new roof
Our old roof was approximately 15 years old. We developed a leak in both our dining room and living room. It turns out that it has been leaking for approximately 2 years which means we only got 13 years out of our old roof! I watched Smart Roofing remove the old shingles. There was only some cheap black tar paper under the 1st three feet and was attached by VERY few nails. The shingles were attached by 3 nails each at the most! There were 4 vents. I did a lot of research into various companies and had 3 come out. Smart Roofing was the only one who showed a great deal of concern in the leak both on the phone and in person. Jerry came out the very next business day. He realized the seriousness of the roof leak and how bad the shingles had deteriorated in such a short time. In less than a week after phoning Smart Roofing we now have a beautiful brand new roof with an amazing warranty. We can't say enough about the courtesy, quality and professionalism of the crew. They obviously take a great deal of pride in their work. They didn't just clean up at the end of the job, they constantly cleaned up during the job. There wasn't a piece of paper left after they had finished. The day after the job was completed, Jerry came out and inspected it to make sure it was perfect. I mentioned the four vents earlier. Smart Roofing installed 6 perfectly colour coordinated vents. As far as nailing the shingles down, Smart Roofing used at least 5 nails per shingle. They installed 6 feet of ice, and water guard from the eves trough up and then covered the rest of the roof in a felt underlayment. Its no wonder they have won awards for their work. So, for a rating out of 5, I would give them a 10. Thank you Smart Roofing.
