Stay AWAY from this Company! HORRIBLE customer service! So rude and she was cutting me off after every few words I was saying with her LOUD voice. I have rarely experienced anything like this. Then she started threatening me that they’re going to use their collection agency if I don’t pay. I used their service in 2015 and did not want to continue because I thought they were expensive. Yesterday (April 18/2016), they came and applied spring fertilizer and dropped off an invoice in my mailbox for $59. So they are forcing me to pay for a service that I didn’t ask for. I called them today and she told me that they are expecting me to pay the amount indicated on the invoice otherwise they will use their collection agency. I asked her to send me the paper work such as a contract or anything that shows that I am entitled to pay for this bill. She said everything is done verbally; there is no written contract. She said they called in October and I confirmed that I wanted to continue their service in 2016! Completely untrue! No one ever called me from this company in October or later. I can't believe this! Is this how this company making money? I have no intention of paying something that I don’t owe. Now I’m reading the reviews on homestars and see how dissatisfied other clients are with this company, I am really angry.Answer from pro:

STAY WAY ... Horrible customer service ... NEVER experienced such rude employees ... They even cursed me during our conversation. I signed up with them for 2015 service. There service was good. But i didnt want to continue their service , felt they were expensive. Called their office and cancelled the service. And what do they do ... They send me an invoice for 2016 somewhere in Oct 2015. So i call them back again to cancel their service and they confirm that it has been cancelled. But yesterday they came to house and applied the fertilizer and drop a bill for $59.60 at my door step. I call them the same evening and reported that i didnt ask for the service. And everything went south from here. They claim that they made a note that i called in and requested for service in 2016. I asked for a recording to prove their claim. And the Agent on the phone kept repeating that they only have a note in their system and they cannot provide me any other proof. To which i strongly disagree , i called them to call the service in OCT and not to renew it. I also asked them to send me email / letter to confirm that they have canceled any on going service ... and for that they said "Sorry we cannot send you a confirmation for cancellation. WHAT COMPANY DOESNOT SEND CANCELLATION NOTICES/CONFIRMATION ? Called them again today and had to go through the same ordeal again. And when i demanded to talk to a manager repeatedly , the Agent on phone cursed me .... I never heard of a customer being treated this bad. . And still forcing me to pay for the service that i didnt ask for.Answer from pro:

Responses from the Scarborough location rep is 'hype'. I have an ongoing dispute with that office for services that were cancelled but they kept applying their treatments and billing me. They are now threatening to use their collection agency.Answer from pro:

After many years of being a satisfied customer, I cancelled their services in March of this year. On April 25, one month later, they applied a Spring Fertilizer to my lawn in error. When I saw the invoice in my door jam I called them immediately. A young lady (whose name I wished I had asked for) told me this: "Oh yes, I see you did cancel, I will take care of it". I never thought about it again. Then, the nightmare started: harassing phone calls and "overdue" invoices were continuously mailed out to me. I called and spoke to someone who had the nerve to say to me that nobody spoke to me on that day I phoned and said "we will take care of it". I even sent an email explaining all of this and perhaps they should just admit they made a mistake and MOVE on. Then I get an invoice stating that after many unsuccessful attempts to reach me I have yet to respond to them. I HAVE responded on many occasions. Initially, I thought they were a reputable company but now I am horrified that they would harass me this much. I have no intention of paying something that I don't owe. And they are threatening to have a collections agency come after me. I cannot tell you how stressed this has made me.Answer from pro:
I am sorry to hear about your experience. I would ask that you call your local franchise and ask for a supervisor or manager to discuss your concerns, as it seems that you are outside my territory and have no access to your account. I am surprised to hear that after being a satisfied customer for many years you cancelled your services this past March? If you did cancel your services and the Customer service rep acknowledge that it was when you called the office, this issue should be easily fixed by a Supervisors/Manager in your local Weed Man franchise. Initial treatments (aerating, seeding, fertilizing) were all done in the wrong order! Eventually things got on track, but numerous occasions when the 'technician' didn't turn up. Calls to the office produced nothing but lame excuses and promises to rectify. The office staff had no idea of landscaping of any sort and could not seem to grasp that when a technician didn't show up on the allotted day, that it caused huge inconvenience to me - they didn't get it! Often, more calls had to be placed to get the work done - which, by the way was paid for up front! Towards the end of the summer season and into the fall, there was a perceived change (slightly better) in the attitude of the office staff. However, an intrinsic part of my fall program fell apart when a technician was due to come to do fall aeration on the Thanksgiving Friday. He called at 3:30pm on the Friday to say that he couldn't make it due to the long weekend. Unfortunately, my wife took the call and accepted it. When my wife told me, I rang the office to let them know what was happening and that they should send someone in his place. My contract is with Weed Man of Surrey - not the technician who failed to carry out his job! Was given more lame excuses (they really have no idea of what is going on!) and told that they would be round the next day - Saturday. Nobody turned up. After more phone calls and emails, I finally got my aeration done the following Thursday! But this is not the worst of the issues... The whole-year program that I had paid for followed exactly the 'script' of treatments due. Problem: Did anybody notice the long, hot spring/summer we have just encountered (2015)? No, well neither did Weed Man. They continued with their usual scheduling. Due to this, my lawn (although weed free) is the worst in the whole neighbourhood! Why? Because they continued to apply all the seeding and fertilizing schedules knowing that no water could be applied. Hence; Brown, burnt and severely damaged lawn. I am totally dissatisfied with the whole culture of Weed Man of Surrey. I do think that higher management (back in Ontario) have taken some steps to try to make things better - but they have a long, long, long way to go. I would actively encourage people not to use their services as they are ineffectual, inefficient and terrible value for money.Answer from pro:
I am sorry to hear about your concerns. Unfortunately I am unable to assist you as I am an Individual franchise located in Scarborough Ontario and I would suggest emailing your concerns and put it to the attention of that franchise owner or Manager.

