Sonoma contracting had done our basement a few years back and we were so happy with the work, reliability and price that we had Mike do our bathroom. We were thrilled again with Sonoma and will use them again when we do our other bathroom and the basement in our new house. It is so hard to find a contractor who says what he means and does a good job. If this is what you want, use Mike at Sonoma.

I came to know Mike through a friend of mine who recommended that I speak to him for our project. We were very happy with the staff Mike has working for him, they are all professional & courtious, and made sure that they cleaned up after each day of work. The basement was transformed into an area that we now can enjoy. Mike made some suggestions as to where to locate our kitchen & office and in the end the space was utilized well. I am in the building supply business, and I can tell you that I have dealt with many Contractors over the years, however working with Sonoma Contracting has truly been a great experience and has restored my thinking that there are still a few good people out there that are not in business just to make a buck, but who truly take pride in what they do. I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone who wants a good job for a fair price & in a timely fashion.

After reading other positive reviews of Sonoma on Homestars we invited Mike to provide us an estimate. We had previously met with other contractors to provide quotes but Mike stood out among the pack. Throughout the project Mike was well organized, promptly responded to questions and maintained a clean work site. Mike is a professional who takes pride in his work and has a friendly "customer first" approach (which included bring the occasional Tim Horton's coffee for us). We had several customized features we wanted to include in our basement project and Mike had great suggestions to make them even better than we had originally planned. We are very pleased with the work that was completed ahead of schedule and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and we expect to ask Mike to do future work for us.

Our basement renovation is going to be more than we can afford at once, so Mike worked with us to fit our budget and phasing in of the renovation. As a result, his crew dug up our floor, replaced and relocated drains and poured us a nice level floor. All within a shorter timeframe than anticipated. Mike was also quick to respond to any questions or inquiries we had along the way. I would have given him a 10, but can anyone be perfect? Only gripe I have would be cleanup/restoration. Nothing terrible, but what am I going to do with some old drains and used 2x4 and plywood? I already have a pile of junk building, just wasn't looking forward to having to dispose of more. We do look forward to calling Sonoma back to do some more/finish the work when our budget permits.

Hi. My partner and I have recently started renovating our first home, specifically our basement. Needless to say, we are completely ignorant and easy targets. Mike and Aldo were kind from the start, invited us to look at their existing basement projects (Mike even gave me a ride to the go train, with my bike, because it was raining), and bent over backwards to give us a great quote. Their professional pride knows no bounds. They do not take shortcuts and they go out of their way to help you understand the work they're doing. It was clear from the outset, after getting quotes from a number of contractors, that Mike was the most competitive and reasonably priced. It was also clear that we were the most comfortable in dealing with him. He did not disappoint. Mike always responded personally to any concerns. He was always available and any questions were resolved to our satisfaction. The work was quality and we are very pleased with our basement. It turned out how we wanted and we were happy we chose Mike. We would recommend him.

Mike and his crew were great in helping to restore and improve our basement after a sewer back-up destroyed the flooring and drywall. They were trustworthy enough for us to give them the run of the house while we were working. Other than an initial short delay, things went efficiently and smoothly. We made a few changes to the flooring and parts of the laundry room, which they accommodated with ease and minimal additional cost. The quality of the carpentry and painting was excellent. Mike shopped around at many stores to find matching laminate for our wine cellar and did not blink an eye at returning his initial purchase when another colour suited us better. He returned to personally install shelving after the job was done and offered to come back later to cut a counter top for us that was not in his initial contract. We found the company to be professional, flexible and attentive. All workers were friendly and skilled. We would definitely consider Sonoma for future projects.

Sonoma redid our entire basement. Leveling the floors, insulating, drywall, plumbing, electrical, painting, and much much more. Mike, Aldo, and the crew were so easy-going yet professional. Whenever we had a question or a problem it was addressed immediately and always to our satisfaction. Even after we made our final payment, Mike noticed a part of the job that needed improvement that we had missed and the next day it was corrected. Could you ask for anything more? I would recommend Sonoma to anyone looking for a great contacting team.

When Mike came out to give us a quote for our basement reno we knew right away his company were the ones we wanted to work with, not only was it a great price but Mike had some great ideas to help us make use of our space. Work began on time and got of to a great start but we got held up for 6 weeks due to the city workers strike (couldn't get inspectors in). During this time Mike and his crew did what they could to keep the project on schedule. Once the strike had ended Mike had the inspectors in (everything passed no problems) and we where back on track. Before we new it the drywall had gone in and was quickly followed by the flooring(wood,tile) doors and trim. Final inspections passed no problems and now we have a basement apartment which we can be proud of. Work carried out: Leveling sub floor install in floor heating and replace plumbing new concrete floor framing electrical rewiring pot lights Plumbing(includes finishing) drywall tiling floor install doors and trim new stairs. Throughout the whole project we worked closely with Mike and his crew, Aldo(thanks for coming out at eight in the evening to check our heating was working) Frank,Tony and Tony, the electrical guys, the plumbers, all of whom where quick ,tidy and respectful to us and out home. P.s we just got out first tenant couldn't be happier.

This is our second contract job with Mike. We called him again to do some renovations on our bedroom. A few years ago, he renovated the entire basement. The bedroom looks great and we are very happy with it. Mike is well organized, and he is very easy-going and helpful. If we had any questions he was able to give us an honest opinion. Mike's prices are fair and he is a trusting person. We would definitely call him again for any other projects.
