We called The Home Improvement People to renovate our basement laundry room. We live in an old Victorian home with a challenging basement layout, to say the least (exceptionally narrow staircase leading down to the basement and very low ceilings). Our laundry room was anything but functional until Trevor, Chris and the rest of the crew got to work. They were pleasant to deal with, always happy to listen to our concerns, and made the extra effort to get it done in a timely manner. Phillip and Elia were very helpful in getting the most out of our basement at the consultation phase. Our basement is proof that they can handle even the most awkward and challenging renovation requests. We are incredibly pleased with the work done and would highly recommend them.

We couldn't be more thrilled with our new back deck! From start to finish - the crew from Home Improvement People offered a high-quality customer experience. Eli and Steve offered excellent and inspired design solutions and the result is both a sturdy and good-looking deck. The crew were also really professional and friendly - and efficient! We love our new outdoor space and can't wait for nice weather to get out there and enjoy it. PS - This is the second time we've worked with HIP and wouldn't hesitate to call them first, again!

Gerhard, Charlotte, Nadia, John and Cornel just left our home. They were extremely professional, pleasant and highly skilled. We are still in awe of the finished products. Took all precautions related to Covid-19 so that we felt safe and comfortable. They included us in all decision making and used their expertise to assist us. The contractors always cleaned their work area at the end of each day. We are thrilled with the outcome and would highly recommend The Home Improvement Company.

Our planned kitchen renovation was a large project and more than 13 years overdue. We contacted several kitchen companies for quotes. Most of the other companies would not provide a one-stop-shop service and required us to deal with multiple contractors to complete our planned renovation which included a new kitchen, laundry room and new flooring in the living room, dining room and main foyer. Enter the Home Improvement People. They were a pleasure to work with over the past five months. From the initial estimate by Phillip, they showed themselves to be thoughtful, responsive and took our needs into consideration. Charlotte did a great job leading the design work and constantly thought of new ideas and helped us avoid pitfalls. Larry was an excellent project manager. He and his crew were on time, courteous, straightforward and considerate in all that they did and expertly naviagted several obstacles involved with the removal of existing walls in order to ensure that we had a fully open-concept space in the final product. Our new living room, dining room and kitchen now look great and we are grateful for the excellent work by the Home Improvement People. We would recommend them highly for any home renovation.

This is a long-overdue review. Our project was completed at the end of October 2020 but unfortunately, I got sick and was not able to write a review at completion time. So here we are. My wife & I wanted to redo our master bathroom, our powder room & our laundry room. Our home was built in 1988 and we are the 3rd owners. Over the years we have renovated areas but we were saving up to do these 3 areas. In our master bathroom, I always wanted to install a sauna & that was part of our dream bathroom. In June of 2020, I called in 5 different contractors to provide quotes for the work. The last company we called was The Home Improvement People. We met with Elia, who is very personable and I liked him almost immediately. While the quote Elia provided to me was not the most expensive, it was also not the cheapest. What I also liked about their company was that they included the services of a designer/decorator, Charlotte, which saved us a lot of running around and time. We reviewed our drawings and ideas with Charlotte and after several meetings with Charlotte, we finally had our concept in a rendering complete with pricing, which fit into our budget. I would also like to say that Elia allowed us the opportunity to work with Charlotte before we made any commitment in order to see if our concept would fit into our budget. Elia arranged for a dedicated crew of 3 to 4 people to work on our project. The head of the crew was Nadia. I can't speak highly enough of Nadia and her crew. Nadia is very skilled professional and this included her crew. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable but before anything was started, she went over it with me, checked to make sure I was happy with placements, angles, how the tiles would be put down, how the cedar planking for the sauna would be installed etc. Nothing was done until she was absolutely sure I was happy & it was exactly how I wanted it. The end result speaks for itself in all 3 areas of work. At the end of each work day, Nadia would discuss with me what would be done the following day and approximately what time they would show up for work. While there were a few hiccups, the job was completed more or less within the time frame I had in mind. The best part about the overall renovation was that at the end of each day, without even asking, Nadia cleaned up any mess that was made and made sure we did not have to deal with this. At the start of each day, runners were put down to keep dust and dirt to a minimum and plastic sheeting was put up to seal off areas that dust could spread. Our powder room consisted of a pedestal sink, a mirror and a toilet. We gutted the whole thing and changed the flooring, added a backsplash and a new sink and vanity complete with new mirror and light fixtures. Stunning. Our laundry room was completely unworkable. We had a laundry tub in the wrong location. The washing machine was next to the tub & the dryer was on a completely different wall preventing us from using our back garage door to access the garage. The new look relocated the tub (including a dog wash) to the front of the laundry room, allowing us to move the washer & dryer side by side. We replaced all the vanities, added a backsplash, new lighting fixture & a corner cabinet for more shelf space and we can now go in and out of our garage door without any restriction. I can't say enough about the job done. From Elia who made sure that we had a great crew, to Charlotte who helped with the design, choosing of materials and colours and ordering the same, to Nadia and crew who did an unbelievable job with the reno and making us happy and to Gerhardt for overseeing everything, we were extremely pleased with the outcome. I would not hesitate to use The Home Improvement People in the future as we still have 2 more bathrooms and a hallway to reno. From project inception to the finishing touches, the Home Improvement People were a pleasure to work with. Just from meeting Elia, we were greeted with knowledge, warmth and professionalism that immediately made us feel like we were in good hands. The project was executed on time, and went off without a hitch. Both Christian and Carlos were friendly, responsive, and very helpful with decision making. They made our vision come to life, addressed any concerns that we had, and ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We would highly recommend the Home Improvement People for any project and can't wait to have them renovate our kitchen.