In 2014 my husband contracted Weedman for two seperate properties. One day while we were both home weedman pulled up put a sign in our lawn and an invoice in our mailbox. My husband called right away and told them that we weren't paying for the service as the guy never even sprayed the lawn. We received a call back or a knock at the door with an apology that others had observed the same as us and that the worker had been fired. 2015 comes along we come home from work in the Spring and there's a Weedman sign on our lawn with a bill in the mailbox. We tried numerous times to contact them and were repediately told that we would need to speak to a manager but no manger was ever available. Both my husband and myself called. We also started to send emails indicating that we didn't want the service asking them to not come on either of our properties. Two weeks ago we received a notice from a Canadian Collection Agency that they have sent the outstanding amount to collections. Might I also add that the same day we received this collections notice in the mail we also recieved a contract from Weedman for the 2016 season. We have so many pieces of paper from a company that we never ever entered into a contract with. Bottom line is we have an appointment with a law firm to get out of this mess so that we can clear up any mess with the collections.Answer from pro:

Tried canceling after a few treatments and there is no record of us canceling, told we had to cancel with a manager. Now we are being asked to pay for 2 more services we never asked for. Tried to escalate but no one is taking this seriously. Our lawn looks worse then before we had their services. They won't transfer me to speak to a Manager either! Keep track of dates and names of people you speak with. I have never canceled a service where the service was never canceled and they keep coming back and charging you!!Answer from pro:
I am sorry to hear about your concerns and would suggest that you email the franchise directly about your concerns. Unfortunately you are in the London area and under a different franchise that I do not have an access to. I can assure you that they take your concerns very seriously and all inbound calls will be documented to ensure proper quality control for their customers.

We tried cancelling our continuous service contract with Weedman for the 2016 season. We have had nothing but problems with communication and technicians not calling before applications as per our request. Our grass looks like crap and they said we have grubs and we have dug up brown spots and found no evidence. After they agreed to cancel our last payment as a goodwill gesture for all the trouble, e-mails and phone calls we have had to make, they called this morning and are reversing the credit as they said we told them we were continuing with the service next year and that's why they give us the credit. Neither myself or my husband agreed to continue with Weed man next year. Talk about customer service. They should be bending over backwards to keep us as a customer not threatening to reinstate a bill.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Offered me service $250/year for front and back lawns, only serviced both lawns on first visit, they ignored the back lawn on subsequent visits. Called customer service who said we only had a contract for the front lawn!! Why would they have service the back lawn on the first visit then? "The system says you only have a contract for the font lawn" . Customer service must have a how to lye to customers training in place to justify bad services. Told me the price I have can't justify both lawns, meanwhile my paperwork said otherwise (had special offer as a "returning customer" since previous owner used their services). Their products are good when applied properly, but their service on site or over the phone is HORRIBLE.Answer from pro:
Please contact my office so I can investigate this concern and resolve this matter immediately. I am very surprised to hear of your concern this late in the season as we always price our customer for servicing their entire property and only adjust the pricing based on the customer needs or if there is no access to their backyard.
