    Furnace

I had a maintenance service for my furnace, the service man showed up and drilled a hole in mt furnace to stick a camera in it. He then said I havd a hole in the heat exhanger and hd nedfs to shut it down and said need a new furnace or I might die from carnon minoxide. I have 4 carbon minoxide sensors in my home which never went off. They sent a sales person who tried to sell me an $11k furnace, but hold on! Tried convincing me I should rent it which would cost me $27k over a 13 yr period! The temperature was -5 that night and i couldn't turn on my furnace because it was tagged. The next morning, after sleeping with my clothes on and 3 blankets, I called another HVAC specialist. He did a thorough inspection, testing the aid quality at multiple points inside, and outside at the exhaust. Checked the heat exchange. Well, there id no hole and he said i don't need a new furnace or anything. My unit is working fine. What kind of sham is Enercare trying to pull?

    Water heater

I am happy to say that the service technician did a very good job of checking and fixing what was wrong with the water not heating enough. He was very patient and took time to explain everything.

Enercare 1yr Htg service plan has no capability to do a preventative maintenance via service manual

We live in Ontario and entered into a 1 year maintenance / service agreement for our residential Rinnai combination inline boiler responsible for the entire homes space heating and domestic hot water. The model we have is a Rinnai Combi Boiler (E110CRP) that needs its 4 year 8000 hr. preventive maintenance to ensure it continues to run trouble free in the years to come. This was one of the sales pitch items that convinced us to enter into this 1 year maintenance and service contract with Enercare however they are incapable of performing the required preventative maintenance as explained below. To do this preventative maintenance, the technician must have the 4 year maintenance kit to replace the gaskets after the boiler is opened for inspection and cleaning (preventative maintenance) and includes a replacement electrode which needs to be replaced as well as part of this 4 year maintenance. The boiler cannot be opened up or inspected without these gaskets and would leave us without space heating and hot wate

    Furnace maintenance

My wife and I recently had the yearly maintenance chack performed on our furnace. The technician was very thorough while being professional, polite and congenial. Our furnace had a crack in the interior wall and he showed me the pictures of the crack that he had been taken. Although the carbon monoxide reawdings were very low, he recommended that we replace the furnace. For safety reasons, he shut off the gas supply to the furnace and gave us two space heaters to warm the house while arrangements were made to replace our furnace. After isolating the gas supply, he made a quick inspection of our hot water heater and recommended that it should be replaced too. His overall work was well above normal expectations.

    Horrible customer service

I cant really comment on their technicians as I have not used them as much. But I would like to do a special mention of their customer service representatives. Not sure where these people are hired from. Most of them do not know how to speak and have no courtesy. Even on calls they keep on heve you wait and still come back and ask the sma e questions and put you on hold again and this goes on. I had a horrible experience and have no issues in cancelling my plan with them.

Punctual, friendly, and he explained everything as he examined my furnace (newly installed last year, along with a heat pump). I find the maintenance agreement very satisfactory, especially

Bad Business Ethic and customer service

Rental water tank heater broke last 4 days ago which was succeeded from previous house owner. Enercare technician came the same day and certified it to be replaced and installation of another new one for the following day. Nothing happened the next day; there was no booking for new installation on the account after calling Enercare customer services. No one came either the following day after confirmed booking. Request for rental contract termination approved after being on hold for more than one hpour after talking to 5 different customer services representative. Contract termination approve on conditions that the broken tank has to be returned to Enercare repair centre by self dropoff or pickup by Enercare. The pickup can be arranged 11 days later for $75. Meanwhile, rental charge still continues to count before the broken tank returned to repair centre even the water tank was certified death by Enercare technician. Is this a normal business ethnics to charge a customer for something it is work working? Apart from that, Rental contract cancellation representative gave out a local destination for self dropoff of the broken water tank heater which had been moved 3 years ago to another nearby city. I am very sure this was done intentionally by the Enercare representative because the complaint about the two consecutive installation no shows, long pickup time for the non-servicalbe water tank with ongoing rental charge after rental contract cancellation was decided. Paying higher than market hot water tank rental monthly rate for 15 years contract Enercare charges need to be really reconsidered.

    Enercare rental

Buy your own water heater. Do not rent from Enercare and pay 50 bucks for month for 15 years. I had a rental water heater and it started leaking. They send few techs who could not find the leak. I had to hire my own hvac person who was able to find the leak and repair it. Enercare sucks. Do not use them
