THEY DESTROYED MY KITCHEN! I meet with Taylor from Wetaskiwin student works painters in April to get a quote to paint my kitchen cupboards. I agreed on the quote, I paid for the paint and I gave her a deposit. She said it would take one day and they would do the job in May. I contacted her at the end of May and she set a date for June to come, I offered to tsp the cupboards prior to them coming and she told me not to as they would be sanded and prepped. Taylor arrived with her painter who started setting up for the day and then she left. This girl I later learned was fired at the end of the day because of the horrible job she did. She did not sand, fill holes or do the prep that was promised, she painted against the grain of the wood and you could see the wood through the paint and there was paint drip marks on the face of the cabinets. As well she painted one side of the cupboards and flipped them onto plastic when they were still wet and they stuck to the plastic. She got paint on my floor, stove and walls. Taylor arrived at the end of they day to check on the job and was appalled at the job, she told me they would fix it. She brought another girl in a week later, she cleaned my floor and stove and walls (luckily I still had some paint for my walls) she then started to sand down the edges of the cupboards where the paint stuck to the plastic. Then they took my cupboards home to paint them as they could leave enough drying time in between coats. The painter brought them back a week later, they did look better, however the wood was still bleeding through and the paint was not adhering as they had not been prepped properly. This was 2 and 1/2 weeks after the first coat of paint went on. Taylor came 5 days later and was again very apologetic and promised me they would fix it. She took one of my cupboards to show her district manager Kieko and her paint rep, she came back a couple of days later with my cupboard. They told her they would have to be stripped, primed and painted to fix them and it would cost her $2000 and she could not afford to do that so SHE WAS WALKING AWAY FROM THE PROJECT! This is what her district manager Keiko advised her to do. I asked her if I would get my deposit back and she said she would ask. I spoke to Keiko and she told me I should not have painted my cupboards, I should replace my whole kitchen and they won't help fix it. Also that there was no one above her I could talk to. I am devastated that my kitchen is ruined and am still not sure what I am going to do. Please pass this onto your friends and family to stay away from student work painters, this company has no ethics and if they destroy your home they just say oops and walk away!
