We reviewed 3 pool quotes and settled on Lido as Josh had some interesting design concepts. They weren't the least expensive, however, we are willing to pay for a good product and warranty. Everything was on time as they started the install last fall (and were paid 80% of the pool contract), however, when they arrived in April to put the liner in, John found that it did not fit (and asked for another 10% which we trustingly paid). Josh indicated that there had been a mistake made at his end as he had overlooked that the drawing had somewhere indicated that there was to be an 11' foot stair and they had installed a 10' stair. John came and took the liner away on April 15 and here we are 2 months later on June 15 with no idea still as to when we will have the liner back and installed. My kids were looking forward to having a pool this summer. If you had asked us back in October if there was a risk that we would not have our pool by July 1 we would have laughed. Unfortunately for us its very much a reality. Josh has been very difficult to get communicate with. We requested that he come to meet with us and he emailed us that he was too busy. Every part of this project has had cost overruns or problems so far. I would not recommend them to others, extremely disappointed

Prior to buying our new house in Maple, my wife and I began our quest to look for a pool company who had a proven track record in the industry with a vast knowledge of equipment and construction designs. We met with more than a half a dozen pool companies and listened to their presentations, equipment choices, opinions regarding salt vs chorine, landscaping and pool designs. At the end of the day, we became more confused and further away from making a decision. It was through our landscaper that we were recommended to Josh Katz and Lido Pools. Josh met with us for several hours and walked us through various options for pool designs which accented our property, energy efficient heaters, pumps, salt generators. His knowledge of the pool industry exceeded our expectations. My wife and I felt comfortable with Josh’s product knowledge and his extensive portfolio of completed projects. Lido’s pricing were also within our budget projections. Once the paper work was completed for our permits, the construction began. John Zeijdel heads up the construction team at Lido. John and his wonderful crew worked very hard to have our pool ready before the winter. John’s knowledge of the pool industry proved to very advantageous, especially when a quick decision had to be made about the installation and operation of equipment. The final project was completed on time and with precise accuracy. Lido Pools provided quality service from the signing of the contract to the final pool completion. When looking for a company to install a pool at my house I called on several company's for a quote. Lido pools was reasonable price. Not having a pool growing up I did not know anything about maintaining a pool. Josh assured me that he would be there for any problem that would arise. When the crew starting to work the guys were very polite and good with the neighbours. The Job was completed on time. after the pool was open for a couple of weeks I screwed up on the epuipment, I call Josh and he sent someone over right away a fixed the problem. I highly recommend this company to any one who is interested in putting a pool in. They did everything they said they would and more. Isaac

We contacted Josh of Lido Pools in the spring of 2008 and found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful especially in the design of a backyard that had everything on our wish list - a beautiful roman shaped pool with water features, a cabana and pavillion for shade and a lower deck coming out of our existing upper deck. He has wonderful ideas and was very pleasant to work with. He also provided us with a long list of references and it appears that some of his customers have used him to build their pools each time they have moved so he has a lot of repeat and happy customers. He also has highly skilled and wonderful people he referred us to i.e. Russell for carpentry and Rick for interlocking as well as electrical and gas technicians. We did go over budget slightly but we were so very happy with the end result and everyone who comes into our backyard loves it. We know we will get many years of pleasure from our new pool and we highly recommend Josh and his workers to anyone who is looking to change their backyard from wasted space to a virtual relaxing and fun paradise. I had already an offer from one of the big pool companies but didn't feel comfortable with the many price variables and possible add ons left open in the contract. Good for us we found Josh and LIDO POOLS just before last winter set in. He made a great first impression, was very competent and helped us through the planning and design phase. The first pool to be built in spring was ours and the team with John and his boys was outstanding. Great work very reliable and high customer focus. John always called us back immidiately when we had questions around the pool. For me this is very important since i expect the pool company not only doing the installation but also helping me to keep the pool and the water in best condition throughout the season.

