    Bathroom vanity

We ordered a bathroom vanity and countertop from K Wood for my parents' home. The entire process was smooth and issue-free. I have to give a special thank you to Simon W. for overseeing the job for us from beginning to end. He was truly a pleasure to deal with. The vanity looks great and the installation team was awesome. My Dad made a request for a small modification to the cabinet and the installers were quick to oblige. Nothing but good things to say about the experience.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the kind words and the trust you have in us. It means a lot to us small local business. We look forward to serving you again for the cabinetry and/or renovation needs. Thank you again !!!

    Thornhill Kitchen Reno

We renovated our kitchen in October, 2021. We chose KWood, with Ryan as lead, on the recommendation of friends who had an excellent experience. My delay in writing this review means I can include our lived experience in the new space. Spoiler alert: since our job, KWood has worked for other friends based on OUR excellent experience. We spent a long time planning the job, including interviewing four or five other contractors. We talked to one company that specializes in IKEA installs and one that has a computerized design system based on pre-built modules. Both were impressive, and both would have been cheaper. Both required compromises we didnt want to make. The other contractors or their design partners did rough drawings that ignored some our requests. Red flag. Our initial meeting with Ryan might have won him the job even if he hadnt come highly recommended. He came to listen. His comments all seemed right. He wasnt pushing us where he wanted to go. There was a great comfort level established immediately. Note, a few years back we installed new windows. We chose a window company largely on the basis of an outstanding sales guy. Once wed signed, we never saw him again, and the install was sub-par. Ryan was our KWood guy beginning to end. I cannot overstate the significance. Ive shared our experience many times, and this is the key take-away. There are two things you want in a reno: a great finished product and a great contractor relationship. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF THE RELATIONSHIP! In many ways, the finished product depends on it. So does your mental health, your final satisfaction with the process and probably the actual price you pay. More on that below. Ryan was a pleasure to deal with. From the time we selected him until construction began, we initiated many interactions. Lots of emails and phone calls, but especially, multiple visits to his showroom. Each visit, he gave us all the time we needed. And we needed a lot to get our heads wrapped around it. Sometimes we brought our designer. Several times, Ryan came to the house to remeasure, when we considered substantial adjustments, like reconfiguring the kitchen or moving a wall. He gave us multiple sets of renders. To my mind, he gave us an extravagant amount of time, none of which ever showed up on a bill. Ryan never pushed for his preferred way of doing things. He gave us ideas, information and reflections on our ideas. He made suggestions. He didnt pretend to be a designer, although a lot of his advice touched on design. We asked a lot of questions about other peoples choices. We worked with a designer who happened to have worked with Ryan previously, which was helpful but not critical. For us, having someone who understands design to hand-hold us through the many decisions was valuable. With a designer, its especially important to choose someone youre comfortable with. Back to Ryan, there were some decisions where we just took his advice, sometimes with our fingers crossed and sometimes with a bit of scepticism. Without a single exception, he got it right. Two examples were the exact placement of the backsplash tiles and the edging for it. On the day they cut the holes for the lighting, I realized I hadnt researched that topic. (I was a maniac about research.) The placement looked seriously wrong to me. Ryan explained his reasoning. He had gone away from a simple grid to account for the arrangement of the pantry and fridge, which werent installed yet. I could not envision it. He offered to change it. I decided to trust him, but I was really concerned. Then the cabinets and fridge went in, and the lights are spot-on. He nailed it. KWood uses its own employees for the work, not subcontractors. In our entire job, everything, and I mean everything, proceeded as promised. They never missed a day. They were never an hour late (or a minute, as far as I can recall) or left early. They never had to pause and wait for a plumber or electrician or tile guy or painter. They were fastidiously neat. The house never filled up with dust. They did not leave behind a single nick or chip. There was the single, anticipated pause after the cabinets were installed and measured, for the countertops to be cut. In our case, this was quicker than expected, and the whole job ended a week ahead of time. Ryan was on-site regularly throughout and always available by phone and email. I cant suggest how the company will deal with issues in every case, but we had some small but very positive situations. Although KWood has a large selection of elements like tiles and pulls, we were always free to find our own. We found the backsplash tiles we liked and they were already in our garage when we decided they were too dark. We had opened one box. Ryan took it on himself to pick up and return those tiles, including the open box, and to arrange for our new choice. We were not charged for this. It made a huge difference, and it was very gracious of him to handle it as he did. At one point, I realized Id made the wrong choice about a drawers orientation. Ryan quoted $200 to reverse it, which I thought was more than fair. Subsequently, he said it had been easier than expected, so he waived the charge. Finally, right after we finished, there was a water problem. Ryan came right out, late Saturday night, and turned off the water at the link. The problem was with our own garbage disposal, which wed reinstalled, not with their work. Nonetheless, his plumber came the next morning (Sunday) and fixed it. I guess I should mention the finished product. We love it. Everything about it is just great. It looks beautiful. It feels beautiful. The finishing is immaculate: paint, trim, balance. Every drawer and door is smooth. The tiles are dead-on. The lighting is excellent. The pictures dont nearly do it justice. After eight months, I still cant enter the room without smiling. It makes me feel rich. Good luck with your reno!

