Review from HomeOwner Review left on 5 Apr 2014Rating: 5 out of 5This is the second time I have used Milani and they were just as good as the first time. Professional when answering the phone and scheduling the work. Plumber arrived as scheduled and performed the work in a professional manner and also explained what was required. No complaints at all and would definitely use them again.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 5 Apr 2014Rating: 5 out of 5emergency plumbing repair
We had a pipe burst in our home one morning. We called Milani and they came within the hour. Their plumber was able to find the problem quickly and help us minimize the damage. Some further work on our main shut-off valve was recommended; with that recommendation came some tips on how to keep the bill under control. This was a stressful situation, and Milani handled it very well. I would call them again, and recommend them to anyone.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 3 Apr 2014Rating: 1 out of 5faucet installation
Used Milani to install a new kitchen faucet. Thought they did a good job until I tried to use the hot water to wash dishes, and realized there was very little water pressure. Said they would come back but could possibly charge me for a second visit (another $190) if it had nothing to do with the installation, or if the faucet was to blame since I supplied it myself. Even if it does have something to do with the faucet or the building (unlikely since the pressure is fine for all my other taps), this is something that should have been checked in the first service before the technician left, and they should be sending someone to diagnose the problem regardless of the reason, with no charge. That would be the kind of service that would prompt me to use them in the future, but now I will search for another company that really stands by their work, and gives true customer service.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 27 Feb 2014Rating: 3 out of 5Clear blockage in sewer line
Overall I was pleased with the service - the only issue was having to wait for the technician. Apparently there was a separate emergency at the scheduled time and so I wasted a day waiting for nothing. The next day, Weston arrived first thing, removed the toilet, augered the sewer line, inspected with a camera and cleared the tree roots that were causing the blockage. He didn't use punctuation in the write-up (which confused me a bit) but other than that he did a good job!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 25 Feb 2014Rating: 5 out of 5Repair Furnace & Replace Hot Water Tank
My furnace stopped working on a cold night and I called Milani early the next morning and they had a technician here by 10:30am. The parts were replaced/repaired and got my furnace working as well as replaced a hot water tank that was about to let go. All this work was completed the same day. After the technician left, there was a vibration problem in the furnace and a technician came out right away the next day to correct the problem. They were very professional, on time and quick to respond.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

My mother in law called me in regards to a bathtub clog. I have called several plumber and like everyone else none could give me a fix price. I have decided to contact Milani as their name has been good. When I called a girl picked up the phone and she would try to answer my questions best of her knowledge. The only problem was that this reception is not a plumber. I was trying to get an approximate quote and she would not give me an answer which i just went in circles. She said she will get a technician to call me back. The technician did call about 30 mins later. We made an appointment to go ahead. The guy showed up on time. did the job quickly. It was unclogged no problem. The bill came up to $225. Not impressed because from the time that he took it was not really worth that price. Plus I was charged for his commute time as well. It is liable but I am sure if my mother in law has more patient, I would be able to find it cheaper.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

The plumber was really easy to deal with, worked really fast, and fixed a bunch of things as part of the installation. The cost was reasonable and I felt very confident that the service and the work was professional. I will use these guys again.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 17 Jan 2014Rating: 0 out of 5Avoid - Hot water tank replacement
Do not trust Milani. Document their work, take pictures prior to them coming, at every step and stay nearby the whole time. I called Milani to do standard maintenance, i.e. replace a 15 years old standard hot water tank that did not show any outward sign of problem (no rust, no leak). This hot water tank was the original one, which was installed at the time of the house construction, according to the Plumbing Code standards. Milani sent a plumber named Joe. I'm going to try to do a short story here, but it is really hard because of the magnitude of the damage that ensued and time wasted; and the subsequent response by Milani, this last point being the most important. I can understand somebody making a mistake, but what I can not come to term with is the unprofessionalism and Milani's response to it. While the plumber was at my house, I asked him a few questions about the product and he was arrogant in his answers; he also did not bother to protect the flooring and I had to do that myself. Consequence of Joe's visit to my residence: Significant water damage due to a pipe that Joe left unconnected (he said I don't know what this pipe is, but it's going to be fine), burned / sparks marks on my brand new flooring, located directly in front of the hot water tank, at the exact location where Joe was standing, which Joe appears to have tried to conceal by cleverly but oddly dragging a piece of furniture over them before leaving my place (protecting the flooring would have been too much work for him I guess). Several hours spent on hold trying to get Milani to follow-up on the damage, as they were trying to cut corners at every step. A major patching and painting job (factor in dust, mess, mayhem) that lasted for several weeks in a row. Milani offered to cut and patch my brand new carpet which was damaged by Joe's carelessness (I paid over 2K for the carpet a year ago). So instead of telling you all the details of the ordeal with Milani, I only want you to know that if they mess up, they will not come rushing to fix it or compensate you. Instead, they will try to deny responsibility, put you on hold, and try to resolve things to THEIR satisfaction. It will soon be four months since the initial damage, and they still have not wrapped up. They made me feel like I had to beg after the mess THEY caused. I had to argue and insist with them at every step of the restoration process to get them to follow-up. They DO NOT follow-up on their own initiative. I have had to insist, send emails, spend hours on hold, follow-up by phone, miss work, lose sleep, etc. I strongly advise you to get a referral for a trustworthy and knowledgable independent plumber instead of calling Milani. Don't call that dreaded number. I had a city inspector come to my place and the work they performed does NOT meet the Plumbing Code standards.Answer from pro:
The technician does not recall causing any burn marks on the carpet, this burn is located on a section of carpet underneath the bed in a different room than where the Hot Water Tank is located. Without accepting blame, Milani has agreed to repair the carpet at no cost to the owner. Milani offered to cut and patch the carpet and the owner was notified that this "may" have a visible seam; repairs were agreed by the Owner. When carpet repair technicians arrived and reminded her that the seam may be visible, the owner changed her mind on the agreed repairs and demanded that Milani pay her $579.53 as "compensation" for the burn marks... at this point, the source of the burn marks has still not been confirmed. Milani offered a reasonable and fair settlement of $200 as compensation. The Owner refused Milani's offer of $200 compensation and after considerable review, Milani agreed to pay the demanded $579.53 for the carpets if the Owner agreed that this would satisfy her as a full resolution for the damages claimed. The baseboards in the room were removed to complete all repairs and these were left off in anticipation that the carpet repairs would be completed. Since the Owner refused to have the carpets repaired as agreed. Milani has offered, on numerous occasions to return to install the baseboards and provide the demanded reimbursement of $579.50 provided the owner agrees that this will satisfy full resolution of the damages. The “pipe dangling” is part of a previous plumbers work, done incorrectly which Milani cannot be responsible for, however Milani has taken all measures to rectify any issues caused by this pipe. Milani has offered on many occasions to complete all outstanding damage repairs once the owner confirms that these will satisfy all of her demands.

I called Milani for a hair clog in our bathtub. John, the plumber was able to come in a couple of hours. He completed the work quickly and professionally. They are not the cheapest, but Milani does great work, has knowledgeable and courteous staff, and is trustworthy. I am giving them a 9/10, not 10/10 because other companies can provide the same service for less money (this was a very small job). However, I would still recommend Milani because I believe that they did an excellent job.
