Edit: Feb. 2013 The tension wire to the lock on the garage door has frayed (see photo) and about to snap locking the door permanently. I emailed Doods - this is obviously a manufacturing or installation defect. Instead of agreeing that it is a problem - (note this door is only opened about 2-3 times a week - not daily) that the main component of opening the door should not fail in just over two years of infrequent use. The person clarified that I have no warranty (expires after a year) on the parts that will obviously break. I reiterated that two years of infrequent use is not acceptable and asked should all customers expect to spent $150 (or more) fixing the tension wire every two years or less? The only solution offered was to pay full service rates and parts estimated at at least $150 plus tax. I feel strongly that this is a really poor solution for a $900 door. I would have been fine covering the costs of the repair technician and wire ($50), but to try and make money off a job poorly done. I need to replace my second garage door and was simply going to phone Dodds, now I will have to start my search again and ensure no friends of mine uses a company that thinks this kind of defect is solely on the customer. Original Review ---- Null I took months to finally get my new garage door - I got four quotes and took great care to choose the right company - and I am very happy. Dodds did a great job. Friendly and informative quote. Three weeks later I got a call to the set up my installation (as quoted). The next week my new door was installed. Efficient installer work steady, left a clean site. My new door is great - light, secure, great fit. Thanks.

We have had service a few times over the years from Dodds Garage Door Systems to do repairs to our old garage door equipment and to install a new opener. We were always very pleased with their work. Last week a leaning broom handle interacted with the track while the door was opening and the cheap double door -- not a Dodds product -- crumpled up like a pop can. I called Dodds on a Friday afternoon. Their representative came by for an appraisal on Saturday morning. By 9:30 am on the following Thursday we had a beautiful, insulated, smooth and silent running brand new garage door installed. It is such a great upgrade compared to what we had before that we are pleased that we had to have the work done. Once again the Dodds crew, Paul was the first of the team to arrive, did an excellent and professional job with a complete clean up before leaving. It was also a pleasure dealing with Angela in the office and Laurie the sales rep. Truly, nobody does it better than Dodds does.

I recently had to replace my Garage Door Opener. Dodds Doors did a superb Job... Technician arrived on time, worked indiligently and cleaned up afterwards. Would certainly recommend this company to friends and associates.

We checked many well known garage door companies before calling Dodds Doors and found their staff , prices and quality of doors to be the best.Alan visited us at our home and spent time explaining the procedure for garage door replacement to us. He was pleasant, efficient and honest and gave us a realistic installation date. The doors were installed on the date given, by a very capable installer and the place was left in perfect condition after he left. We would definitely recommends Dodds Doors.

I love the fact that this company allows custom colours for their garage doors. I had the door replaced in my parents home and was very happy with the results.

I bought a very old house which I am fixing up slowly. One of the first things I did was replace my old barn style doors with a shiny new garage door. I went with Dodds because they have a great reputation and their quote was very competative. The installer was polite and did an excellent job. Excellent Service, I highly recommend Dodds! I had a new garage door installed by Dodds Garage Doors and it was a pleasant experience from the initial sale to the installation. Both the salesman and the installer were very knowledgeable and professional, and they exceeded my expectations in every way! If you are on the market for a new garage door call Dodds you won't be disappointed! The installation also went smoothly, the technicians showed up on time and were very professional, they cleaned up after themselves and did a great job with the installation. One of the panels was obviously damaged in transit and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this was addressed. I think the measure of a company is how well they do what they are supposed to but even more so how they respond when problems occur. In my opinion "DODDS DOES DO IT BETTER" and I recommend them without reservation!! And in fact I did, my neighbour also had his garage door replaced by DOODS DOORS. Great company, refreshing to deal with.

A few days ago I had the unfortunate accident of having my garage door spring snap. I called Dodds Garage Door Systems Inc. and I was immediately greeted by a pleasant support person named Angie who provided all the information I needed and booked the required service call for later that afternoon. At home I was greeted by John, one of their servicemen, who approached me with a smile, quick assessment, pricing and professional service. John then went on to answer all my questions and more. After he completed the job I asked John to visit my neighbour who was also having garage problems, which he did without hesitation. All you hear these days is how "customer service is dead". Well it's alive and well at Dodds Garage Door Systems. Within 24 hours of my problem, I was totally satisified with the professional work received by all the staff involved at Dodds. I know that if I ever require a new garage door or service...Dodds will get the job. Thanks again!