    Bathrooms renovation

K-Wood Kitchen came highly recommended and so we headed into another renovation. This time was three major complete bathroom renovation. Two previous renos with other companies - kitchen, and master ensuite + power room - were disappointed with many issues which took much longer time than expected. K-Wood with Clement as our designer, who was always available any time of day or night, surpassed our expectation. Services were at professional level and impeccable from start to finish. I was most impressed with the process of how the renovation went as well as their skills and expertise in their work. First time my house was almost dust free during renovations. The crew cleaned up every night and even cleaned out leaves that were blown into my garage. This project not only involved the actual members working at the job site but also K-Wood Kitchen as a whole team. The boss, site team leader and Clement were always coming to make sure everything was going well and on schedule. Beside doing the renovation per contract, they were able to help me fixed up other minor repairs we have around the house at no extra cost. They also did couple of small projects which I may not be able to get any contractor to do, at a very reasonable price. I will not hesitate to call K-Wood Kitchen again if I have other renovations to do.

    Remodelling of main floor bungalow

K Wood Kitchens and Endrina, were recommended by our son and daughter in law. The company name is a misnomer, as they do a lot more than kitchens. We had a new kitchen, bathroom, all windows, doors and skylights replaced. A wall was removed to open up the living area and all floors were replaced, plus lots more. Endrina was great at picking tiles and making design suggestions. We moved out in April and were back in mid July, exactly as estimated; even though in the midst of Covid. Endrina was always available, quick to respond to any questions and constantly cheerful. The crew who worked on our house were very hard working, and always cleaned up. Nothing was too much trouble if we changed our minds. Our daughter has since used K Wood to put a bathroom in her basement, a neighbour has had a kitchen installed and a friend is using them this Summer. We plan to remodel our basement and would not hesitate to contact K Wood again. We would not need to look elsewhere.

    Kitchen Reno

Our experience was great with KWood kitchens. From the first phone call, Simon was amazing. He was informative and helpful through the whole process, from design, selection and renovation. Our decision was interrupted because of COVID. But once we decided, it was smooth sailing. They were on schedule and in fact finished sooner than scheduled. The work was done very well and we were very happy. We highly recommend them if you are looking for an honest and professional kitchen Reno company.

    Kitchen and bathrooms

K-Wood came recommended by various neighbours and recently completed our kitchen and powder room reno, a new basement washroom build and a main bath facelift. It was a big undertaking for us and Endrina worked with our budget and provided great suggestions to accommodate our space. The company owner also came by our house on multiple occasions (with coffee and donuts in hand, no less!) to check on progress and ensure the projects were being completed to their expectations. The whole team has high standards and we would definitely recommend them.

Ensuite Bathroom & Laundry Room Renovation

We were very happy with our renovation by K◦Wood Kitchens . The scope of the project was complete gutting and reworking of a large four piece Ensuite bathroom, a laundry room and some other small drywall repairs and installation of bedroom ceiling lights. The work was completed even a few days ahead of schedule and with no extra charges, and when all the work was done we were very happy with the quality. Two men started the demolition phase and the crew size grew to 3 men after the 1st week and stayed at 3 men until completion. There was no pulling men off our job to work on other projects. Our contact Simon Chan is a pleasure to work with. He is friendly, cooperative and was highly motivated to ensure that we were happy with the project in every way. Simon earned our trust with great design ideas, and with his years of practical experience. The K◦Wood workers were friendly and knowledgeable, showing respect for our property by erecting first class dust barriers and laying down plenty of large dropsheets to protect our floors. They left the job site tidy at the end of every day. We did have to clean some minor paint spots from our DriveWay but other than that they were careful and spent time at the end of every day sweeping, vacuuming, and hosing down as needed. K◦Wood went above and beyond to address any concerns we had during the renovation for minor bumps and scratches. They promptly made corrections and / or provided replacements with no hesitation and at no extra charge. K◦Wood even did extra work for us, addressing a problem beyond the scope of the Renovation by providing parts and labour all at no charge to solve a problem for us while they were on-site that would have been costly for us to rectify with an outside contractor. As we watched the plumbing, tiling, drywalling and installation of fixtures we were impressed with their penchant for doing the job correctly, no cutting of corners. They even relocated our existing 240 Volts dryer outlet and washing machine ShutOff valves in the laundry room on their own initiative so that I didn’t have to run extension hoses and so that we could easily pull the machines out for servicing. Based on our experience, we would strongly recommend K◦Wood Kitchens for mid size renovations.

Entire First Floor - Kitchen, Living, Dining and Hallway (w. permit)

We recommend K Wood Kitchens to anyone who will listen. Our entire reno was custom (kitchen, island, cabinetry in dining room and cabinet/shelving in living room) and it looks luxurious. Our Sales and Construction Consultant "Joe N." was there for every step of the way, from planning to securing a building permit through to completion, he kept me up to date and was very helpful all along the way. As home owners, you don't know the in's and out of a reno, stylish cues or where to go and buy modern finishings, appliances, etc. but Joe helped us out A LOT. I'm happy to have a East York home that my family and friends are envy of :-) K Wood's quality of work is pretty high, they pay attention to detail, especially during the planning stage. I really liked how they didn't penny pinch us, if something needed to be done extra (mostly my part with plumbing and electrical changes and upgrades) they just did it at no extra costs. The service you get afterwards once the reno is done is also really good. If there's anything that needs touch up or something that's extra you thought of after the fact, they will come by to help fairly quickly. Choose K Wood Kitchens and you will be a happy customer, guaranteed.

    Condo Kitchen and Bathroom renovation

I chose K-Wood to renovate the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops in my condo based on my parents' recommendation. The process of getting an initial estimate and selecting design options in the showroom was easy. Joe was helpful and responsive at every step. There were some challenges from working in a condo like the elevator and parking, but Joe and his team handled it very well. I was very satisfied with the quality of the final product. The cabinets and countertops were as I pictured them, and they were also able to install a new range hood microwave, new sinks/faucets, and a new door for the laundry room. I would highly recommend K-Wood to anyone who wants this type of work done.
