    Plumbing Blockage

Armando Gatti and Eric came to clear a blockage resulting from a toothbrush blocking a drain. Armando quickly identified the cause of the problem and after explaining it to me, he and Eric worked together efficiently and effectively to resolve the issue. I found Armando to be very professional in his technical knowledge but over and above that, he was also very personable. I will request Armando next time because he's simply a "good guy". I am thankful to have had the benefit of this team to help me promptly solve the issue which arose.

    Washroom

Drainworks replaced the water supply line from the city connection to our water meter. Later they needed to come and replace the sewer drain from just inside the house to the city line. At the same time they added a backwater valve to prevent the city sewer from backing up into our house. They acquired the necessary permits and made the arrangements for the City inpections. The Drinworks staff were professional in every way and provided great service at a fair price. We checked a few other contracors and all their prices were higher. They were great at explaining what he was going to do and why. They responded to our plugged drain within minutes. They started and finished the work when they said they would. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber.

Cristina L from Toronto----Breather Pipe replaced with Clean-outs

Wow! I experienced my first drain blockage...Not a pleasant site on all accounts. DrainWorks was the first company that called me back after I sent quite a few panicked emails on Saturday night. William called me back first thing Sunday, he sent someone out that morning!!! Matt A came to check things out, he took his time to explain what was happening, he explained it 2-3 times so that I could understand the process. He snaked my drain at no cost, gave me a very good quote and essentially kept his word on all accounts. They came today to do the work. I met Armando, again, very impressed with the staff. Took the time required to make sure things were done right. The men doing the dig were careful, considerate of my property...besides the 2 new clean-outs, you can't tell where they worked. Matt came back that night to do a thorough inspection, again taking time to make sure I knew what was going on. My experience was great. Thanks Everyone at DrainWorks....I hope that I don't need to call you again, but you can be sure that you will be the first call I make if I run into trouble in the future. Thanks again!!

    Clogged pipe, gurgling kitchen sink

I hired Drainworks after I began having issues with my basement toilet not flushing properly. The reason I chose Drainworks for the job was because of the very positive reviews I saw online, which put me under the impression that Drainworks was a respectable and exemplary company. At first I was quite impressed with the service I received. The workers wore booties in my house (instead of just wearing shoes) and they keep me apprised of the price and the work they were doing. The workers ran a camera snake through our pipes and told me that the cause of the problem was roots in the drain. They showed me a picture of the drain to confirm this. I was informed that the pipe needed to be replaced (they gave me a quote for this) and, in the meantime, they would clear the blockage in the pipe so that my plumbing would function properly until the paper was replaced. They also snaked a gurgling drain in my kitchen sink and charged me nearly $600 (not including tax) for the work that they did. After I signed the invoice, I noticed that one of the workers wrote in a line which stated that they made me aware that their work was not covered by warranty. I want to make it extremely clear that I was NOT made aware of this at any time and I only noticed it after the fact. I found it very unprofessional for him to write on an invoice that he gave me that information when in fact he did not. After Drainworks left, my basement flooded THE VERY NEXT DAY after a small rainfall. My basement has never flooded in the past. When I saw the water seeping through my basement I called Drainworks back right away and made them aware of the problem and booked an appointment for them to come back and deal with it. I spoke to someone (who I presume is the owner), he was extremely rude, and he told me outright that Drainworks was not in any way responsible for the flooding and if they were to come back, we would be charged full rate for them to fix the problem. So, in other words, they told me that the work was not covered by warranty, so it was not their problem, even though the problem occurred the very next day. I cancelled my appointment with Drainworks and called another plumbing company immediately. The other plumbers showed up, snaked the drain (the SAME DRAIN that Drainworks snaked) and pulled out a mass of roots and showed us what they did. Ever since then, there have been several rainfalls and the basement has not flooded since. The other plumbers also assured me that if I experienced problems in the near future, they would return and deal with them free of charge. I must say that I was very shocked by the way Drainworks acted. If work is not covered by warranty, I would understand that if the flood happened a month after they did the work (or even a week), I could not reasonably expect Drainworks to be responsible for them. However, after Drainworks showed up, we experienced problems within ONE SINGLE DAY and in response, Drainworks refused to take any ownership or accountability over their work. Like I said, I found this to be surprising for a company with such a good reputation. Be aware, if you hire Drainworks to do any snaking work for you, you should know that they offer zero warranties (whether they make you aware of this not) and, as such, if you experience any problems with their work whatsoever, they will not be of any assistance and will insist on charging you for the same work twice.

