Experience ranged from being screamed at and told I was stupid, to people telling me things that simply were not true to people refusing to take my calls. Don't use them. They are really nice upfront but once they have your money, all customer service is gone. Don't put your belongings into storage because when you do you pay in advance to move them out - having paid upfront, they will refuse to accommodate you at every turn because they are making new money from other customers and your money came in the door months prior. They are the worst movers I have ever used and I have moved 5 times over the past 4 years. Stay away from this company!

We moved from northern alberta to southern alberta. They came in and packed everything for us, tagged it all and wrapped it in paper. Very fast. Took less then a day to pack up and load everything... even a piano. When we came to our new home the truck was parked there and waiting. Guys were very friendly and unpacked everything for us. Even great with my kids and dog. :)

My first impression with the moving personal was excellent and very pleasant. The guys were very experienced and perfectly did their job. My problem is with GCVL management and logistics planning. 10 days after the shipment was collected, I received a call in the evening telling me that they will deliver next day early morning. I was told originally that I will be given a notice a couple of days in advance but that didn't happen. As I couldn't receive the shipment, they unloaded it into a local storage and till date, they didn't deliver (2o days). It seems they subcontracted the delivery to a third party and no one knows when and in what conditions it will be delivered. Planning and communicating with your customer is an essential part of any service based business and GCVL failed to provide the service they promised and for that reason, I rated their business low. My advise to future customers, find a cost effective moving company and spend your savings on properly wrapping your stuff. Paying a premium for a better rate company may not guarantee a better service or a pleasant experience.

I moved from Edmonton to Brantford and I was very pleased with the communication with the driver . Prompt with phone calls, and advised me of time for delivery. Packing of my items were fine.I would recommend this company to my family and friends

I moved from McBride, B.C. to Ottawa. This was my first experience moving across country with a moving company. The whole undertaking was done smoothly right from Peter Campbell of Hart U Store in Prince George who made the initial arrangements, to Dan Brown with the Great Canadian Van Lines. A very special thanks to Dan who made the experience virtually painless! He was fantastic!

I moved from Vancouver to Calgary and Great Canadian made it easy for.The movers were promt at pick up and destination, very friendly and worked very well with the building manager,I would highly recommend this company.

I was extremely pleased - great, professional and friendly staff...nothing was broken / shoes were covered and lots of care was taken with our items. I have moved with this company in the past and would not hestiate to move with this company again. I would absolutely recommend this company to my friends and family!
