The Canadian Appliance Source will not honor their extended warranty!
After buying all of our appliances from them for our new home, along with the extended warranty, our dishwasher breaks-down. CAS sends us the warranty details and we initiate the claims process with WGI Service Plan/iA Financial Group. A month later, the repairman doesn't attend our scheduled service date and advises they've just ordered a part (not knowing the issue or seeing the dishwasher). 5 weeks after that and we have to follow-up with the warranty company because nobody's telling us what's happening. Finally someone comes out and "fixes" it but it still doesn't work. The warranty company advises us that we have to submit another claim. We just want our dishwasher to work. We file another claim and were told we'd receive a call back in 1-2 days from Whirlpool. The call never came. We contacted them again and they submitted another call-back from Whirlpool, and the call still never came. We then spoke to Whirlpool Customer Care department and they only took notes then advised they can't help us. The management team at Canadians Appliance Source advises "unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this situation, sorry."
4 months, WITHOUT a dishwasher, and no call-back, no answers, no repairman, no parts and kept in the dark on the status of our claim. The warranty company won't provide us answers, nor a repair in a timely manner, nor a new dishwasher and CAS won't help in any way.
An honorable retailer who sells a warranty product with good faith, should step in to support their customer when they need to. Yet, they won't but will keep pushing an extended warranty knowing that won't even be honored.
