    HVAC Service

Reminder's sent when inspection should be scheduled. Never missed the appointment scheduled based on tech availability. Went through an emergency service call while watching over a neighbour home which experienced a furnace failure on the family day week end in 2015. Service was efficient and although not being the owner of the home, everything went smooth and service restored prior to sustaining possible damages in the house due to extremely cold weather outside.

Emergency Repair of Furnace under their Maintenace/Warranty Plan

Totally horrified at the horrible service and serious errors made by this company in getting my 77 year old parent's furnace working again when temps are dropping below 0 at night! In a nutshell, 6 days...yes 6 days to get their furnace working again, under warranty, after Enercare (yeah, they sure do "care") screwed up ordering a new motor. AND....not sure if its in the fine print of their "maintenance and protection plans", but PARTS ARE NOT DELIVERED ON WEEKENDS!!! So all you protection plan subscribers, make sure your HVAC unit breaks down early in the week (read: sarcasm) if a part needs to be ordered!! Thank God they had have a fireplace and that the daytime temps were still warm enough to keep the house at a liveable temperature (around 66 degrees C). If this was middle of winter, they likely would have had to abandon the house and try to keep enuf heat just to keep pipes from freezing. My parents have been paying the monthly fee for Enercare's heating maintenance and protection plan for many years. They realized on a Friday morning that furnace was not working, called and technicians arrived within 4 hours same day. They pull furnace apart and find motor is dead. Supposedly order is placed for new motor. Parents hear nothing Friday. Starting Saturday, they call 4-5 times a day to get nowhere. They are told parts are not delivered on weekends. WOW thanks God this was not middle of winter!!!. Finally, Monday, get a rep that admits an error and that part was not ordered. Said part should arrive Monday or Tuesday morning latest. Nothing Monday. Tuesday morning, nothing. Call back and say it will arrive 3 pm Wed. Unfreggin' believable. So we wait now for the part to arrive. Hopefully techs will come right away so they have heat Wed night!! Absolutely pathetic. What makes this even more of an issue is that my parents are getting up there in age so something like this, including the stress of dealing with useless customer service reps and getting no where, has much more impact on them. I am not sure what a young family with babies would do in such a situation...go to family, friends or hotel?? Seeing my parents deal with this is upsetting to say the least. Needless to say, they will be cancelling their plan. Frankly, the money they have spend in protection plan over so many years, they could have paid for a new motor three times over. If I could give a negative rating, I would.

In my previous residence I had a rental hot water heater from direct energy. When it came time to replace it, everything was handled professionally and easily. . . . .

    Appliance Repair

We sent a registered letter to this company requesting an explanation why it would almost take a month to have an appliance repaired. They letter was delivered & signed for on October 7, 2015. To date no-one has contacted us .We have also sent a copy of the same letter through their website. Does this reflect on how your company views and deals with their customers ??

    Answer from pro:

    HVAC Service

A "Climec" representative came to my house, on behalf of your company. "Climec" has serviced my furnaces and air conditioners (i have two houses) for many years, and the technicians who work for this company are exceptional. I do not work at Climec, and I don't have any family members or friends who work there, I want you to know that. This just is an exceptional company. They give the best personal, friendly, efficient service. They come to your door with a smile, they are polite and respectful of your property/house. They answer all your questions and give you advice when you ask for it. Best of all, recently is that when they give you a "4 hour window", they manage to come within the first hour-- that is super important as it demonstrates a respect for the customer's time. I have never received this kind of service from any other company, Climec is in a class of its own. This is the only service call I make where I don't have to worry about wasting my time or getting the job done quickly and efficiently. I have written to Climec in the past about one of their senior techs, Dereck Watson, who should get an award for the kind of service he gives. But a number of equally good techs have come to my house. The tech who came on Sunday did not give me a paper bill, so I can't tell you his name, but he was wonderful.

    HVAC Service

The man was very friendly. we have a dog and he was patient, allowed the dog to come to him and get to know him. We had intended to keep him in another room but he did not want to stress him out. Very clean and considerate to wash out rags he used, wash out the laundry room sink of any residue. answered any questions i had. I was considering cancelling the program for next year as previous years have not been happy with the service person. He has definitely made me rethink it!
