    Enercare for furnace maintenance

I use Enercare for my furnace maintenance. I book an appt online, very easy and quick process. The technician was very professional, quick and did a great job. Would strongly recommend for maintenance anyway. I had no other dealing with this company.

    Plumbing and Drain Protection Plane

Ebercare is tricking the customers by offering a deal, a discounted plan price, for the first year. Once we are in, they keep renewing the plans for the years after without notifying the customers with the price they like. They did that to me for 3 years. I spent tens of hours with them on the phone trying to convince them that I requested to cancel the plan, but they kept moving me from one agent to another for hours. They told me if I cancel the plan I will be charged for the rest of the year. The agents were not honest with the information they give me, and enforced me to switch to cheaper plan that I don't need, just to save a couple of dollars on the useless plumbing plan.

    Answer from pro:

Hi John- For the convenience of our customer's, the renewal of a protection plan is an automatic process unless the customer has given prior notice to the renewal date or within 10 days after the renewal date that they do not wish to renew coverage, or that we have given notice prior to the renewal date that coverage will not be renewed. This process is to provide peace of mind so customer's do not have to call year after year to confirm renewal, and to ensure that they aren't left without protection if forgotten. The terms of the renewal process and discount you mentioned would have been outlined in the Welcome Package you recieved upon entering into this plan. I do apologize for the confusion and experience you've had and hope that I provided some clarity on this procedure. If you have any more questions feel free to email me at support@enercare.ca and I'd be happy to help. Thanks ~ Kira

    Misled and overcharged! Be Aletr!!!!!!

I had a verbal contract for over 3years for Total Home Protection Plan, Heating and cooling Maintenance plan and when we sold our house and I called to let the company know that I am moving they advised me that my contract is not over with them and they cant cancel it for me. I spoke to the customer service representative for over 40 min and we came to understanding that the plan will be put on hold and I can reinstate it as soon as we move int our new home that is not completed yet. I was told by the rep that I will not be charged at this time and since our conversation is being recorded I repeat myself 3 times to make sure I understood correctly! To my surprise, when I received mt bill, I had a charge of $512.03 billed in full for the remained of the contract all at once!!!! I was very upset and called Enercare to see if it was a mistake. i was told that it is my right to request the recording of my previous conversation and i requested to escalate the request to supervisor. I was informed that it will took a few days to pull the recording and that some one will contact me. I made it clear that I want the recording because it will prove that I was promised not to be charged. Since that conversation, I spoke to 3 more employees of Enercare, all of then advising me of the same thing. Today I finally got a call from the supervisor Michelle(employee # 186302) who told me that I was given the wrong information all along, and the RECORDING WILL NOT BE PULLED AND LISTEN TO!!!! and that I should just pay the bill! I asked to speak to her supervisor and she informed me that there is no one else to talk to and she will be making the final decision in my case. I felt bullied and misled! How can 4 employees of Enercare all be giving me wrong information and I have no no one to help me solve my problem! After paying my bill for over 3 years this is how I was treated! I guess loyalty and customer service means nothing for Enercare! I hope this will help other consumers and I will still be pursuing this further!

Hi Inga- I apologize for this experience and the confusion regarding your Total Home Protection Plan. Plans are transferable to new residences, provided you move within our service area. The charge you received was the unused portion of your plan, which you would have been credited for at your new residence. This moves process is outlined the Welcome Package that you would have received when you initiated your plan. You can also find the terms and conditions here https://www.enercare.ca/sites/default/files/assets/library/pdfs/dhs1042_ppwlcmebk2013_web_fin.pdf If you have any more questions please email me at support@enercare.ca. Gas water tank inspection

The technician was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He respected me and my home. He gave an understandable explanation of his inspection, the reason for his recommendation, and an estimate of possible charges. In addition, he pointed out some other problems I wasn't aware of, and left everything neat and tidy. I am confident that I have enough information to make some decisions.

    Rental Hot Water Tank Install

Install was fast and clean. The crew was on time, friendly and explained what they were doing when I asked. I just bought this house, came with a 15 year old rental tank. I called Enercare and they sent out a rep the next day. A week later a brand new tank came. If the rest of the company is as professional as the installation crew we had I would recommend for sure.

    Hot Water Tank

Think twice before renting a water heater from them. I purchased a house with a rental water heater and the company changed the terms and conditions without notifying me or the previous owner and now I have to pay 500 dollars to buy a 6 years old electrical water tank. The previous owner or myself were not notified of the terms and conditions change and now I have to abide by them. Companies like these should not be allowed to make changes without the notification and consent of their customers in a contract or ammendment. I feel like the company is taking advantage of me and they are operating under the Judicial radar. Timeline: - 1980s - Original Owners rented from Direct Energy sometime in the 80s (Return policy is 75$ pick up fee) - ?? - Business becomes Enercare - 2010 Oct - Enercare Changes their terms and conditions and now you can't return the water tunk but you have to buy it out - 2010 Nov - 1 Month after changing their terms and conditions Enercare installs a new water tank in the property without telling the owner about the NO RETURN POLICY and about the NEW BUY-OUT term (no signed contract or official communication to the previous owner is available) - 2013 Nov - I purchase the property and I am informed that I can return the water tank if I want to based on the contract signed by - 2016 Mar - I call enercare to ask them to pick up the tank and I'm told I have to buy it out for ... wait for it... $500. For a 6 years old Electrical Water Tank.

    Hot water tank

We recently had two employees come out two days apart. The one guy we had on Tuesday the 29th of May, was very courteous and helpful. Our latest experience today was totally different. We had water in our basement. We worked all day and came home to 5 inches of water in our basement . We worked all night till 10 pm to dry things up. We recently bought the house a couple of years ago and this has never happened . The technician was rude in telling me that I better get the water cleared up from around the tank and that the next time this happens it won't be covered. We work all day, not home to monitor what goes on during the day totally wasn't our fault but felt like he was blaming me. We just purchased the plumbing plan . It's a rental that is yours and it's sitting on the ground not raised up on patio blocks. If you require pictures I will send you some. Wasn't a good experience.

    plumbing issue

I am so far disappointed with ongoing service , after good words by ennercare we decided to go for plumbing option thinking we will be in better hands but never knew that a technician can easily walk in and say that you need a a new toilet as the water is full of calcium...and lay down all the charges per hour with 15 % discount or can say...I am sorry i do not see the drain block and can not do anything... or ...toilet flush stopped now...but if there is clog...do not flush or repai...if the drain blocks again...let the filth stay on float...as the ennercare would love to see the that as proof of the damage is more important than all the rosy words mentioned... Wish my concerns goes to those who really cares this company as the caring one.

    Plumbing repair for broken pipe

We turned on our outdoor water tap too early and the pipe burst. Not an emergency as we turned off the tap and leak stopped. Called Enercare on Easter Weekend and they booked for first thing Monday morning which was fine with us. Plumber was on time, efficient, polite, clean and tidy and explained everything to us before leaving. Excellent service.
