    Rebuilding cold room

    My cold room was literally falling down and with Otto's help - we now have a functioning room again. Otto is wonderful - clear about what the problem is - clear about the options and solutions - clear about his pricing. Beyond the great workmanship and attention to detail - Otto worked with my carpenter who was rebuilding our front porch over the cold room. Otto managed to fit us into his busy schedule and for that I am grateful. I will be using Otto again in the future.

    Retaining wall, stone steps, and interlocking walkway

    Otto and his team were pleasant, professional, and easy to work with. They did an amazing job replacing the retaining wall in our front yard, as well as putting in new stone steps and an interlocking walkway to the front door. Crew lead Dan was also great. When we had questions or concerns Otto and his team were quick to get back to us, and took the time to explain things clearly. The project was completed within the agreed upon time-line, and it was well worth the money. Otto had previously done some smaller jobs for us (replacing stone windowsills, parging, and tuckpointing) so we knew he was reliable and professional, and would do a great job on this bigger project. We highly recommend Otto's Masonry!

    replace broken concrete steps

    We are very pleased with the job Otto's company did replacing our broken concrete steps with new ones. We had a problem getting anyone to quote on this relatively small job but Otto gave us a reasonable price and timeframe to complete the job. His crew were efficient and very neat. I would highly recommend this company.

    Repointing of Brick around the house

    Otto and his team were complete professionals. They jumped right into doing the job even before we were aware they were ready. We thought we would have to wait weeks before the work could be done but got a call that they were staring at 7am that morning. They were there consistently until the job was done and even did some extra work we weren't expecting. The entire staff was friendly and very professional. I highly recommend if you have brick/repointing work, to use this company. So refreshing, given we didn't know them and saw their van parked in our neighbourhood. We did that with a roofer one other time but had a bad experience. Plus, the total bills was exactly what they quoted. No added expenses. Thanks so much Otto!!!

    New chimney cap and tuck pointing

    Otto's team are great! Over the spring I noticed a small leak that looked like it was coming from my chimney or flat roof. Originally I called a roofer and they suggested I replace my roof, but after seeing pictures of my crumbling chimney I decided to fix this issue first. Otto's masons showed up promptly, provided me with a very competitive quote which also included tuck pointing my porch pillars. Their schedule was quite busy, but since the job was small they squeezed me in and were able to do the job the following week. As I suspected the leak was from the chimney - very pleased I did not have to invest in a new roof! I will definitely use Otto again.

    Small but complex project - excellent work

    I have a 3 story house downtown with an 8 foot square patch of bricks near the top that were needing minor tuck work. I asked for several quotes, but it is a small job and few people were returning my calls. Otto's was the most experienced and gave me a very reasonable price. The workman was very pleasant, worked very quickly and efficiently using a high ladder. I am very pleased!

    Brick replacement & Tuckpointing

    Our hot & cold water pipes in the basement laundryroom were freezing even after new insulation and drywall was put in. We eventually narrowed down the cause to a few holes and missing bricks in the outer wall in the vicinity of the pipes - a highly unusual situation. Anyway, after checking Homestars we discovered and hired Otto's Masonry. We were exceedingly pleased with their professional attitude and the work provided. Otto explained the importance of doing repairs when the weather was appropriate to ensure lasting quality and provided a fair quote. At the time of repairs, once hearing of the pipe situation, some insulation was added (after obtaining our permission) to help fill in the gap between the outer bricks and inner wall. The outer wall was well checked and prepared, the replacement bricks matched perfectly and cracks fixed., Since then (Feb 2010) we have had no more freezing pipes. I think it was Tony who did the actual repair work after Otto provided the quote, but do correct me if my memory for names is off :-) Paula - Photo ref #5138

    Escavate basement waterproof walls with delta wrap and weeping tile and pour new floor

    I am a designer and builder of fine homes in Toronto and when it came time to dig my own basement down i wanted someone with more experience than I had, to deal with this daunting task. Otto came recommend from a reliable source,so I asked for a quote. The price was very reasonable for the level of work required. His team was exceptional and they worked well with my guys as we were putting down plumbing and radiant heat tubing. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Really well done, I would definitely use them again, and recommend them to my clients. Thanks Otto.

    Window Sill Repair

    From quote to finished product, Otto's was a total pleasure to deal with. We required some parging work on a window well in order to repair some crumbling concrete. The work was done with exceptional skill and attention to detail. I have recommended Otto to friends and family and will stick with them for any future masonry work we may need.

    brick work

    We had Otto and his team replace some bricks on our house and they did a great job. There was one brick put in that didn't match the others and I brought this to Otto's attention. He totally agreed and he got the brick replaced with one that was a better match. We've had chimney work done by Otto in the past as well and the work was great. He is so good about really listening to his clients and if I ever had a concern or wasn't totally happy with something he always had it fixed to my liking. He also makes sure that the job is done properly and never expects payment until it is completely finished to the customer's satisfaction. I would strongly recommend him.
