After waking up to the sound of my 4 year old daughter Rebecca screaming on a very mild/rainy February 7/09, I ran to her room to find water pouring on to her bed and nightstand. My husband and I immediately retrieved all the pots and buckets we could find in an effort to try to contain the water. I couldn't believe it when part of the ceiling suddenly fell down along with the insultion and nearly hit my husband. At that point, I knew we had a serious problem. I told him I was going to call someone for help. I swear I called 50 roofing companie; but not one picked up or returned my call. I tried the emergency number of "The Roofman", which I found in the phone book, and was relieved when someone picked up. I was greeted in a professional manner and in no less than 30 minutes, we saw The Roofman truck pull up to our home. We were told the reason for the damage was due to ice damming caused by poor ventilation and a poorly installed roof. The Roofman quickly cleared what seemed like a foot of ice from our roof and in no time, the water stopped pouring in. Subsequently, a detailed assessment was completed and within 2 days The Roofman came back and rectified the problems.
