    Spray foam insulation

The guys were on time and professional. They were able to answer all my questions from the time of the quote to the day of installation and even a few emails in between. The house is much warmer now and we are very satisfied.

    insulating truckwash

After having the drawings for a truck-wash submitted for permit approval I had a visit from Herman and after talking to him for half an hour I knew I had to submit new drawings. He recommended fibreglass panels on the outside of the foundation to prevent heat-loss from the floor though wall. He showed me how to install them with the use of a product called air-block. This is a real cost saving compared to an sandwich-wall construction. Herman's second recommendation was the use of pvc siding on the walls and spray-foam this from the outside in. This stiffens up the pvc and leaves the cavity in the wall on the cold side which makes it less attractive to rodents. I'm really impressed by the smart choice and applications of the products. The work was done in a timely manner and I'm amazed how even the spray-foam is applied. Any visitor is surprised with the strength the spray-foam gives to the pvc siding.

    Answer from pro:

Hello Eric! I was so thrilled when I saw your review here of our Insta-Panels product for your truck wash project! Thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed account of your experience with Herman and with your application of spray foam and Insta-Panels. What I love best is that you are one of the first customers to talk about Insta-Panels. This product is a bit of a ‘best kept secret’ for us. As you've discovered, these rigid foam panels stop heat from radiating into the ground, and combined with the spray foam and pvc on your walls, you've got a heat-lock going on in that truck wash! Eric, I hope others will see your story and learn a little bit about the benefits of panel insulation. It is music to my ears to hear that you are impressed with the results of the insulation system that Herman recommended for your application. Mission accomplished! :) On behalf of Herman and the whole gang here at Insta, thank you so much for your business and for taking the time to carefully craft such a wonderful review. Many, many thanks! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care

    Basement renovation

I have used Insta-insulation before to insulate walls and ceiling in an unheated garage with a bedroom over it and was totally pleased with the result. When it was time to completely re-do my basement, I once again researched the cost of alternatives. The quote from Insta-Insulation was slightly more than doing it myself with batt insulation and insul-board and of course having to put on and tape a vapour barrier. The choice was easy, spray foam. The crew arrived at the appointed time and took great care in not making a mess inside the house during the job. They were very professional and completed the work in about 2 1/2 hours. Insulated, vapour barrier done and air tight. I didn't have to life a finger. Any future work I decide to do around the house that requires insulation, these are the guys I will look at first. Everyone from the sales staff to the installers were excellent and courteous. Their focus was on doing the job right.

    Answer from pro:

Hello Derek! First, I want to give you a BIG shout out from our whole team to say THANK YOU for your repeat business! Our greatest reward is when your satisfaction with our past work prompts you to call us back when you need a hand with another project - we strive to be that trusted reno partner that is 'just a phone call away' for all of our customers! Derek, it was so great to hear how you did your own investigation to understand what was involved in performing your basement spray foam work on your own before making the decision to call for some help. I love it when people take the time to do this because that's where our team can really demonstrate the value of our service. As you have demonstrated so well with your comparison, what we really sell is 'peace of mind' - peace of mind that we come to the job with the right tools, the right products, and the experience and expertise to get to work and get the job done right, the first time, in no time! Sometimes the difference in the numbers on that piece of paper between doing it yourself and hiring the right help can easily get people thinking that it makes sense to roll up your sleeves and save a few $$$. When the decision is made to outsource your project, it becomes clear in a hurry that there is actually huge SAVINGS - in Time, Preparation, Frustration, Uncertainty, and the Risk of not achieving the desired outcome and that dreaded word - REWORK! Derek, we love it when the only finger that our customers have to lift is the one to dial our number for some help with their insulation project! Thank you not only for making a great choice to hire an experienced contractor to ensure your basement spray foam project was successful - THANK YOU for putting your trust in our team at Insta-Insulation! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care

Spray Foam and sealer - Basement

We recently met with your salesman, Brandon Looby, to provide us with an estimate to apply spray foam in our basement. Now that the work is complete, I am writing to say it was a pleasure dealing with your people. To date we have not had the furnace on. The inside of the house stays warm when the temperature goes down at night. We have had the fireplace on only once for a day, then the temperature held for close to two days without another fire being needed. Will probably be three days as it was warm enough in the house this morning not to require a fire being lit. We think this will be a warm and toasty winter, with a lot less use of propane. The night temperature here has been anywhere from 37 degrees to 47 degrees - so it is great not to freeze at night without the furnace. Again thank you and your guys for a terrific job. Francine and Bernie

    Answer from pro:

