    Replace and Repair downpipe

I called for quote to replace/repair downspout & attach to wall off driveway. The job was completed within a week with one problem when I emailed the mistake it was fixed next day. Laura in office was an absolute pleasure.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Sandra for the high marks! We stand by our work and if something was not done to spec on the contract, for what ever reason we take care of things. Our reputation is at much at stake on a small repair job or a big project. We are thankful for the trust you put in us to do this small project for you. Darren

    Re-attach down spout at roof

Great service from initial phone call to completion of work, The job was to re-attach down spout at the roof and removal of debris from some of the evestroughing. Also, other companies wanted to charge me $100 for just an estimate. Why would anyone even bother getting service from such companies. You are always worried if the estimate turns out to be too high, then you still have to pay $100 and still be stuck without repairs.

Thanks for the nice review! We do not often specialize in small repairs but if time allows we can sometimes make exceptions. We appreciate you taking time out of your day to write this for us! Darren

New Eavestroughs (with TRex leafguard) and Downspouts

We purchased a home last summer and the home inspection picked up that we needed new eavestroughs. We knew it would have to wait for Spring but started gathering referrals and Darren's name came up. We contacted him and he quickly arranged to visit to view the job and provide a quote. Beyond simply replacing the existing eavestroughs he was able to see that we also needed to have them re-routed to ensure the water was being directed away from the house. I asked about leaf guard and he explained everything fully. His quote was prompt and fair. His crew undertook the work very soon after and were done in one day. Arriving home from work I wouldn't have known they were there other than the new eavestroughs and downspouts. There was one section at the back of the garage that was not accessible for his crew so Darren and I spoke on the phone the next day and came up with an alternate solution. His crew were back the next day and completed everything as discussed. We are very happy with the results and would very much recommend North Shore. In fact, they will be working on my parents home in the very near future.

Thanks Mark for taking the time to write this review! We appreciate the referral to your Dad as well! We did this project nice and early as you and I were looking at the home in knee deep snow for the estimate! It was a pleasure to work for both of you. Let us know if we can be of service moving forward. Darren

    Eavestrough

A number or years ago, before the mandatory downspout disconnect program came into effect, I had North Shore replace my old eavestroughs. Their work was exceptional and has stood the test of time. When I decided to disconnect from the city storm drains I had no hesitation calling them back. Far from an easy project, it required skirting fences and changing the pitch of the eaves, they came up with an imaginative aesthetically pleasing solution. They not only do great work, they are great to work with. Dennis Forbes

    Heater Cable

North Shore installed a heater cable in our gutter a few years ago. It was great in preventing ice dams, but this summer, a squirrel chewed through the cable. I have been trying for months for them to reply to me about a fix/solution, but my requests keep going unheeded. I give up.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Nicole, thanks for letting us know how you feel about the service you have received from us. First off we are glad to hear that you are happy with our original work we did in 2011! We do not take a 2 out of 10 lightly and realize you must be extremely frustrated. Having a hard to get rid of squirrel chewing through parts of your home can be a real nightmare. Seeing an ice dam on your home which needs a working heater cable can be trying. We have looked back through our correspondence and can see where we dropped the ball in a couple of places with all the back in forth, with you receiving a quote for the new heater cable and also with you presenting an idea for putting the new heater cable in copper conduit. The first error on our end was sending the quote for a new heater cable to your old email address. That caused a delay of a few weeks. Sorry! With that being said you contacted us late in the season, Dec 4th to be exact, I am not sure we would have been able to complete the work before the ice dams set in. I can also see where I could have been faster giving Laura the information you were looking for in terms of a squirrel proof heater cable system. I had dragged my feet a bit because I honestly did not know what the best solution was for this situation. That is why we sent a quote for a new heater cable as the solution. I am not comfortable designing a new system of conduit etc. for the first time and having our client pay for it. There is the risk it may not perform like we intend and we would feel terrible in that case. Also it would cost you extra to construct this conduit system. We also feel that putting the heater cable down in the eavestroughs, under the leaf guard may not be the best option as the snow and ice may bridge right over the leaf guard. I understand that a lot of people seek us out because we are experts and go above and beyond to alleviate homeowners frustrations with their eavestroughs but in this case I do not have the answer you were hoping for. I followed up with a phone call to your home today. On our visit to your home in 2011 we did some leaf guard and downpipe work and the cost for the actual cable in question was $650.00. I do feel the review is harsh but it taught us a few things and I am thankful for that. Its the bumps along the way that show a companies true colors. I hope you accepted my apology by phone last week for lack our promptness in a couple of our emails. Darren

    Repairing Eavestroughing

A delivery truck reversed into my driveway and did not notice their truck was too high and smashed into the northeast corner of my eavestroughing. North Shore was excellent throughout the entire process and repaired the eavestrough promptly and professionally. I would definitely recommend this company to you.

    Answer from pro:

We are glad to hear that and appreciate you taking the time to tell us how we did! Darren

    Eavestroughs

We had damage to our eavestrough as a result of a winter storm. Although it wasn't a big job, North Shore treated us with the same respect and professionalism as if we were a major contract. The office staff were helpful and friendly and the job was done quickly and was very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend North Shore Eavestroughing.

Thanks for the kind words and we are thankful you took the time to write a review for a small project! Darren

    New Eavestroughing

I called North Shore after many attempts to get other companies I called to even return a phone call. They were prompt in going out to see my house and requirements, gave me advance notice of when they would be on site and finished the work in one day. I spoke to the crew foreman, Nick, twice during the course of the day clarifying different aspects of the installation, and found him to be polite, friendly and very helpful. I came home from work to find the job complete and done to perfection. The old eavestroughs were packed full of leaves and yet not a single leaf remained anywhere, they were meticulous at cleaning up the work site and took away all the old eavestroughs and all the leaves in them. Fabulous job, great company to work with. Would highly recommend them.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the great review! Nick does quality work and treats our clients with respect. He can handle many aspects of the business and is a great asset to our team! I will forward the kind words along. Darren

    Eaves trough

I called North Shore for a quote on fixing a poorly disconnected downspout. It was not a large job but also not a completely straight forward job. North Shore was very professional to deal with. They sent someone to provide a quote and even came back a second time to gather more information before giving the quote. When I decided to go with them, North Shore completed the work promptly. The people who came to do the actual repair were polite and their work was neat.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Joanna. When disconnecting a downspout it is important that the water drain away from the home foundation. One also needs to make sure that the pipe doesn't create an icy mess on a driveway or tripping hazard on a walkway.