Christine, we couldn’t possibly begin to address the myriad of mistruths in your review. These fabrications are in complete contradiction to our recordings, as well as the signed/authorized agreement for the work in question. We firmly believe in honesty and complete transparency in all facets of what we do; unfortunately, HomeStars has not yet implemented a system whereby an invoice for the job can be posted (blurring/blocking out all private/sensitive information, of course as privacy is of the utmost importance), putting all of these wild accusations and claims to rest. We stand by the work we do, day in, and day out. People need look no further than the multitude of positive reviews we have, addressing issues identical to yours over the years. Best of luck, going forward, with your drain problems.

    Drain Srvices

DrainWorks was the second company I called for an estimate when my basement drain backed up. The first company quoted a very high price with a lot of work required and failed to even show me why it was required nor the results of the camera inspection. When I contacted DrainWorks, I was told someone would arrive within 2 hours. Their technician, Matt arrived in 1 1/2 hours. He set up the camera inspection and walked me through the length of the drain, showing me the clogged areas and making a recommendation as to what work was necessary. He wrote out a quote for me and detailed everything they would do. The work was supposed to be done the next week however there was a cancellation and work began and was completed that Friday to my complete satisfaction. On Monday, I met with Frank who completed the final inspection, asked if I had any other questions or concerns and advised that I contact the city to complete the work required on city property. This was completed within 2 days. I have nothing but compliments to give to DrainWorks for the professionalism that was displayed throughout the process, from the technicians to the office staff! If anyone speaks about plumbing problems, DrainWorks will quickly roll off my tongue as the best service I have received, ever! Thank you so much! Great job!!!!

Good work from good companies stands out by it self. We had an opportunities to use Drain Works plumbing service. They fixed our leaking toilet. The plumber was very professional and knowledgeable. While working he kept work area clean and when he left he cleaned all work area. He did not try to charge us extra or try to sell other products and services. We will Definitely use them again. Great service

    Leaking Incoming Waterline

Water began bubbling up through our landscaping between the house and the Kitchener city water supply. We had received accolades for landscaping because of the trees, bushes and rocks in place. We had to get it fixed within 30 days or be cut from the city supply. Since it was on our side of the valve we were responsible for the repair. Three quotes showed others ready to excavate and tear out the driveway, the floor of our garage and all our landscaping nurtured over the last 10 years. Listening to Frank describe precisely how DrainWorks would go about doing it by hand to protect the landscaping, garage, and driveway was a total relief and we chose him and DrainWorks. In one day they opened 3 holes, used a torpedo, and left everything 'as is' on the surface untouched. By putting down drop cloths, and restoring the area to its natural sate by dedicated workers - and delivering on everything that they promised... we would highly recommend them to anyone! We shudder to think what could have happened if we were at the hands of the other contractors that quoted. DrainWorks, on behalf of our family, we sincerely thank you and were impressed from the ads online; with Frank's details ahead of time as to exactly what was to be done; to the people you employ; and the cleanliness and order of your process... and, most of all - for your work you and thorough followup. Thank you!

    Drains & Plumbing

We have a large city-owned maple on our front lawn, and have had problems with our drains for years. Finally decided they had to be replaced and called Drainworks. Their work was extremely professional, very thorough, neat and fast. They gave us a very detailed estimate and completed the job in only 2 days - including digging up our basement drains, installing a backflow valve, and digging up part of our driveway to replace the drains outside. They hung up plastic in the basement to contain the dust, and when done, everything was cleaned up as well as possible. Their price was competitive, they came right on time, they inspected the work when completed. I would recommend them very highly.

    Drain

Basement floor drain was providing sewer gases when water in the house was being used. You could hear the flow of water through the pipes. Lou from DrainWorks came over and used the camera inspection to assess the problem. He was honestly, the most helpful contracted specialist I have had assess/repair a situation in my 130 old home. Explained everything clearly, took the time to draw diagrams and speak honestly with me about my options. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Removed Inside Trap from main line

In January I had a backup from my basement drain. I had drainworks come and have a look. The tech was super professional and explained that from what he could see there was a problem with the inside trap. He managed to clear the backup but told me that I may have problems with it in the future, so he also provided me a quote to have it removed. Well about one week later backup was back. I had in the meantime gotten a 4" plunger which I was able to clear the blockage or so I thought. The clog kept coming back and I was able to kinda keep plunging it. After about a week of this, I decided enough was enough and called drainworks back to come dig out my basement. The people at drainworks were great and able to schedule a date that worked for me. They were prompt and arrived when they promised. The job entailed removing tiles, digging out the trap, replacing the pipe and installing clean outs. The job took most of the day, but they were great in walking me through the steps they were taking. Turns out the trap had collapsed and needed to be removed. By the end of the job I was expecting to be cleaning up mud from the tile, but when they said they were finished I was shocked...they had cleaned up and it may have been cleaner than when they arrived! Haven't had a single problem since. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. The quote they provided me initially was exactly the price I paid, no hidden costs. Thank you drainworks. ed
