DO NOT BUY AN UPSCALE HOME BY SHANE HOMES (like the ones Shane homes is promoting in Aspen)! This is our advice to anyone contemplating the idea of hiring Shane homes. Let this review serve as a warning to not make the same mistake we regrettably did. If we could go back in time, we wouldve never built a home with shane homes. Weve been plagued with numerous issues from plumbing disasters to electrical mistakes and much, much more. The problems have been painful and unending for us. We believe that Shane homes has no business building upscale homes and marketing to unsuspecting buyers who are not aware that Shane homes is a tract home builder posing as a high-end custom home builder. We know that our nightmare experience with shane homes is not unique, as weve spoken to others whove also had a terrible experience with Shane homes. Weve been told by industry professionals that the bulk of Shane homes products over the years has been cheaply built, mass production, cookie cutter homes. It appears that Shane homes has ventured into a higher-end market to probably capitalize on the higher margins. The problem is Shane homes uses the same business model on these so-called upscale homes that it uses for its cheap, mass production homes. This equates to the same cheap, low-grade labour, the same cheap low-grade materials, the same cheap, low-grade subcontractors, except shane homes will charge you a premium for all this inferior service and material just because youre building a larger, higher-end home compared to the other hundred+ tract homes the company builds in the same year. We truly regret not hiring a true custom home builder instead of this builder that is too busy building hundreds of other homes to provide dedicated quality of service. You will save yourself from a great deal of stress, agony and frustration if you dont hire this builder. Using shane homes has been one of our biggest regrets.

Our experience with Shane Homes was very positive. We looked at many homebuilders in many communities, but found that Shane Homes was consistently offering a better product and a better customer experience. We felt involved in the building process and got to personalize our home further than we expected. We also noticed that Shane Homes has built communities that feel like communities in the past, and wanted this for our future - not just homes built quickly and nothing more, but ammentities and development that make the community a great place to live.

Decent quality builder can be a bit more transparent upfront at the sales centre with prices, catch 22 like all other builders when you get to the design centre Overall happy better than many other builders

If you are in search of a house, I would strongly advise working with Shane Homes. The area manager, Brooke, at vermillion hill made everything easy for us and was very professional, efficient and made the process of purchasing a house with Shane very pleasant and without stress . I couldn't recommend Shane Homes more for an experience that will not disappoint!.

I moved into a rental basement suite beginning April this year and have had major issues with build quality. The good: - Outside insulation is good. Construction has been going on all year and I can't hear it at all The bad: - Paint is already flaking off around the back door and the windows - Screw plugs in the drywall are falling out - Cabinets were not installed properly; already had someone come by once to fix it and have another appointment at the end of the month - Locks installed upside down - Walk in closet door swings in rather than out essentially halving the space available inside - When talking with the Shaw installer he also mentioned how poorly cables were run both inside and out - No communication with contractors; I was unable to get in or out of my suite multiple times due to ongoing construction such as pouring the back pad and not having stairs up to the door. I have also twisted my ankle numerous times because even after 6 months there is no path from front to back; every time it rains it's a mud pit and nothing has been put down to allow passage. I've found myself either slipping or stuck in mud every time The ugly: I mentioned how well sealed it is against outside noise which is both a blessing and a curse. Although I can't hear any noise from upstairs the entire space in the basement is sealed so well it's like a drum. All of the footsteps from upstairs reverberate so much I can feel them in my ears - think cruising down a highway and rolling up or down your windows and feeling that pressure in your eardrums. Sometimes they're loud enough to feel in my chest. All in all from now on I will be avoiding anything built by Shane homes

Shane homes made it seamless and delivered as promised. The area manager Jeff and Anand are always accessible, responsive and ready to help. They introduced the Virtuo app a one stop concierge service to help set up all essential services like waste management, hydro and gas. This service is unique and made everything easy. I will recommend Shane homes and the Virtuo App to all.

I chose to build with Shane Homes and would not recommend them to a single soul and will not touch them with a ten-foot pole again. They are all talk and no follow through. Should have asked more questions and will ask future companies examples of unhappy customers and what was done to compensate when a company claims to be built on integrity and honesty. Overpromise and underdeliver all the way along with a huge lack integrity and dishonesty....they take no responsibility or ownership over it. Kept trying to get out of taking any ownership over their lack of communication and honesty by saying well your home as increased in value...clearly that registers with some clients but that means absolutely nothing unless you are in the buying or selling market which I am clearly not as I just built this home. Have spoke to people I work with about the experience and a few built with Shane homes 15 years ago and they said it sounds like an identical process of what they experienced so nothing new or that they can blame on COVID even though that's all they do. Counting down the days until Shane Homes is out of my life.

We had a great experience at Shane Homes. Would buy from again. The home is very nice and what we wanted. The price was good and we could customize. Thank you Glenn.

We bought 2 brand new houses from shane homes and first home took position end of dec 2020. The house was not probably landscaped in december because of snow season. In March we asked them to fill the soil/Dirt properly as all rain water going inside the home walls they replied by saying that its owners duty. Bought two houses recently worth 1.2 million and this is the costumer services they have. We don’t recommend you to buy house from this builder as there ate many other good builders in NE communities. All our neighborhood are having homes from other builders and get good after sale services with in first 3 months

I made a big mistake to choose SHANE HOMES to build my house ,if u r looking for a great experience and a quality product, our recommendation and experience is that u don't buy a Shane home. They made promises they didn't Keep and disappear. I will not recommend anyone
