About four years ago I had Penfolds replace my asphalt shingle roof and I was very happy with them, but that's not why I'm writing.
During a recent windstorm my parents' (who are in their 70's) had their roof significantly damaged. I received a call from my Dad, who was exasperated and didn't know where to turn or exactly what to do. Remembering how happy I was with my roof replacement, I told him that I would get a hold of someone at Penfolds and reassured him that it was going to be alright. I phoned Penfolds and asked to have someone onsite at my parents' house as soon as possible.
A few hours later I got a call from my Dad saying that a Technical Rep from Penfolds called Michael was onsite to discuss the damage and he was currently walking around helping to pick up branches in the yard. My Dad was very impressed with how reassuring Michael was and that he seemed to truly empathize with their situation.
Later that same day someone was again onsite to tarp the damaged roof and a few days later a crew was replacing the roof (which had been irreparably damaged). The work was great, the speed with which the repairs occurred was great, but far and away the best thing about the whole experience was the personal service and humanity displayed by everyone at Penfolds dealing with a couple of senior citizens who were in a tough situation.
I have recommended them on a number of occasions and I will certainly do so again.
