    Home security system for condo

    When we moved into our new condo the building had just been completed and we were the only residents on our floor. I came to realize that I could not hear when someone was at my front door if I was in the master bed or bath. This was unnerving to say the least as I work at home and many people were coming and going, trades, realtors, tours, etc. I strayed researching home security on Victoria BC and wound up finding Prices Alarms online. The sales rep came out and spent a great deal of time explaining the types of alarm systems available, security cameras and monitoring. I immediately felt I was on the right track and had them return to install 3 cameras and alarm system. I have had the system for 5 years and it has put my mind at ease. I love that when I am working at the far end of the condo I don't have to worry about someone coming in the front door without me knowing and I love that I can peek into my home while on vacation and make sure all is well. A small price to pay for peace of mind. Even when I trigger the alarm by accident I get a courtesy call reminding me they are always keeping my home and my family safe. I wholeheartedly recommend Prices to anyone who needs more security in their life.

    Security System and App

    Price's Alarns was fantastic from the sales person to the installer to the system and the training on how to use the system. Price's Alarms is the only company I've used for many years and they continue to impress me. Calling in and taking to the guys in the station when the alarm goes off or having them call me is very professional. Talking to people right here in town too - it makes a difference. What I love the most is my new security app that allows me to control my system and get text messages while I'm away. Love love love it! Thanks Price's Alarms

    Alarm Services

    Buyer Beware! We got trapped into Price's Three Year Contract and it cost us $1052.97. In 2014, we made the BIG mistake of signing a three-year contract for Price's Alarm when we lived in Victoria. We recently moved to Vancouver (August 2015) and wanted to cancel Price's and use a local Vancouver security company which better suited our needs. The new company has superior service which includes wireless video cameras with remote video monitoring integrated with the Alarm.com system. Price's does not offer that functionality. We are very unhappy about Price's policies which did not allow us to cancel the contract, give the equipment back and pay out a reasonable amount. We could not even transfer the alarm to the new tenants. We feel that Price's policy is unfair and bad business practice. They were rigid and inflexible when it came time to move and this ended our relationship on a very bad note. We paid out the remaining contract of $1,052.97 and have cancelled our service. We have no need for the equipment, or Price's monitoring and so all of that money is just down the drain. We would NOT recommend Price's to anyone for this reason. Aug.20th update: Price's reply is unsatisfactory and their claim about offering video is both incorrect and misleading. Their "wireless video cameras along with Alarm.com" can only be seen by the client -- not by the monitoring station. The new system from a local Vancouver company gives us LIVE video monitoring which can be sent direct to the police as evidence of a break-in. Price's was totally inflexible in coming up with a reasonable solution due to our move. We cannot recommend Price's.

We work hard to maintain a professional level of customer service and regret we did not meet your expectations. Unlike other companies, we are flexible in offering security systems at many different terms. We are just as willing to install an alarm system with a 3 year term as we are with a month-to-month agreement. It would appear you chose the longest service term available in order to take full advantage of the greatest incentive offered, which resulted in a less amount to be paid towards the installation costs. We try to be as clear as possible regarding any commitment on our service agreements, and encourage you to carefully consider this before signing any service term commitment with any company. Situations change and people move all the time. As discussed with you previously, we have a move program and would’ve been happy to provide you the security services you were seeking at your new Vancouver residence. (We were taken aback by the comment we don’t offer wireless video cameras along with Alarm.com as this is simply untrue. We’ve had this available to our customers for several years.) Our Vancouver office has knowledgeable staff, and technically certified and experienced technicians. With our head office located in Victoria, we regret that you felt we weren’t “local” enough to serve you in Vancouver. As for your agreement, after discussing the option for the new occupants to take over service at this location, you chose to have the system removed instead of pursue that avenue. Unfortunately, we are unable to make use of your equipment - we don’t sell “used” equipment to clients. We thank you for your business and wish you well.

    Alarm Services

    Our family uses Price's Alarm for our alarm monitoring and maintenance. They were great with the set up and I've had no problems with their monitoring service. Very friendly and reasonable rates. Thanks.

    Alarm System Reboot

    Quick and easy service. They just had to reactivate my alarm system. Next thing I know, they install an all-new alarm covered under the price. Definitely suggest to fellow mates.

    Alarm services

    We just came back from a vacation. Prices Alarms back up battery released gasses and unfortunately that is where our three month baby slept. Soon our entire house smelled and we found an over heated batter spewing out gases. We all had soar throats. We had to leave our house. After phoning Prices they had no idea what gasses were coming out but they said it was happening more often as the batteries they were getting were from China. After several attempts they would not reply to our calls. The fire department called and explained that it was a huge fire hazard and needed to be fixed right away. Prices did not show up or call after the fire department. Today I called the operation manager and he said they had no intention of reimbursing us for our troubles with their system. So in the end our family was in danger of a fire, and they admitted it is happening more often. Our family was in danger from the fumes. They did not think it was important to check up on this even after the fire department was involved. They had no concern for our 3 month baby, or our family. We are getting together the fire department record and have a list of our actions and are making a report which if any of you want to see please just ask. I ask you mention this to people you know that have Prices service that is a danger to your family and they will take NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. Please put this on your twitter and face book page to make sure your place is safe.

    Alarm Installation

    Very professional and reasonably priced. Price did a great job with the alarm installation and did so very efficiently. There is no doubt that I would highly recommend there services to all my friends and family. Thank you for such a positive experience!

    Own for two houses and workplace, PERFECT!

    You get what you pay for, in this case, $350 for a full alarm system in my workplace. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for security. Prices and functionality are great even after 5 years!

    Alarm Installation

    I compared estimates from 5 different alarm installation companies in Courtenay and found Price's to be the most affordable. I decided to give it a try and they proved themselves worthy of my money. They came quickly and installed the alarms so I could protect my house and my valuables. They also referred me to useful home security companies to call the police on my behalf. Price's is definitely a good choice for those who want quality service for a low price!
