After having two companies tell me I needed a new liner in my chimney to prevent smoke backing up into my basement (cost $3000+), I called Metro Chimney. Chris did troubleshooting and came up with a simple, thoughtful solution for $300 which included inspection and cleaning. Fantastic! And what a pleasant person too!

Chris went out of his way to deliver exceptional service - and returned to our home twice to deal with a single fireplace (and refused to accept additional compensation for the extra troubles). Both professionals were courteous, friendly, polite and informative, took extra steps to ensure the cleanliness of the area they worked in and even raised issues they identified on the outside of our home when up on the roof (and provided photos). Chris and Ryan came first and cleaned 2 of our chimneys. He offers to just charge for one if the other is clean so you are only committing to a minimum fee. One of our chimneys had a ton of dead birds (which he did not charge extra for) so he recommended putting on a cap. He came back a few weeks later and did that. He explains everything in great detail as he goes. One of the best service providers and communicators I have ever met. I run my own business and I only hope I am as amazing with my clients as he is.

We have a wood burning fireplace from the 1970s. I called Metro Chimney to have the fireplace inspected and cleaned. From the very beginning to the end I was very pleased with this company. The phone was answered promptly (answered by Chris), and time was arranged quickly. Chris & Ryan came exactly on time, and went what I felt was above and beyond to explain fireplace maintenance to me and answer all my questions. I felt he dealt with me honestly and didn't recommend any unnecessary fixes. Chris is very knowledgeable about his product, and also builds traditional fireplaces from scratch. If I could give 12 stars I would, but for now it's 10/10! I highly recommend you call Metro Chimney!
I have never had use for a chimney sweep until now and I found Mtro Chimney on homestars and Chris was terrific. He was very professional and friendly and took the time to give me a thorough explanation of my chimney situation. He well deserves a 10 rating and he'll be the only chimney sweep I'll ever use.