Thanks to the Home Improvement People, we turned a 2 level house into a 3 level. Our 6 foot ceiling basement was useless as a living space. We are in a semi-detached and we dug down 2 feet, created an entertainment room, proper laundry and utility rooms and a bathroom with shower. We didn't think we could get this out of the relatively small space we had to work with. Everyone that worked on our basement was friendly, knowledgeable and considerate of our needs but also the needs of our neighbors. There was good open communication at every phase of the project and, even though it was a high ticket renovations, we feel we got great value for the money we spent. They even helped us out with a few minor things we needed while they were here. A big thanks to our site manager Trevor, Eli, Chris, Christian and everyone else that worked on our home.

It's good to see them here. Actually when I hired them I found them on google and it was a pleasant experience with them. Great job within our budget. Thanks Home Improvement People Inc!

Jerry did our estimate and our complete reno on his own for our main bath which is used by our two kids. We are very happy with the service and work quality. We paid for labour and purchased all the supplies. Contrary to past reno experiences, although this required more coordination on our part, we found this worked better than our past experiences where we left this up to our contractors. Jerry accurately estimated his start and duration time, reliably responded quickly to questions via text throughout the enitre process and we were able to utilize a contractor discount at Olympia Tiles in Toronto. The entire job took 10 days, start and end times were reliable during regular business hours. Check out our before and after pics. We definitely would not hesitate to recommend. In fact, we have a number of friends who have asked for the referral. Great job Jerry!! The only thing we are waiting on from another company is the shower glass wall and door.

So happy with how my main floor and kitchen renovation turned out. It was a long 2 months, but it was totally worth it in the end. And Home Improvement People, especially Carlos and Christian were absolutely amazing the whole way through. We had got something like 10-12 quotes from different general contractors, and ended up with HIP because of their professionalism, good reviews, detailed quotes, and friendly employees. They were not the cheapest, but also not the priciest. You definitely get what you pay for. All the trades that came through, plumber, tiler, floor installer, electrician, etc, were incredibly friendly and professional and made the work look easy. Elia took care of all the coordination of who came when, permits, and when there were delays (likely due to covid), it was always communicated to us. In the time that HIP was working on the house, they almost always cleaned up, took out the garbage, and let us know timelines as what trade was coming when. They were very careful putting down floor protection, making sure nothing got damaged when moving heavy appliances and equipment around. We could tell the service was night and day when another contractor that we didn't hire through HIP came in for the cabinet install, and they managed to majorly scratch up our new floors in one day. Just goes to show how much care and attention Carlos and Christian and the rest of the trades put into being careful, and any small dings and dents they did make were promptly patched up. During any major renovation you're bound to run into unexpected issues, but I always felt like I was in good hands. I would highly recommend Home Improvement People for their services, and I'm very happy with how everything turned out.
