We asked Chris to inspect our chimney, clean and prepare for winter. He was no-nonsense and professional. His workmanship was excellent and he was on time and on budget. We will use him again to repair the chimney in the near future when it will be needed.

I can recommend Metro Chimney without reservation. Following a very thorough cleaning and inspection of our chimney, Chris pointed out a few things that should be done to make our (70 year old) fireplace a bit safer. Then he took the time to explain how we could even do the work ourselves if we were so inclined. Additionally, he responded quickly to a follow-up question I had the next day. We received friendly, professional service and advice- I really can't say enough!

Chris Bowes arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. Gave me a very honest assessment of what needed to be done to repair my chimney. I never felt pressured to do the work and in fact Chris suggested a few things that i could do myself to alleviate some of the problems. All in all very happy that i Contacted Metro Chimney.

We bought a home one year ago with a very large chimney that needed to be rebuilt and cleaned (three flues). We had three quotes and Chris' was on the lower end of the three PLUS we had a glowing review from another contractor who I was very happy with in the past. Chris was punctual, professional, and explained everything he was going to do. This was a huge job and Chris and his team worked hard to complete the rebuild by the end of the week. The brick was a perfect match to the rest of the house and capped everything off. He returned the next week to clean and inspect and then spent a good hour explaining everything to me. Chris and his employee were professional and clean. They were knowledgeable and last summer Installed a damper and replace walls inside my fireplace. I wanted to test it out over the winter before writing a review. During the ice-storm this winter the fireplace was put to the test it worked fantastically well. I have recommended them to friends in family when they mention they need some fireplace work.

Chris was extremely professional. Notification call about 10 minutes before he arrived. Arrived within the window that had been previously determined. Work was done promptly and thoroughly. Could not ask for better service. Would highly recommend.

Anyone looking for a good chimney sweep or brick mason can’t go wrong with Metro Chimney and Chris Bowes. Chris does excellent work, is pleasant to deal with and doesn’t overcharge. I have used Chris on several occasions starting with a chimney sweep in June. The chimney hadn’t been cleaned by our home’s previous owners in years so there was plenty of debris that had accumulated. Chris gave me a rough estimate over the phone, arrived on schedule, inspected the chimney and charged me less than the original phone estimate. He left the house as clean as when he arrived and my wife and I had a working and safe fireplace. Chris has been back since to re-point the top of the chimney and put on a new cap. He has also replaced door ledges and lintels that had not been done correctly by previous owners and has repaired some brick masonry that had deteriorated over the years. Every job turned out great. Like I said, you can’t go wrong with Metro. Chris: thank you for the great work. We have a few new projects in mind, so we will probably see you again soon.
