This past week I spent 5 days in the company of 2 skilled and dedicated craftsmen while our 1960's-era washroom was transformed from a slum to a showpiece by Nicolai and his assistant, Daniel. Their work ethic and detailed attention to quality was unsurpassed. The result is that I would insist in the future that if we again employ The Home Improvement People that Nicolai should again manage the project. A pleasant surprise was that we were able to take advantage of the HIP contractor's discount helping to keep our renovation budget under control. THANKS AGAIN

We've been in our little 100 year old East York house for a few years now and have been chipping away at the big projects that we need to make it our own. After the HUGE success with our bathroom renovation, we knew just who to turn to for our kitchen. Again, Caio and his team really came together to make our kitchen renovation stress-free and smooth. Charlotte's advice and patience in the designing phase, (we knew what we wanted, and she worked really hard to make sure we got it!) and Caio's recommendations for materials and technical details got us the room we wanted and needed. As well, the trades people that came in were all respectful of our space and so easy to be around. We stayed right on schedule (except for a few pesky custom doors that were slightly delayed) and on budget and, in the end, had a beautiful, fully functioning kitchen. We have recommended The Home Improvement People to friends who have also had wonderful experiences, and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Caio and his crew along with the trades did a great job in a timely fashion. Work was done at the quoted price with no surprise extras. Demolition materials were disposed efficiently. I lived in during this project and they did their best to reduce the stress that comes with that.

First time, we used the Home Improvement People was in 2014 for a basement renovation including bathroom. Admittedly we were apprehensive as we hadn’t undertaken a project of this size. Elia and Rob were always able to answer a question or offer trusted advice. Even helped with neigbour relations. As a result, we got a terrific basement. We enjoyed the experience that we knew when we moved to our new older home in 2015, that this was the team we trusted for a main floor, kitchen, bathroom and basement renovation. This was a lengthy process but the results are fantastic. Elia understood our vision and with the help of our reunited team, Rob, Fabiano and others made it happen. And the third time was the summer of 2016 to upgrade the electrical on the upper floor which is no easy task in an old house and on a time line. Once again, our team did it. Great cost-effective ideas. Ozzi and Rob worked together to get the electrical upgrades complete and then Rob and team put it all back together again. Excellent work from the beginning to the end.

We had The Home Improvement People finish our basement this fall and are very happy with the entire process. Elia was very helpful during the initial consultation, answering our questions and offering suggestions. He and Dan returned and helped with some final decisions before finalizing a reasonable price and time line. Once the work began, Rob kept us updated on progress and scheduling and he and Elia helped with decisions on some changes that had to be made to the project. During the job, Rob and Vato were here almost everyday and kept the job on schedule and an disruption and the dust to a minimum. All the Trades arrived as scheduled and were courteous and advised about and explained what they were going to do. We are very happy with our new basement that was completed on schedule.

This is our second review of The Home Improvement People. In the summer of 2015, Elia and Antonio arranged and executed our tremendous music studio in our basement. Our review can be found on Homestars also. This review is to comment on their excellent customer service and warranty terms. We lost power to two outlets/walls in the music studio last week. We texted Elia if he could ask one of the electricians to come and fix it and he was so generous with his scheduling that he was willing to come out on Christmas Eve to check it out for us. We opted for today, December 27 (a stressful time for all) and Robih came bright and early this morning (9:00a.m.). He brought all of his tools and went straight to work. Within 40 minutes he had diagnosed the issue (some loose wiring behind the electrical box), fixed the issue and did a thorough and complete check of all other electrical pieces in our entire basement. Very prompt, polite, kind and diligent. We are so thrilled that we chose The Home Improvement People in 2015. I can't think of any other company that would instantly return a text during the winter holidays, stay true to their warranty and fix an issue in less than a week of it being reported. Thank you very much!!!

My wife and I could not have been more pleased with the work completed by The Home Improvement People. Project manager Gerhard provided splendid service from start to finish and Haydee's administration of our account was professional and courteous. I'll have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family!

