    Tuckpointing

    Richard and the team at Wilkens did a great job from the quoting process right through the finished work. Richard was very honest and informative with his advice, and likely saved us thousands of dollars on work we didn't need to do. The crew did a great job matching the colour with the existing mortar, and the work (tuckpointing on 2 walls) was done within a day. We'll be calling them back next year to get some chimney work done. Highly recommend.

    Pillar brick repair

    Wilkens did a great job repairing the brickwork on our pillar and completing tuckpointing repair on some other cracks that had emerged in our house. Allan and Les were efficient, professional, and we were so happy with the work. The price we paid was exactly what was quoted with no extra add-ons.

    tuckpointing on brick work

    Very professional and efficient work! The crew arrived on time, actually a bit early which was great, and the work was impeccable. Showed me everything that was done and it looks brand new! It was a lot of work as there were areas all over the house on both storeys where mortar was missing. Highly recommend this company.

    Brick restoration

    Recently purchased a 100 year old home in east Toronto. One portion of the brick was crumbling and needed replacing. Jake came by promptly to discuss and give me a quote. The work was done quickly, professionally, and on budget. The repair looks great and is barely distinguishable from the old surrounding brick.

    Deeply knowledgeable in chimney & fireplaces

    I have an older Beach home with a wood burning fireplace that had stopped working properly. Our issues were more than cosmetic and it was hard to find anyone who could talk intelligently about what was happening, or why. We had numerous quotes from guys who wanted to simply rip out and replace what we had, but Wilkens were the only firm interested in helping us to find the issue. It turns out that our new windows and doors have made our house much more air tight, so the fireplace wasn't drawing air properly. Their solution included an air vent that they built into a newly poured hearth, and now the problem is solved. The work itself started and finished exactly as their estimate detailed, with no surprises. This was a big undertaking for us, and it wasn't something that we want to 'redo'. It was a good feeling to know that we hired the right guys the first time.

    limestone sills for new door and window

    Richard arrived for the assessment and quote. He doesn't rush you while you describe the issue. He has great observational and analytical skills. and carefully explained the options and his recommendations. He can explain anything you might want to know about sills! There was absolutely no over-selling whatsoever. Very comfortable and informative meeting. Jake arrived for the installation. Equally informed and knowledgable about the work. It was done efficneitnly and quickly. A wonderful product and a pleasurable experience. This is the epitome of customer service and the first time I've done a Homestead review! Kudos to Wilkins(and I'm not even related!!).

    pointing work

    Wilkens Contracting has the best, friendly, professional staff and workers. From the estimate to the pointing work, we are very happy and recommend Wilkens. The estimate was reasonable and the work is great.

    Top marks!

    My job included replacement of about 60 bricks with new mortar, replacement of the dome around my chimney, and tuck pointing everywhere necessary. The gentlemen from Wilkens were outstanding. They arrived and got straight to work. First confirming all of the work to be completed and the colour and style choices we had made earlier. They had to work around two other crews doing work at my property and even encountered a surprise squirrel's nest in my chimney. The relocated the furry creatures and completed all the work quickly and professionally. Honestly, they matched the brick and mortar so well I could not tell which bricks were replaced. I have no hesitation recommending Wilkens Contracting and will use them every time!

    Chimney repair

    Wilkens were knowledgeable, experienced, professional and flexible. They were able and willing to help us explore different possible solutions to our chimney challenge until we landed on the solution that felt right to all of us. Their work team of Frank and Michael were exceptional. We had to wait a bit to get the work done, but it was well worth the wait. Thank you
