What can I say that has not already been said about Steve? All of the reviews posted are 100% spot on. He went above and beyond to ensure that we got the best possible operation from our garage door and our garage door opener. He truly is a class act and a very funny guy. I look forward to doing business with him again and I would recommend him for all your garage door needs.

I've been in my new home for about 2 months now and my wife and I finally had enough of manually opening our garage doors, after a lot of research I decided to go with Steve at Open Sesame simply because when I spoke to him on the phone he was the only person out of numerous companies I called that took the time to explain each model, their advantages disadvantages when compared to other models. His prices are also much MUCH better than any other company's quotes. I first ended up choosing a Liftmaster 3585 and was told he would be at my place in two days to install the night before Steve called an apologized that he did not have any 3585's in stock so he upgraged me to the top of the line model 3850 for no extra charge. Steve and his helper were both courteous and professional but man they had me in stitches with their jokes. It took them longer than expected due to some issues with my garage door, issues that he fixed for me for free. At the end of the job all I can say is I have two extremely quiet garage door openers (quietest on the street) I bet and have made a really good friend. Honestly DON'T waste your time calling around Open Sesame is the company you want to do work our garage, other companies will send contractors, with Steve you get his knowledge and time and he also repalces garage doors, which i plan to do in the next few years. There's only one person I will trust with that job. Thanks Steve!!!

Initially I got 3 quotes including one from Open Sesame. They all came within plus minus $20 of each other but Open Sesame offered a much better garage opener plus after reading so many good reviews, I decided to give the job to Steve (owner). Just like many customers have written, Steve is indeed very meticulous in his work and took the time to explain the additional features he added to the door to make it lasts. There is no mess after he and his partner finished the work. Best of all, he has a great sense of humour. I would strongly recommend Open Sesame to any one who's looking to replace the garage door.

I loved Steve - he was funny, informative, and did a fantastic job on our garage door. Someone else initially told us the only solution was $800 for a new door and installation. But we called Steve who diagnosed the problem by phone, swung by with extra parts which he gave me for free, told funny jokes the whole time as he fixed the door, and showed me everything I needed to know about my garage door opener (which he wasn't even there to fix - it was the door itself that was broken)... ...And on top of everything else he CHARGED ME LESS than estimated by phone because it 'didn't take him as long as he expected'. WOW!! Great guy, great service, door works like a charm!!! Thank you Steve - you rock!

Last fall after moving into our new house, we wanted a garage door opener that was powerful, quiet and reliable. We really needed help fast before the cold of winter began as it would get difficult to complete the work. Well, we received superb service and got our wish very quickly. We would highly recommend Open Sesame.

I had a problem with my garage door, specifically with the safety sensors causing the door to reverse during closing. I called Steve since he had such great reviews on Homestars and Steve didn't dissapoint. Steve took the time to listen to my problem over the phone and had the professionalism to walk me through a few solutions of how I could fix the problem myself. Steve commented that a problem such as mine didn't require a service call, saving me $85. He was right because I fixed myself and my garage door works! I would highly recommend Steve and his company.

It is very tricky to retro-fit a garage door into an existing very old door. The specialists in this company were able to suggest many different options for systems and styles that would work for our garage. Thanks for all you help!

I called Steve when my garage door opener stopped working based on reviews & was not disappointed. I thought I would need a new opener, but in less than 24 hours it was repaired and working like new. The service was friendly, professional and fast!

Contacted Open Sesame based on high ratings from Homestars community when my garage door started behaving erratically. Spoke with Steve who, despite being very booked for the day I requested, said he would fit me in. Steve showed up as promised. Not only did he fix the issue, but he was clearly very interested in my learning to diagnose and fix the problem in future. The garage door has never worked better! Excellent customer service. Would highly recommend.

My garage door opener was failing about two weeks ago. It would only open about two feet and stop. Then.. it just stopped opening or closing or working at all. I was prepared to replace the opener and started pricing out new ones at Costco, Home Depot, Canadian Tire etc. I found this company on HomeStars and read the review from others. Before buying a new opener, I called Steve one night, left a message and he called me back first thing the next morning. He was friendly and offered me different option including ideas on how I could save my money (greatly appreciated). He quoted me on the cost for him to supply a new opener, the cost for him to install any opener that I had purchased and finally (his recommendation) was to refurbish the good opener that I already had. Turns out that the plastic gears in these opener only last about 10—12 years when people don’t lubricate them. I wasn’t in a hurry to fix the door, so we settled on a price and a date that was convenient for both of us. Steve (and his assistant Bob) showed up fairly promptly on Saturday morning and did everything in about two hours. They replaced the broken gears, cleaned the unit, balanced my door, tightened the door bolts and lubricated all the moving parts. My opener will now last me another 10+ years and it cost me half the price of a new opener. Steve was friendly, joked with me and did a very good job in my opinion.
