We did a full main floor renovation and new kitchen, with Larry as the project manager. Larry was very available via phone and email, and was quick to respond to my many questions. The quality of workmanship was uniformly good, and any issues were resolved quickly. We did not stay in the house for the reno, which I would advise! I was very happy with the results, and the fact that the work was complete in line with the original estimate.

We gutted our entire main floor. Removed a wall. Put in a new kitchen, replaced all flooring, baseboards and sanded and stained our stairs to the upstairs. From start to finish things went smoothly. The designers were helpful, the work was done well and on time. We had a few hiccups along the way, but Larry kept things moving and tried to catch things up where possible. Since everyone was gone during the day when most of the work was being done, there were a few mis-communications. However, all mis-steps were quickly fixed or resolved to our satisfaction and Larry made an extra trip to our home so we could discuss the upcoming work. Overall, we are very happy with the work done on our main floor. We love our new space.

We engaged Home Improvement People Inc. to renovate our basement and were introduced to Mark A. who would be in charge of our home and the job for the scheduled 2 months. The basement reno went very well. Mark was extremely attentive to our home and walked us thru all decisions. We then decided to renovate the other 2 floors of the house, only if Mark was available. The same level of care and detail that was evident in the first job was present in the second. This was particularly important to us as we lived at the house during the renos. Mark and his team were awesome; discussing different options and also accommodating a few last minute changes we had. We are not sure if we would live thru renovations again, but if we do, we would definitely call Mark A. first!

We did a completed washroom renovation. Based on the reputation of the Home Improvement People, they did not disappoint. Everything that was agreed upon was clearly written in the contract. The payment schedule fair and reasonable. The workmen Chris, Andy and Harvey were very professional, friendly and trustworthy; and the job was done to the highest quality. Upon completion they followed up to ensure we were happy and that any issues that arose after were attended to. We will definitely be hiring the Home Improvement People for our next home renovation project. A stress-free renovation.

Elia came for the estimate and signature of the contract with all the work detailed. Although the work itself was not an easy job,( especially when you have to work in a limited space and deal with different issues like plumbing, electricity..), and reno lasts a little big longer than expected,the renovation was very well conducted & and professionally supervised by MIKE!. Marco and Harrold as well as Sam the elecrtician were very kind, clean and professional and did a very good job. They are probably not the cheapest on the market, but i guess you have to pay the price if you want quality job! Are we going to recommend Home improvement , Elia, Mike and his team: YES. Are we going to call them back if we have another big Renovation in the future: YES!

We had our basement finished through The Home Improvement People and we would highly recommend them. Dan (owner) gave us the initial quote... then we met Elia (the project manager) for our walk thru... and both men were professional, friendly and knowledgeable about answering our questions. And if they didn't know the answer, they offered to contact a specialist. In our case, it was some duct work that we hoped could be moved (it couldn't in the long run). The price they gave us was competitive with the 2 other quotes we received. Then when the work began, we met Chris Robinson, the contractor who finished our basement. Work began the beginning of May and we were told about 8 weeks for the job to be completed. Except for some door handles that we were waiting on, the basement was finished by the end of June, as promised. My husband, Tom, and I can't say enough good things about Chris and the work he did for us. We absolutely LOVE our new basement! And the kids and all their friends love it too (the reason we finished it as a play space for them). We never had an issue with the work that Chris did. He was very skilled in every phase of the job, framing, flooring, drywall, painting, etc. He built us a feature rock wall with a TV and fireplace that is the best part of the whole basement! Chris was a pleasure to have in our home every day. He was great with our kids and our dogs. We almost didn't want our basement to be finished because then we wouldn't see Chris every day! :) Thanks Chris, Elia and Dan and all the trades that helped finish our basement. We love it and are so happy we chose The Home Improvement People.

After spending hours searching for a reputable contractor for our home renovation, the last thing we wanted to do was having a bad experience and shell out more money than what we had in our budget. I did my research and interviewed a few contractors, and the impression I had with Home Improvement People stood out the most for me. Dan explained all the details up front and provided a quote that evening after our initial meeting. The renovation was on time from start to the end. Mark and his crew were professional on the job, informative and were able to provide handy tips. The finished basement turned out BEAUTIFUL. I cannot say enough good things – great team, friendly, on schedule, cost effective…it is amazing. I am very happy with the whole experience, and I would definitely recommend Home Improvement People to others, and would hire their team again for any future renovations.

Renos are always stressful, however Mien and Manuel were wonderful in doing everything humanly possible to reduce the mess and upheaval caused by a reno to a bathroom in a condo. They were punctual, unfailingly polite and respectful and their skills and attention to detail resulted in a bathroom which we are thrilled with. I look forward to my next reno with The Home Improvement People!

I am one very, very tough customer. Perfectionist would be a severe understatement. I have also finished my own basement twice btw. If you are serious about finishing your basement and expect the best with exceptional service at a reasonable price, don't waste your time looking any further. I researched and met with several contractors. Dan immediately stood out as being extraordinarily professional. Then Chris arrived to deliver on the commitments. In one word the delivery was nothing short of STUNNING every single step of the way!!! He showed up on time every day and worked all day. He took old school pride in his work. He was courteous without fault. I threw the odd curve ball/adjustment and they were flexible. I simply cannot say enough.... They have my number. If you want to see my basement, I will take the time to show you what an incredible job they did, because they deserve it. I will never hire anyone else for home improvements ever - period. A+++!

We are incredibly happy with the work done by The Home Improvement People and the level of customer service provided by Caio Freitas. The bathroom in our small, 100-year-old, East York home was in desperate need of a major renovation but, being the only bathroom in the house, we were concerned about the inconvenience that a big reno would cause. Having the work done while we were away on vacation was a solution, but meant finding a company that we could trust to take care of everything while we were away. Caio took care of it. He helped us brainstorm and plan, told us just what we needed to know, worked within our tight time frame and set us at ease. He is very knowledgeable, professional and a really nice guy. Very early on a (Saturday!) morning we handed Caio the key and his team began putting up protective plastic as we drove away to the airport... The following Saturday we arrived home, not knowing what state our home might be in. We could not have been more pleased and relieved. In one week, the bathroom had been completely reconfigured; plumbing, tiles, flooring, electrical, painting... all very well done. The house had been cleaned and mopped, even pictures hung back up on the wall. Shortly thereafter, custom glass was expertly installed around the shower. We love our new bathroom. We would not hesitate to recommend The Home Improvement People and will be contacting Caio for our future renovations. Joe and Jessica, East York
