Poor service only care about selling protection plans

Furnace was not working. Called enercare to repair the problem. They do not care about providing a good service with their main goal being to sell a coverage plan. Their diagnosis of furnace problem was done quickly and was inaccurate and felt pressured to purchase a monthly coverage plan. I sought second opinion from Simply Comfort who spent time to diagnose the problem correctly and provide the best service possible.

    Boiler inspection and cleaning

Just wanted to let you know that today a fine young man called Andre came to inspect and clean the boiler. He was extremely efficient and meticulous, not to mention being very personable and helpful with information about the boiler and water heater. Excellent service! Much better than last year's appointment which was not nearly as thorough. Very pleased with the service call.

    Answer from pro:

Hi there - Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback, I will certainly pass your note along to Andre!

Not hot water since December, 2016

Worst company, very dishonest, not taking responsibility, will say anything t o cover up. I volunteered to get my hot water tank checked, as we bought our new home, wanted to know if it was sound. Gift tagged because of a B-vent. Issue was they aren't able to climb as they need a cherry picker, rules is under 3 meters, they can climb under that height. Goes on, Please try to find some other company

    Maintenance Contract

Home Care came into my home under a furnance maintenance contract. Ever since that first visit it has been one mistake after another. Enercare RED LINED my hot water tank that they INITIALLY incorrectly installed. When they sent Techs in to move the tank, they apparently needed to also move a drainage hose from my humidifier. After they left I had a flood in my laundry room caused by the drainage hose they move. Enercare came back AGAIN to apparently fix this issue. So NOW I have the PUMP going every 5-10 minutes. I moved the drainage hose into a large bucket & guess what the pump is not going every 5 minutes. Again NEVER had this issue before Enercare came in. Enercare have had THREE chances to fix, I asked Enercare to let me call a third party & Enercare pay the bill. Apparently I NEED TO WAIT three business days to wait for someone to call me back. DON'T DO IT!!!! DON'T GET HOOKED INTO A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

    Ener(doesn't)care

Called to cancel a heating protection plan as I had a new furnace and A/C installed by a local contractor who beat the Enercare quote by over $3000!! Was advised that my plan had automatically renewed two months ago and that I would have to pay the remaining 10 months to get out of the contract. Over an hour on the phone and no resolution. Moral of the story-Don't use this company.

    Answer from pro:

Hi JM- A reminder is sent annually prior to the renewal anniversary date alerting you that your plan is set to renew. Similar to most contracts, there are costs associated with opting out of the contract early. To review the Terms and Conditions of your contract, please see here: https://www.enercare.ca/sites/default/files/assets/library/pdfs/enercare_terms_and_conditions_nov_21_2016.pdf

    service

For the last 5 years i have paid for a “Heating Maintenance Plan with Enercare, which costs $9.99 a month. Under this maintenance plan, as a customer I have the right to have my furnace checked once year. In October this year I called Enercare to have my maintenance visit. When I called to book the visit i explained I have the maintenance plan. The technician came, checked the furnace that was ok, but the thermostat was a little bit lose. The technician changed the thermostat and advised me if I upgrade my plan from " Heating Maintenance Plan" which cost $9.99/monthly) to "Heating Protection Plan", 23.99/monthly, I would not pay for labour. I upgraded it and when got my next bill Enercare had charged me $111.87 for the visit PLUS $79,92 for the Heating Maintenance Plan I have called several times to dispute and now Enercare refunded me the $79.99 and is charging me the $23.99 +plus tax a months, but refuse to refund the $111.87 for the visit.

dishwasher repair and dishonest contract practises

Have been paying through the nose for a long time. Cannot get out of contract because never receive the renewal notice that conveniently goes into my "email thrash". Finally needed a dishwasher repair, techie comes over. Cannot fix it but leaves us with a chipped kitchen counter, a dishwasher that now does not work at all anymore (over the holidays), and breaks the pipe and now we have a leak which destroys ceiling in bathroom downstairs. Have to deal with sassy Enercare reps on the phone to finally get someone to fix the pipe. No apologies, no solutions. My husband fixes the ceiling out of pure frustration and they tell us to wait for another month before it can be fixed. What a total joke this company is. BE CAREFUL and don't sign up with Enercare.

    Water heater repair

Enercare technician arrived same day; went back to his depot for the parts; returned and installed them. The $777.00 cost was totally covered by our protection plan. I couldn't want better than that.