Hello Francine and Bernie! Let me start by saying the pleasure is all ours! Thank you so much for taking the time to write and share the fantastic benefits you're already experiencing from your investment in spray foam. Did we forget to mention that spray foam is pretty much like a little zip-loc bag for your house, sealing in the heat, while locking out moisture and allergens? Of course, the fringe benefits are a longer lasting woodpile and a furnace that only has to report for duty part-time (not to mention the extra money in your pocket)! On behalf of Team Insta, here's wishing you a warm and cozy "Smart Comfort" winter! Thank you for sharing your story. Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care

    Basement Insulation

We just had Insta-Insulation complete a spray foam installation in our basement. The job was completed in approx 1/2 day. The installers (Josh & Jerry) were very professional, listened to our concerns and did a fantastic job with the installation. I feel we received very good value for the money and I would absolutely recommend this company. This is our second time working with Insta and there will definitely be a third! Crystal in the office was terrific to work with. She dealt with our concerns quickly and accurately. Truly a pleasure to deal with these folks. After the installation, we received a follow up call to make sure we were happy. Outstanding...they really do care about customer satisfaction. I wrote a note to Alex (the owner of Insta) telling him how happy I was with his team and his services...he wrote me back within 30 minutes to thank me for our business. These guys just get it. Outstanding from top to bottom. Looking forward to our next project together. I wouldn't normally give a 10 out of 10, however, this team deserves the 10/10 and they have worked very hard to earn it. Great job.

    Answer from pro:

Hello Craig! Did you know that depending on the level of intensity, we use somewhere between 12 and 26 muscles to smile? Well, after reading your extraordinary review, I can guarantee you that Josh, Jerry, Alex, and me are all sporting at least a 26er and have probably recruited some extra muscles that the smile scientists didn't even know existed! Woo hoo! It doesn't happen often, but I'm almost quite speechless! On behalf of the entire team, we are so grateful for your generous recognition. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it really is the opportunity to work with great customers like you and your wife that really allow us to shine. It is when both the customer and the company collaborate to envision and execute a project plan that enables this level of success for all. We humbly, and sincerely thank you for your business, your trust, and the extra mile you've gone to share your appreciation. The pleasure is all ours and we couldn't be more thrilled that we were able to leave this impression. We look forward to delivering the same experience for your next project when the time is right! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care... PS - from here on in whenever my day starts to get a little rocky, I'll be coming back here to read this! :)

We had already had insta insulation in mind for spray foaming our whole home renovation, Since we have heard great things about them already. (Basically rebuilt our intire old house, new again). THE TWO GUYS SHOWED UP, got the job done all in one day. They did a Fantastic job. They were Polite, and worked hard in some tricky areas. They were fast and tidy, and seemed happy doing their job. Thank you for making our old house Warm and Comfortable. We are excited for winter this year! In our cozy new house! From the McFarlane Family.

    Answer from pro:

Hello MacFarlane Family! Your newly renovated "old house" sounds wonderful and for some reason I can't escape the image of a roaring fire and the smell of fresh baked cookies - or is it pie?! The way you've made everything about your new space sound so inviting makes me want to pick up some hot cocoa and come for a visit! :) MacFarlane's, I can't thank you enough for your kind review of our service and the genuine happiness you've expressed with our install team. No matter if the project is big or small, our guys can tackle them all - and always with great pride in their work. I'm so glad you had an opportunity to experience that first hand. Perhaps you've heard that "you've got friends in tight spaces". :) I am confident that when the wind starts whistling and the white stuff flies, that you will all be as snug as a bug in a rug, enjoying the many benefits of your newly insulated home. Thank you so much for trusting us with such important work to take care of your biggest investments - your family and your home! Thank you for sharing your story! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care

    Insulation

In August, Insta-Insulation gave us a quote for some smaller jobs ($700 + tax) and a large attic job ($4000+). We decided to tackle the smaller jobs first and were informed that Insta-Insulation charges a minimum of $700.00 per job. Since our job was below that minimum we asked if we would be able to add additional spots to the overall job. We were told that this would be possible and so we moved forward. Before the company came to install we had asked for a price breakdown as they had not sent us one and we had one other small spot in our home we wanted to insulate. We were told that our job added up to $700.00 and it wouldn't be possible to add on this other job. Andrew Houben sent us a breakdown after the job was finished and after we had sent two emails and called the company. I was really surprised by this as it was very unprofessional. Once we received the breakdown, it was apparent that cost of our job was less than $700.00 and we would have had room within the budget to finish off the other section of the home. We sent an email to Andrew, but received no response. After sending the email again a week later Andrew responded by offering us a $50.00 gift certificate to the company. We responded by stating that the gift certificate wouldn't be of use to us as we didn't plan on completing our attic job with this company. Instead, we wanted a $50.00 refund. This email was sent to Andrew on September 11, 2014 and we still haven't received a response from him. Based on our experience with Andrew Houben we would not use this company again. He has not been helpful. As far as the installation team goes, they were great! The guys were very professional and hardworking. It really is too bad that we have had a negative experience with customer service.