Josh at Lido competed with several other companies for our business and won with an EXCEPTIONAL design. His crew headed by John were always pleasant and knowlegeable. It was an easy decision for us to have Lido Pools build our swimming pool at our new home in an exclusive gated community in the middle of Emerald Hills Golf & Country Club. When I ran a successful swimming pool company in the 70's and 80's I was very familiar with the award winning designs and excellent quality swimming pools that Lido was installing. They continue to lead the industry with unique vinyl inground pools that no other builder is capable of delivering at a great price. The Lido pool construction team lead by John is fantastic. They kept our job site very clean and they are very reliable. The Lido team knew that the 2007 Winter was fast approaching and that our pool being in the Oak Ridges Moraine needed to be installed within one month from the date that we signed our contract to ensure that we would have use of our pool early in the season of 2008. Josh Katz assured me that would work and he delivered on-time. Josh is a fantastic designer as he is helping us transform our entire back-yard into a paradise. We listned to his great design ideas and he is extremely knowledgeable about all the latest advances in pool equipment. Josh introduced us to innovations in swimming pools and equipment that we didn't know was possible. As a result our inground vinyl pool looks like a concrete pool with spill over spa and illuminated dual water-falls. Josh and his team went beyond the call of duty to help us with our landscaping and (i.e. gas & electrical) utility needs. We are very satisfied with our Lido pool and the experience during installation. We are delighted to provide an excellent reference about Lido Pools. It is obvious after seeing other pools installed from the so called high-end pool builders the difference in quality and design. In our opinion Lido builds the best pool with the right equipment at the best price on the market.

Lido constructed our pool in September 2007, so we have just enjoyed our first summer of use. We love our pool, have had many compliments on it, and it is exactly what we wanted - custom shape, colour, size, depth, water feature, etc. Josh from Lido encouraged us to envision something unique, and since we are both designers, this was very encouraging. Plus, any special features we requested, did not seem over-priced, compared to other pool companies. In fact, we were quite surprised at how reasonable Josh was to negotiate with, and how eager he was to ensure it would be the pool of our "dreams". The actual pool construction was not without glitches or delays, however Josh (and his team headed by John) always comes through for you, and they are completely intent on making things right. You can tell alot about a contractor by how they handle a problem (even when they are not the cause of it, e.g. product delays), and Lido Pools is a contractor you can rely on - that integrity and committment creates a lasting relationship with their clients. Even when called the year after the project was completed, Josh was responsive and eager to keep us happy. If we ever move from this house, Josh and Lido will build our next pool, too - highly recommended!

I will make this simple and to the point. We negociated our pool installation March 2007 with Josh of Lido Pools for an install a.s.a.p. We had requested to be one of the first jobs of the season. Sure enough....by May 15th we were swimming in our stunning backyard. The quality of workmanship is second to none...but the price is a little better than the big boys you know of. In terms of knowledge...nobody knows more about pools than Josh of Lido pools...that's it..that's all! John and the boys in the crew do a great job...and maintain a clean site....very important to me. Everything went very smoothly from the get go. When there was an issue, it was dealt with immediately. In terms of design suggestions...Josh knows it all and has great vision for your back yard retreat. We are enjoying every minute of our pool season. Happy swimming from Richmond Hill!

A job that we are completely happy with!! We met with Josh in fall of 2005 to plan for our pool building in spring of 2006. Met with all the competition as well and decided to go with Josh because he came up with great suggestions. He's in the business so he knows what he is doing and will make your project his priority. He has tons of enthiusiasm and will find a way to create exactly what will make you happy. He created an absolute oasis in our backyard, which originally was dreary and we wouldn't use. The pool area has become our haven now - we love it!!! (looks like something out of anchitectural magazine) Josh gave us a gorgeous custom design and gave us great ideas on how to enhance everything without blowing the budget!! Building was supposed to be third week of April and actually started a whole week early - when does that happen with contractors!! They showed up everyday for about 10 days until the work was complete. John, head of the crew, was phenomenal. The work area was kept clean - they even carted away all the garbage. The guys were friendly and more than willing to help out with anything we needed. If you want a pool company that will go the extra mile and treat your project as if it were their own be sure to go with Lido - I can't say enough about them! I am truly convinced with any other company we would have just gotten a plain pool, with Lido we got a piece of paradise.
