    Garage door repair

    Late one afternoon I noticed that my garage door was not opening properly (via the door opener). Not having had any work done on the door in many years, I went to HomeStars to look for help. I went through the list and found Dodds (close to the top). It had a lot of reviews and a fairly high average score so I entered a request for help online. First thing the next morning I had a callback from CJ at Dodds. After I provided additional detail on the problem, CJ quickly realized the sensitivity of the opener needed adjustment. He asked me to email him a photo of the back panel of the opener, and then replied by email with instructions on how to fix it. His solution worked – perfectly. Not only did CJ/Dodds work on my behalf to resolve the problem without having to send someone out (and incur a charge), everything was done quickly and very professionally. If you need help with your garage door, do not hesitate to call Dodds. They’re the real thing!!

Regrettably there are scam artists in every trade.     Re-Alignment, Lubrication and general repair of Garage door and opener.

    I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for the exceptional service I received from Dodd's yesterday! It was great to be able to just send in an electronic request for service, receive a prompt call at work yesterday morning, and come home to a fixed garage door for a reasonable cost! It was like magic and I was impressed that Dodd's would give such prompt service - with no one home either! Thanks for making it so easy! Karyne Todd

    New Door and reconditioning existing opener

    Dodds installed my new garage door in January. They have also repaired my exisitng opener which is a very old one. They provide prompt and courteous service and are very understanding when there is a budget constraint! Thank you very much JP and Will for your help today. I recommend Dodds to anyone and will call Dodds when I get a new door opener.

    Noisy doors

    Newer home and builder installed doors, I installed openers. Doors would open and close fine but just really louid. Call Dodds to come out and assess what could be the problem. 1.5 hr flat rate at $78/hr was a bit much but when they came out they advised that the builder had painted the spring which was causing the excessive noise. Technician lubricated the spring and all the hinges and roller and even left a can of the lube. Overall I was satisfied.

    We appreciate your point about the price but would like to explain that we have a huge investment in buildings, inventory, trucks and personnel. We are no different to the military in so far we have two "backroom" people supporting every one technician in the field.We pay top wages and consequently have excellent personnel but this does entail a cost.

    Installation of a new Garage door

    I could not be more pleased with the look, feel and workings of the new door but was more impressed with the knowledge and ultimate service that we received throughout the whole installation process. no fuss, no mess and nothing but professionalism.

    Garage Door installation

    Excellent service! from the very competitive quote Michael provided ,to the installer who came in a time and his work was fast, clean and meticulous. I would recommend Dodds to anyone who wants an excellent product and friendly service

    Garage Door and Opener repair

    We recently had a problem with our garage door. One of the cables had rusted and snapped. My wife and I thought we might need a new door. I called Dodd’s Door. Not only did they arrive on time, the technician fixed our existing garage door and the door opener, which hadn’t worked in almost a year. All (garage door and opener) well below what I thought I’d have to pay for just the garage door. The honesty and great service was refreshing. Thanks for doing a great job.     Fast, excellent, friendly service! Cables broke & couldn't use the garage door so called Dodds and the problem was fixed same day and job was completed in an hour! Thanks JP.

    Garage Door Installation

    I contacted Dodd's Doors to do an installation on my detached garage door. Their salesperson was professional and courteous and came to my property quickly when asked. He measured my door, and although there was some plywood blocking his access to the ceiling, I removed a piece and he felt comfortable saying there was enough clearance. He asked me to remove all of the plywood from the walls and ceiling of the garage which I did over the course of an afternoon, then paid to have all of the waste removed. I also removed all of the existing rails of the old garage door anticipating that the install would be done. On the date the installation was to be done, we came home to find out nothing had happened. NO ONE called on that date or for several days after to explain why the work was not done. I had to make two calls before someone explained that they realized that their measurements were incorrect, and that they could not install the door. They were looking for a new door. A week and a half passed and I heard nothing. Finally, after contacting the manager, my sales rep called me to say nothing could be done and they will be refunding our deposit. While our sales rep was polite, no one ever apologized to us for demo-ing our garage and having to make several calls just to find out they could do nothing for us. The service as a whole left much to be desired, and while Dodd's will no doubt have a legitimate explanation for their mistake, they did not do nearly enough to be communicative with us or to apologize. The whole episode has cost us approximately $250 in expenses because of their mistake. Very unhappy.

    Unfortunately this client did not post their name so were unable to investigate what happened. The sales person should have never simply taken a chance that there was sufficient clearance above the door but should have requested the plywood be removed so that the clearance could be evaluated.We do 10,000 calls per annum and it will always be the one that is not checked that will trip us up. We apologise to this client that we dropped the ball and if they will send us proof of the out of pocket expenses that they incurred we will gladly send them a refund.

    Garage Door, Jackshaft opener and custom high contour track

    Great stuff JP!! Products were fabulous, had a couple of issues on the install. Called in to the office spoke with JP and everything taken care of to my satisfaction. Good follow up!