    Answer from pro:

I am always deeply sorry to learn that we have disappointed a customer and I will start by saying thank you for your candid feedback. I also apologize for my delay in replying to your post here on Homestars. I felt it was important to speak with Andrew Houben to understand his perspective on your project and collect my thoughts before posting a reply. Johnstons, I understand we have left you feeling as if we did not provide you with the full value for your money on the insulation install work we recently performed, and that Andrew’s lack of response to your last note on September 11 left you feeling as if we do not care about your business. I can assure you with 100% certainty that this is not a fact, and will attempt to demonstrate that the exact opposite is true. Stay with me here for a moment… My understanding is that Andrew Houben visited your home not once, but several times to assess your project and work with you to stay within your preliminary budget. I also understand that he introduced you to the opportunity to take advantage of the current Union Gas rebate program in an effort to save you as much money as possible on the overall insulation work you were considering. We do in fact have a minimum charge of $700 for our services, but it is not our typical practice to break that down by line item for each customer. Andrew wanted to comply with your request because it was important to him to show you exactly what you were getting for your money and that there was nothing to hide. When Andrew learned of your unhappiness with the breakdown, he still wanted to make an effort to reassure you that he had delivered as promised by offering you a $50 gift card. There seems to be some confusion here as Insta-Insulation does not have gift cards for our services – what Andrew was in fact offering was a $50 gift card to a retail store of your choice. Johnstons, I hope you might take a moment to step back from the heat of the moments where we did in fact mess up i.e. 1) providing you with a confusing breakdown of the project after the fact, and 2) not responding to your last email message on September 11, and take another look at the whole picture where Andrew did make every effort to work with you to build an insulation plan that would solve your issues, save you money, and fit your budget. We do appreciate your kind words about your satisfaction with our workmanship and install team. It is bittersweet to hear that even though you have achieved a successful outcome, that it is overshadowed by a feeling of disappointment from what sounds like a simple lack of communication. On behalf of Andrew and the rest of the team, we are sorry for our part in that and will use this as a lesson to do a better job of setting expectations in the future. I will do my best to leave this on a positive note by extending our sincere thanks for your business. Appreciatively, Crystal – Customer Care

Ceiling Insulation to 3rd Floor Addition

I added a third floor to my home with a flat roof and opted for 2 lb closed cell spray foam for the ceiling so I did not have to provide vents or an air space. The guys came in, laid plastic over the entire subfloor and windows to protect from any overspray which there was minimal. Fortunately no walls were built so they progressed pretty rapidly. They paid attention to detail and addressed all my questions. Very proffessional! I would definitely recommend Insta-Insulation to anyone!

    Answer from pro:

Hello Vince! Congratulations on making a great decision in choosing 2lb spray foam for sealing your ceiling! Spray foam is THE BEST insulation material to control both air leakage and moisture which has the added bonus of preventing mold growth! Did you know that WALLTITE ECO spray foam actually exceeds the requirements of the National Building Code of Canada? In addition to creating a tighter building envelope, you've also increased the structural strength of your home and added protection against premature building deterioration. My guess is this isn't news to you and that's why you selected Insta-Insulation's Foammaster certified install team to ensure the success of insulating your 3rd floor addition right the first time! Now that's Smart Comfort! Vince, thank you for investing your time in sharing your Insta-Insulation experience with others, and your money in choosing our team to perform this critical work for you. We sincerely appreciate your trust and your business! Here's wishing you many years of comfort in your newly renovated space! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care

    Answer from pro:

Hello Junior! On behalf of the whole team at Insta-Insulation, we THANK YOU for shopping local and for choosing our team to complete the spray foam project for your bay window. Did you know that locally owned and operated businesses create more jobs locally and often provide better wages and benefits than corporate chains, AND, that locally owned and operated businesses recycle a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community. Insta-Insulation remains very proud to support many activities in Brantford and surrounding areas and we thank you, Junior, for supporting us right back! We look forward to the privilege of working with you on your next project when the time is right! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care

    Insulated office ceiling

I had a friend recommend using Insta-insulation for my next job. i called for a quote on insulating my office ceiling, they wasted no time coming out to give me a price. it was a pleasant surprise to have quick service and a reasonable price. The salesman and workers explained everything well and delivered on what they promised, thanks again for a job well done! Doug

    Answer from pro:

Hello Doug! I like your friend already! :) We like to think "pleasant surprises" are our specialty! Actually - "no surprises" is really what we aim for. Our job is to make sure you have all of the information you need to make the best decision for your project. We love to hear that we're fast and fair, but more importantly we want to be know as the insulation people who take care - to explain everything well and to deliver as promised. Doug, thank you for choosing Insta-Insulation to make your office a more comfortable place to work. Insulation is one resource that's always on duty and will eventually pay you! Sincerely, Crystal - Customer Care
