty frustrating. I'm giving 2 stars only because the service rep I spoke with during the booking call was very pleasant.

Furnace Maintenance - Don't Jut Walk Away - Run!

Enercare has been my furnace cleaner and service repair company for about 4 years. When considering options regarding a new AC and furnace, I kept getting conflicting stories from Enercare. First, about what products are available and sold in Ottawa (they were incorrect), then about my contract. One rep explained that I had renewed my contract last December which was not true. When I demonstrated that inaccuracy, another said that when I signed up 4 years ago I agreed orally to automatic renewals without their giving any notices, but that I could cut costs by eliminating the cleaning portion. When I wanted to take the cheaper option, I was told I would have to take a new contract that would last much longer. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED with such poor customer service

    A/C service

Service is part of the monthly fee package that I pay to Enercare. This provides an annual furnace service check and an annual check of my air conditioning unit. Very pleased with the service.

    home plan

DO NOT PURCHASE THE HOME PROTECTION PLAN! It is more frustration than convenience, I am shocked at the lack of customer service and accountability. Every service call takes multiple visits and our last service call was a nightmare. The technician called in with a window and then never showed up when I followed up he said he forgot. I called enercare and was told I would get a call back in 72 hours, that was almost two weeks ago. It seems their technique is to never allow customers past their gate keepers so they dont actually have to deal with customer issues and concerns. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

    water heater

We've had 2 enercare technician's in to fix our water heating tank issues (no hot water). Second was worse than first. First 'looked' at tank, declared it fine & left. Second, had me burn my hand by asking me to touch pipe (I had assumed it would be like touching the outside of a warm oven; wrong - I required ice on hand rest of appt.)... still - fixed nothing & we have 3 young children & no hot water. Will be looking to hire someone else.

    Enercare Home Water Heater Rental

I moved out of my student apartment with Enercare water heater rental over a year ago (closed the account, informed customer service that a new student would be coming in etc.). However, I have received two bills since then, the first 10 months after moving out and the second 13 months after. Called to deal with this after the first bill - said it was taken care of, obviously was not. Additionally, there is no explanation to accompany the charges. When I call CS, I get no real explanation and each call takes 40+ minutes as every question I ask, I am put on hold and receive no actual answer in the end anyway. Now I owe a $75 cancellation fee, which was (of course) not mentioned when I actually called to cancel my account a month prior to my departure. Classy. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend.

    furnace repair

My furnace was down. I called and got an appointment that night. The window was 4 hours, but the technician called and offered to come early. He (Larry) traced the problem, got the part and had the furnace back up in no time. Then he showed me some tips for maintaining the furnace and when to have the dehumidifier on. Very helpful and informative. Highly recommended.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Greg- Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback, I will certainly pass your note along to Larry!
