I called Tropical asking for a service call to fix my furnace humidifier, which I said probably needed replacing, as I had replaced the solenoid and it still wouldn't work. I agreed to the $150 fee for the service call assuming at the cost that the technician would be able to fix or replace the unit, with parts costs being extra of course. The technician arrived as scheduled and spent ten minutes inspecting the humidifier only to tell me that it needed to be replaced, a fact that I told them when I initially called. The technician then took my Visa number and told me that he would send me a quote for the cost of a new unit plus installation. I received the quote as promised a few days later for $850 plus tax. The total cost, including the "service call" was over $1000! So I went on Amazon and bought a new Lennox (Aprilaire) humidifier for $200 and installed it myself. I hope that this review will help others and I strongly recommend doing your homework and calling several other companies before committing to any fees. Finally, I asked to speak to management about what I felt was an excessive fee for a 15 minute service call and was promised a call back, but that did not happen.

I had an issue with the installation of a coil from a previous supplier that I had been dealing with for almost a year now. When I tried to register my product with Lennox, I was declined my 10 Year Extended Parts Warranty due to confusion with the coil that was installed - I was informed that the evaporator coil installed was registered to somebody else. I decided to turn to a different supplier for a second opinion on whether the coil was an old product. Bob from Tropical Heating & Cooling came to conduct a site visit and review the product/installation. Bob confirmed that it was a brand new coil so I explained the situation about my warranty denial. Bob took it upon himself to go out of his way to help resolve my issue. I was blown away by his service given that the company who actually installed the coil dodged the situation and did absolutely nothing, even though it was their error. Bob reached out to Lennox and was able to secure the extended warranty on my coil. I was so impressed by the customer care from Bob, for going above and beyond to help me resolve my issue which was not even a result from their service. They are a trustworthy company with genuine employees who care about their customers. If I have any needs in the future I wouldn't hesitate to call them again, and I would definitely recommend them for any heating & cooling services.

I woke up on Boxing Day with no heat. My call to Tropical's emergency line was answered immediately and within the hour I received a call from the technician. He came a couple of hours later and diagnosed the problem as a failed motor. After a few calls he learned they had a replacement in stock. Even though it was a statutory holiday he was able to arrange for a manager to come to warehouse so he could pick up the part. In just a few hours I had a new motor ....and heat. Great job from the the technician and the company

The service people with Tropical are punctual, efficient and friendly. What else do you need to know? I guess maybe that they are also thorough; I'm always confident that my HVAC equipment will keep me comfortable.

I hired Tropical Heating and Air Conditioning to service my furnace and air conditioner along with some improvements to the air flow in our basement and main level. This company is incredible, they take the time to explain everything to you, so you have a great understanding on how to save energy in your home which of course saves you a lot of money in the long run. They are exceptional with their service and punctual. I would highly recommend this company to service your heating and air conditioning needs in your home.

I called Tropical to arrange a service call for my mid-efficiency furnace's flame sensor. I also asked to have the a/c coil above the furnace cleaned at the same time. It took a few calls to set the appointment date and get a quote. The service tech. arrived on time, but he thought he was supposed to service the flame sensor and clean some sort of condenser coil that is part of high efficiency furnaces. Cleaning the a/c coil would have taken more time, which he didn't have in his schedule that day, and would have cost more than I was originally quoted. Apart from this minor misunderstanding the rest of the job went well. The tech did a good job with the flame sensor. He was able to clean it instead of replace it, which saved me money. He also performed a comprehensive furnace maintenance. Afterwards he cut an inspection hole for the a/c coil, did a visual inspection, and showed me that it didn't need cleaning after all. Overall I'm happy with their service and will consider them again in the future.

I cannot tell you how happy and thankful I was to speak to a Tropical service man, late one night last week, and after the service call time window had ended. Our air conditioner had failed to start and this gentleman spent 20 minutes with me on the telephone as he gleaned that I was fairly savvy about most appliances. He asked me some questions about our recent renovation, and after testing voltages here and there, guided me to a reset button inside the outdoor unit. Voila..the air conditioner came to life! Although Tropical may have lost the next day service call revenue, their reputation now stands far above the crowd of appliance repair firms. Bravo Tropical! Thank you for putting client satisfaction ahead of a few dollars. I will be certain to receommend you to others and have already done so.

Dave really knows his stuff and I received a fair and detailed quote. The work was carried out on time and the 3 installers respected my house like it was their own. It's good to know that serious professionals exist in this business.

Dave was very knowlegab;le on product sold, competator's where not. His installers were on-time, very professional and cleaned up area after job was completed. Costs were in-line if not better than most.

I hired Tropical to replace my furnace when I first bought my house 10 years ago, and this year to replace my broken down A/C. As well, they service my system every year. All of their staff are courteous, punctual, honest and professional, and I highly reccommend them for all your heating and A/C needs. My A/C broke last week, I called them Monday,, Dave came by Wednesday, and my install happened on Friday, amazing consdiering we are in the hottest days of summer! Great company, highly reccommend!
