We have had Total Renovations into our house 3 times for a medium and small changes to our house in Davisville. Each time we were very happy with the level of serivce, description of the work and quality. They have on each time delivered on-time and ob-budget. For me you get what you pay for and although they are not the cheapest I am willing to pay a little extra for the piece of mind.

We had some really bad experiences with contractors, and were very lucky to find Mark and his team at Total Renovations. They did several projects for us. The work was excellent. They were professional to deal with, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them. They were very, very, good.

We had a gas fireplace installed and Total Renovations custom built the mantle and installed a slate hearth and slate facing. Very professional, on time and very nice to deal with. Would recommend to anyone. Quality work. Thank you!

From our initial meeting to the completion of our upstairs bathroom renovation, we found Mark Madigan and his team professional and considerate of our needs. Mark showed us his binder with photos of other projects he had completed in the neighbourhood, so that we knew the quality of the workmanship. We were fully informed at each stage as to what was happening. We were delighted with how the guys cleaned up every day before leaving and how they covered the stairs and hallway to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum. We have already asked Mark to give us an estimate on our next project.

Our bathroom reno had to be planned and constructed on short notice as we took possession of a house without a working shower. We had one month to completely gut and rebuild a large bathroom with some hidden issues as the house is 90 years old. Mark provided us with a thorough detailed quote, helped us make our selections at Tapworks, was in touch almost daily by email or phone, and gave us good solid advice. He made excellent recommendations for an environmental assessment and other things we hadn't considered. John's workmanship is incredible. His skills include plumbing, framing, drywalling, wiring, tiling, and an eye for design. Other contractors Mark recommended, for example our painter, Rob, and our carpet supplier, also provided excellent service. It's so nice to be able to rely on the experience and ability of professionals who have high standards of excellence. When a renovated space will be having a daily impact on people for a long time, you want it to be more than mediocre. With good design and excellent construction, our bathroom is delightful!

We had Total Renovations do a complete gut-job of our main bathroom upstairs in our 85-year-old semi-detached. Positives: = All workers were courteous, professional, and friendly. = Mark was accessible and prompt in his response to our emails = Total Reno cleaned up nicely EVERY day to keep the rest of the house liveable = Total Reno provided experience and helpful advice -- John in particular, who was the primary for this job, was fantasic. Challenges: = Job was originally quoted at 3 weeks, but took quite a bit longer to complete fully. However, to be fair, the majority of the work was completed within 5 weeks; the remaining time was due to several circumstances beyond Mark's control (e.g. ran into the Christmas holiday break; custom vanity and counter could not even be ordered until walls in, among others.). All in all, we weren’t really under a tight timeline so it didn’t bother us too much – it was just much longer than originally quoted. = Disappointed with the fixture supplier, Tapworks, as we found a number of instances where: they charged more than was advertised in the store, shipped incomplete or incorrect parts, and weren't very responsive to emails - furthermore, it did not appear that they gave any discount as Mark had indicated he could get. This was our first renovation project and overall we are quite pleased with the quality of work and level of professionalism that Total Renovation brings to the job. Costs were higher than all other contractors considered, however, we would definitely recommend Total Renovations and will consider them for all our future jobs!

After living in a bedroom we hated for 7 years, we now have nothing but great things to say about our space. The design is fabulous and the work was done economically but with very high quality. The Total Renovations team were professional, friendly and non-intrusive. Also our project manager was very helpful when dealing with unforeseen problems. He eased our stress which for anyone going through a reno is high! Thanks Mark, your a gem!!

Our relationship with Mark and Total started over 10 years ago. During that time we have hired them to finish the basement (which included excavation and underpinning), new bathroom, extending second floor, exterior stucco work, and waterproofing, new shed, and many other smaller jobs. The reason we call Mark without hesitation is that he has consistently delivered time after time, he is trustworthy and he and his family live in the community so you know he and his team stand by their work.

We did a full gut job on the kitchen/dinning room and bathroom with a 4 month old! We lived in the basement while the work was going on. Mark and his team were very considerate of the fact that we were still in the house and therefore, cleaned and organized the space at the end of every day. They also kept us in the loop regarding timing and managing expectations. The project was scheduled to be complete after 5 weeks. However, it went to 8 weeks but we were in the loop every step of the way and therefore knew what to expect. We're very happy with our new open space and wouldn't have done any thing differently!

Total Renovations have done a 400 sq ft addition (including basement), total bathroom renovation and we have also called them in to install central air and upgrade our exterior electrical pipe which also included brick replacement. In each of these times, Total Renovations have shown consistent quality of workmanship with their own team as well as any sub-contractors that were necessary. The work is done properly, on time and at a fair price. I have referred Mark Madigan and Total Renovations to many friends over the past 7 years who have been very pleased with their work and have called them back to do additional jobs as well. We appreciate their home maintenance program and decided to have our addition painted recently to keep it looking fresh and new. We look forward to Mark’s help on our next project of a badly needed kitchen renovation.