We are beyond thrilled. I think our water bill has gone up exponentially over the past few weeks because we've been taking the longest showers. We are so happy with our new bathroom. It's perfect. This was our first reno project and from the moment Eli walked into our house for an estimate we knew this was the team we wanted to work with. Eli was professional, up front, honest and friendly. He made sure to answer all of our questions (and trust me we had a lot). Eli walked us through the process from getting the deposit together to purchasing our finishes, tiles, vanity and checking in while the work was being done. He could be reached at anytime, answers any questions. Off to a good start... Then, day 1 of our reno, we met Jerry. Jerry is a one man team and trust me he doesn't need any help. The man knows what he's doing and it shows. He offered suggestions throughout the reno, and made sure that our bathroom went from great to amazing. He is skilled, professional, friendly and even loves dogs! It took 9 days to complete the bathroom and it was worth it. We will be calling them again for our next project and I recommend this team to anyone, especially if this is your first project and have no clue what to expect, they will walk you through every step. We selected Home Improvement People (HIP) originally on a few factors: firstly Elia was the one of the few contractors to arrive to quote us on the work at the arranged time, and then return with a quote. Secondly, the company has a high profile on radio, and we thought the reputation they had to maintain was as important to them as the quality and reliability of the work was to us. 5 years ago, we were not disappointed with the work. So naturally, it was no question we would call Elia again for this huge renovation. We called HIP in to help us fix up our house - there was minor work on the second floor, major reno on the main level and the basement. there are a few things that stand out in my mind: This was not an easy job, and as a homeowner, there was so much I wanted to do. Elia managed to reign us in at times, saying that we were being too ambitious for some things, and to wait for a future time to fix everything up. Boy, was he right. He listened to what we wanted, and offered practical solutions that were easier, and just as good. This reno was not easy. As we lifted floors, opened walls, etc, we discovered many, many problems created by previous homeowners. Lino and his crew were assigned to our job. Lino not only did what was requested, but offered solid advice on how to better complete the job than was originally planned. Lino is very careful in his work, and very diligent. He and his crew worked hard and worked neatly and professionally. Each day, Lino cleans up, and leaves the house neat and tidy. My neighbours have even commented that they cannot believe there was a contracted on our premises. When Lino suggested a solution for our basement flooring, I was skeptical, thinking it was overkill. But roll forward 2 months, a water leak from the main level, fear that our brand new basement would be damaged - and the work done by Lino saved us having to rip up the brand new floors! Lino is experienced in the work he does. He is very transparent with us, giving us options to resolve the little hiccups. He offers advice when we thinks we need it, and we really appreciate the effort he has made in our home. Lino and Junior have almost become members of the family! Charlotte has been wonderful in helping redesign our basement and kitchen. Her advice on flooring, cupboard layout, tiling, countertops and colours has been invaluable. Tom has built some shelving for us which was done really well, and I am excited to see what my kitchen will look like once he has installed our new cupboards. This job has not gone without its hiccups - in addition to finding issues with the sub floor, walls and other things that hold up a job, we had problems with the window installation, as well as the removal the kitchen cupboards and countertops to tile the kitchen. HIP and Elia really stepped up to the plate to resolve issues with the window contractors. The issues we had with the window installers is the true test for me of the value of Home Improvement People. The window installers messed up beyond belief, and were generally a disaster. Elia was on the problem immediately. He stepped in, resolved the window installation problems, with no issues. Looking at our windows, we would never know there was a problem. The resolution of the windows issue was handled very professionally. The contact price was not cheap, but with the contract price we have received a professional approach to our renovation. Everyone we have dealt with at home improvement people have been friendly, courteous, and professional. Problems have been resolved quickly and efficiently. Affordable solutions have been provided for the unexpected and unbudgeted hiccups. Where our ideas have been over the top, we have been reigned in, but where it made better sense to do something new, we were well accommodated. Thank you Elia, Lino, Charlotte and Tom for making my house a home I want to live in for the next 20 years!

It feels like we lost part of our family today...as we have recently completed our basement reno. Every person we dealt with (Eli (Home Improvement People are lucky to have you) , Rob the foreman , Abe the HVAC, Fabiano the carpenter, Ozzie the electrician, Paul the plumber, the drywallers) was professional, on time and matter of fact about all the options we had. I believe we might take The Home Improvement People title for the longest contract and this had everything to do with us...(Never once pressured us into any decisions and they could not have been more accommodating ) As this is our first house and reno we had 1000's of questions and of course changed our minds a number of times as the reno unfolded. Eli and every contractor took the time to listen to our concerns and explained all the pros and cons to each decision. With every change that came along with our reno, it was immediately followed up with a price and in the end it came in exactly as budgeted. we couldn't be happier with the final product and I will continue to recommend The Home Improvement People to anyone requiring work done on there house.
