    Install new eaves throughing

In this terrific age of online reviews from end users on sites like TripAdvisor, Amazon and Homestars, you no longer have to buy something or hire someone blindly. I trusted the reviews here and have not been let down. I needed to replace the eaves on my elderly parent's house due to leaks and constant back ups due to leaves and pine needles and raccoon damage. I met with Laura who punctually showed up at the agreed time and date and she costed our job in the two ways I asked her to break it down. On the day of the install I met Darren the owner and was pleased that he is a hands on owner right in there working with his friendly crew. I found him knowledgeable, on time, friendly, honest and took the time to explain the issues. His explanations made logical sense and after speaking with him I was delighted to find him down to earth and that he was free of the too often encountered contractor arrogance / BS / snow job etc. Job was done quickly, on time, on budget, and cleanly and the end results look great. It's December now and hence no rain to see it working but I'm sure the eaves will not be on my worry list. I may have to hire him again for my house too.

    Eavestrough,Soffit, Fascia & LED Lighting

After having our Chimney repaired and a new steel roof installed, our final 2014 home improvement was the replacement of the eavestroughs, (with leaf guard ) soffit, and fascia. We were also considering and after consulting with Darren decided on proceeding with the installation of lighting the sides of our home with LED lighting in the soffits. I had seen North Shore doing quality work in our neighbourhood, so I researched them on HomeStars and the positive reviews re enforced what I had seen for myself. I phoned and was pleasantly and professionally greeted by Laura who would answer all my questions, took down all my information and finally came (due to volume of work ) to the house to take measurements ,pictures, and note all of my requests for information about LED lighting . After Darren came out to finalize some details about the lighting and drop off samples for the aluminum colour selection, Laura prepared and sent out the detailed estimates which were fair and reasonable for the amount of work that needed to be done. This was all done in August and I was told that due to the volume of work it would probably be October that the work would be done. Laura called the week before the installers were to come to ensure that the time was good for us. Nick And Darren were at the house on the promised date and time. They were very courteous and considerate taking every precaution to ensure that all of my landscaping was protected and there was no disruption or damage to the properties of my neighbours. This was a fairly large job that required 3 long days to complete. At the end of each day upon termination of their work you would not had known anyone had been there working that day, that's how well they cleaned up. Darren and Nick do very high quality work and the finished product is a reflection of their efforts. Every one at North Shore Eavestroughing are courteous, professional, take great pride in the work they do, and are a pleasure to deal with. I would not hesitate to recommend North Shore to anyone who require the products and workmanship they provide.

    Eavestrough Replacement

Our old eaves were filled with decomposed leaves and downspouts were cracked and not positioned optimally. Laura at North Shore explained our options and came by the house to take lots of pictures before creating a proposal and estimate. Their team was really great - helping us figure out a way to re-route the water flow from our eaves to prevent any issues down the road. Their team booked the onsite work fast and did a really great job on our house. Darren and Nick who did the work were awesome. They walked us through the plan for the day before they got started and were really respectful of our house and garden beds to prevent any damage while they worked. They even found a small issue with our chimney flashing and fixed it immediately. Great guys. Great work.

Hi Melanie, It may sound a bit corny, but the truth, is the customer comes first. I am glad that Darren and Nick were able to fix the flashing on your chimney. Thank you for the review

    Eaves above Master Bedroom

After getting fed up with the terrible service at another company that I used, I contacted North Shore. They had provided a quote on earlier projects that I had done for me. Well, was I ever pleased with their work and prompt customer service! I received a quote within 3 days of submitting my request. Laura was very receptive and friendly. When I called a couple of days after signing the quote to find out when the work could be done, she totally surprised me by saying that the crew could fit me in 2 days time! When Darren showed up he wanted to understand what needed to be done and clarified the scope of work. He also explained how long it would take. He also showed me pictures of some flashing that needed to be done and explained the cost to me in a no pressure and calm way. I even got those pictures emailed to me within a week of paying for the work. I will be using North Shore in the future. Thank you Darren & Laura. Keep up the great work and customer experience.

    heater cable

We have been having problems with ice build up in an eavestrough on the south side of our home, resulting in the sidewalk below becoming an ice rink. North Shore provided a quote on installing a heater cable in the eavestrough. Everyone we dealt with was polite and thoroughly explained how the cable would work and answered all of our questions. Timing was not an issue since we simply needed it installed prior to the Winter, which did happen. We did have one small glitch with the installation but this was addressed fully and in a manner that was satisfactory to us. It is clear to me that this company is cares about their reputation and will go the extra mile to ensure the customer is happy.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you, Tammy. Each installation is different and small things will come up but we will strive to make every customer happy.

    Eavestrough installation

North Shore was excellent from start to finish. They even went out of their way to fix another minor roofing repair unrelated to their job. Most importantly, they were honest and priced competitively.

    Answer from pro:

We really appreciate you taking the time to write this review. We are glad we are able to solve the small roofing issue, too.

    Eavestroughs

Prior to calling North Shore, I had a different company do repairs to my leaking eavestroughs. They patched the corners. However there continued to be large drips around the perimeter of my house when it rained. This company said it was ‘normal’ and failed to address the issue. I called in North Shore, and they assessed and corrected the problem which was due to the shingles curling under at the eaves troughs. They put flashing around the perimeter of the house and rerouted another downspout that was draining too close to the house. They even dealt with a wasp’s nest that was in the roofline. Northstars were very responsive, fair in price and were most helpful in ensuring that all of the problems, no matter how minor were addressed. I am confident in their work and diligence and would highly recommend them.

    Answer from pro:

It is important to look at the whole rain water management issue. Simply replacing the eavestroughs, may not deal with the whole problem. - Glad we could be of assistance, Edna

    Eaves replacement

This job included replacing eves, changing the location of downspouts, and adding fascia to the surround of the carport. Darren, the owner, provided knowledgable explanations to my numerous questions. Another company quoted without doing the carport fascia as that was part of another division and the work did not meet the dollar minimum. North Shore was able to meet my needs of adding a carport fascia as well as adding a small panel to cover exposed wood at the end of the carport and capping the downspout that went into the driveway. Some of these items are small in nature but make for a great final look. On-site, Nick & Rob were punctual, personable, detail-oriented and showed pride in there work by providing additional knowledgable insight to some options for installation. Thanks again.

    Eavestroughing Replacement

I am writing this review at the request of my mother. She was very happy with the staff and services of North Shore. It was such a relief to her that the job was completed to her utmost satisfaction. The staff were kind and very professional. They arrived at the planned time and did a few extra tasks that were identified upon the contractor arrival. Having had a very poor experience with a porch contractor recently, this good experience with North Shore elevated her spirits and took one more item off her "To Do list". Thanks North Shore..job well done! Daughter of Mrs. C./ Scarboro
