Fred and his son did an amazing job in replacing my existing wood railings that were rotting. The quality of the work and the materials used were top notch. I found Fred & his company thru online research, referral from another provider, AND prior reviews on Homestars. My choice (and the prior reviews) were more than justified. Fred did an excellent job from end to end ... scheduling, material selection, and agreement on pricing (very reasonable, BTW) all went very efficiently; the installation was beautifully and expertly done, and the cleanup afterward was meticulous. I would not hesitate to recommend Fred and Discount Aluminum Railings for any job along these lines.

We are extremely happy with our new railings. Our front step railings were rusted and barely hanging on. Fred & his son did an amazing job. They are extremely professional, personable, and the price was unbeatable. After they were done removing the old railings and installing the new ones, the cleanup was exceptional. After the interlock people finished the steps to the entrance of my house, they never bother to put back the railings. It was only a couple of years after, when an home inspector pointed out that, according to city bylaws, railings were required. So after a bit of a search I came across with DAR (Discount Aluminum Railings). From the first moment to the last I only dealt with Fred (owner). He was very attentive to my requests and offered the best possible options. The estimate he gave me was within my budget so we proceeded. After two weeks, he came back and finished the job by himself in 2 hours. Even though the steps are made of interlock stones, he was able to secure the post and the railings so the whole thing felt very secure. He is very attentive to details and almost a perfectionist. I would definitely recommend Fred. Not only because of cost but also because of his quality of work. You don't find this kind of responsible, knowledgeable and committed contractors everyday.
