Professional. Kind. Courteous. Honest. It doesn't get much better than Mark. Always upfront with cost and follow up with changes in writing. Overall result is stunning. Project was supposed to take 6 weeks. And it did.

We were looking to open up our kitchen and dining room. Mark and Bill were very helpful in the design stage and Bill suggested leaving a frame to still add visual interest to the open space. It was a great idea and made it look bigger rather than smaller. It was a total kitchen gut, switched the entrance to the basement, took out a wall, added a railing to the new opening to the basement. The Renovation was done on time and on budget. The few added costs were resulted from changes we made during the Reno like open the back window up wider and adding a new dining room window,many some extra electrical work needed to upgrade our older mixed wiring. Marks crew, especially John were great to work with and made us feel comfortable leaving the house in their hands. One of the most impressive parts of the renovation was the carpentry work. Marks guys milled wood on site to have it match with our almost 90 year old woodwork in the rest of the house and his painter Tony matched the stain so that it looks original. We have recommended Total Renovations to friends.

This was a very large project. We completely gutted an existing 1200 sq ft historic home and added almost an additional 800 sq ft - a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, completely new wiring and plumbing, new windows and doors, a new heating system, etc. Mark and his crew were exceptional from concept to completion in every respect. Mark laid out the construction schedule over the more than five months estimated to complete the project. Each week he met with my wife and me to go over what had been done the week before and what would be done in the week to come. His full crew was on the job everyday during the entire project. Neighbours consistently commented on how clean the job site was and how polite and respectful they were. When we fell behind schedule due to weather or other unforeseeable variables, Mark compensated swiftly. On a project he estimated would take a little more than five months, we were only delayed by one week getting in! This is unheard of. The quality of workmanship is superb and Mark's followup since we finished the project a year ago has been excellent. On the few minor adjustments that have been needed, he has responded immediately. We absolutely love our house and have no hesitation in recommending Total Renovation.

This is a first class operation from Mark/Fred through to everyone that worked on the site. Everyone was always up front, accessible, respectful and accommodating to our questions. Despite the best plans, we still had several surprises from renovations past. The adjustments made on the fly were done with sound thought and planning accessing experts as needed, Still, they managed to keep the timing of completion and costs reasonable. I especially liked the fact that it seems the first priority is doing it right and they placed a high value on safety. They don't take shortcuts and it showed during construction and in the end product. When they were done, we were very happy with the quality of work. Still I have waited a few months before writing this to see if there were any issues came up. So far, one minor issue was corrected promptly, properly and permanently. I really don't think there will be any others but if something comes up I am sure they will be there to resolve it. The price was excellent value for the quality of workmanship and the peace of mind during and after the project. Thanks.

After a botched job by a company the shall remain nameless, Total Renovations came to the rescue. I only wish I had hired them from the start. They were kind and polite. The quality of their work and follow up was exceptional. Fred did a great job explaining the pricing and procedures to me. I believe I received excellent value for the service. Special thank-you to Mark & the rest of the crew for taking the stress out of renovating. I have recommended this company to friends and they were equally pleased. Doing business they way it should be; honest, open and fair!

We had Mark and his crew in to remodel our main bathroom. This is the second time we have had Mark come in to do some renovations. We are completely satisfied with the work they have done. I can't say enough about the crew at total renovations. They showed up everyday on time and their work was fantastic!! We would definately call Mark for any other renovations we needed done!!

We thought a lot about doing a big reno to our existing bungalo and I have met quite a few contractors over the last few years to discuss options. Total Renovations is in my opinion the needle in the haystack. Before the project started we had many meetings to discuss all aspects of the job. The crew showed up everyday, rain or shine and were great guys. All the neighbours commented on how clean the site was and also how nice the crew was. High quality work, on schedule and always available to discuss anything. We get lots of compliments on our house and are very satisfied with the experience. I would and do recommend Total Renovations to anyone looking to do the job right.

Our bathroom looks great. Total Renovations started the project on the date promised, was punctual, left the work area neat & clean at the end of each day. Total Renovations recommended suppliers who were very helpful. Overall the work is excellent and it has added value, both esthetically and financially, to our house.

In 2006, my wife and I upon the purchase of our house, wanted to renovate the existing bathroom and kitchen. This involved knocking down 2 walls. Little did we know that the contractor that was referred to us from our real estate's agent designer, would be incompetent beyond our widest imaginations. After that disaster, we promised ourselves that next time, we will use take our time, vet contractors more seriously, visit their worksites. We were lucky to find Mark Madigan as his company was renovating my sister in laws' bathroom. When we saw the detail of their work, we were committed to picking Total Renovations after we met with 3 other reputable contractors found on Homestars. We can say that Total Renovations has not disappointed us. Mark is a perfectionist and is their when you need him. His experience, helped us when disaster occured. The previous contractor's work resulted in us having to do a complete rehaul of our structural support in our kitchen and basement. Mark's team and his industry contacts saved the day for us. We can't be more happy how our kitchen, bathroom, hallway and windows turned out. Mark's foreman, John is incredible and is all about the details. Mark is very responsive and will fix issues that pop up. Recently afte the work was done in June 2011, they came by in March 2012 to do some touch ups. We are looking forward to working with Mark and his team going forward. Sometimes you have to pay for quality. Total renovations is well worth it.

I had a total gut renovation of my small kitchen in my 1930’s house done during the spring of 2011 by Total Renovation. It involved the replacement of an extra large sliding door with a new door and window, reconfiguration of the interior layout, installation of a gas line and reinforcement of the floor. The end result is truly amazing. I never imagined I would have such an incredibly beautiful, functional, and well constructed kitchen. Working with Mark and his team at Total Renovation was a pleasure from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially since I had originally planned on moving to avoid the entire project! The level of attention to my wish list and my concerns was truly impressive. Mark always made himself available to quickly answer my questions and discuss options throughout the process. A couple of small concerns I had with the work were quickly resolved to my full satisfaction. I am also very impressed with his choice of finishes and materials which demonstrates his keen interest in ensuring a quality product that is also in keeping with the style of the rest of the home. He carefully chooses the trades and other professionals he recommends, works with, and brings into your home. His recommended suppliers paid off in spades with stunning cabinetry and a beautiful cork floor. I would highly recommend Total Renovation and am looking forward to working with Mark on future projects. Mark, you and your staff and associates are truly a dream team!
