Unbelievably fast, meticulous, and great to work with. Loved Gerhard's crew including, Nuco and Kyle. (Gerhard - the contractor, was terrific.) I had one full bathroom renovation with new shower, vanity, floors, toilet, electrical..,, powder room renovation with new toilet, sink, floor.. and then an extra toilet and tub installed in third bath. With all that and painting, removing two cast iron tubs and many other extras - all done in seven days and left clean and perfect. Cannot recommend him highly enough. Had to restrain myself from hugging them when they left. Be advised that they do require you to have all the materials at site when they start. The price does not include materials.

We downsized from a home to a large, older downtown Toronto condominium which needed to be completely updated. Having hired Home Improvement People last January to remodel two bathrooms, we called upon them again for this much larger project. This vote of confidence was based on our satisfaction with their workmanship and time-sensitivity: they did the bathrooms in less than two weeks. On this project, we asked Ben for a quote based on our vision of the project. The price was fair and he was prepared to finish the project within our time frame. Ben assigned Larry Maher to project-manage the renovation. Unlike a home renovation, remodelling a condo requires a lot more orchestration of crews: they could only work from 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Debris had to be hauled down the hallway and through an elevator. It is time-consuming. Larry's team of demolition crews, dry wallers, plumbers, electricians, and painters were excellent. We gutted a 1900 square foot area and needed a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, flooring--the works. This was all done in less than seven weeks. My wife was in touch with Larry all the time and there were no major surprises. Larry's crews worked well together and knew their trades. I had the confidence of knowing that this project would not turn out badly as so often happens to many people (I know, because as a consumer reporter at a television network I see the complaints all the time). The work performed was done exceptionally well. We were treated with respect as clients. When some small issues came up, as is normal in a renovation of the size, Larry and his team managed to resolve them with us. That's the test of a company--how well they perform in a pinch. I have recommended this company to my friends and colleagues based on how we were treated previously and I have no hesitation recommending them again.

I don't have anything negative to say about the experience I had with Home Improvement People. Selection stage easy - compared to the other 2 companies we interviewed. Ben was the most knowledgeable & experienced in Bathroom + other renovations . The price was competitive and considering the end result well worth it based on the quality & professionalism received. The Kris and the crew were amazing! Prompt (if they said their we coming at a certain time they were there) Responsive & Knowledgeable (We had several questions regarding the set up to support or aging mother which Kris answered quickly) Professional ( very respectful - no coarse language or arguments between workers, non-smoking) and the Workmanship is excellent . I will definitely reach out to HIP for future work and recommend them to family and friends.

We hired The Home Improvement People to convert our laundry room into a pantry off our kitchen, and to build a new laundry room in our basement. We were very happy with the entire process. They were professional, organized and their workmanship was excellent. Their final price did not deviate from their initial quote, other than a few extras that we requested. Their project manager, Larry, was a real gentleman and pleasure to deal with. They created virtual drawings for us so we could envision the new spaces and really helped us along the entire way. I have no issue recommending them whatsoever. In fact, we just hired them to start a main floor reno in the new year and will let you know how that goes.

We moved into a 95 year old semi-detached home 18 months ago with the clear knowledge that the kitchen was in desperate need of renovation. Not just a bit of paint and new counters, but a full tear down, including the moving of plumbing, structure and electrical. We are both project managers in our work lives and brought the full force of these skills to this project, researching over a dozen contractors and interviewing four. Like you, we dove into the reno shows on TV, read everything we could, did estimates, considered designs and did what ever it took to feel like we could sleep at night to go through this. We narrowed our choices to two, but the Home Improvement People offered a level of quality that was far and away superior, and the end result is testament to that. Not only do we have a beautiful kitchen with exquisitely installed custom cabinets that reach to the ceiling, we also know that what's behind the walls is just as well done. Make no mistake, issues arose. And when they did, the information given us was clear, the options and costs for resolution laid out, and then the problem was addressed and solved. Many characteristics set this company apart from others. From our perspective, their vast experience in a range of projects (and the issues within) contributed to important input on our original vision and design. Also, the day-to-day progress and coordination of the trades rivals that of the D-Day invasion. On the date we were told work would begin, the door bell rang at 8:00am and our first wall was down before the coffee was cold. Every night, the sight was clear and debris removed. The site manager was never more than a phone call away to address our questions (and constant fears). Today, our beautiful kitchen is what all kitchens should be, the heart of the home and one that withstands even the closest inspection. From the impeccably installed cabinets in a room without a single straight wall, the perfectly centred floor tiles, to the perfectly cut corners of the countertops and the paint on the walls. Bottom line... this company exceeded our every expectation. They tell you what can be done (and what shouldn't) They tell you the price. They address issues as they arise. The service is excellent. The results surpass all others for quality and workmanship. Ben, Larry, we can't thank you enough. We offer our highest recommendation.

We have a 4-piece bathroom, 40 years out of date and suffering from humidity damage. Jerry, as a one-man crew, came in took it back to the studs, built it back out with all new tiles and fixtures, relocated outlets and added an exhaust fan. Great results, on time, and as quoted.

What an amazing experience! I must tell you that from the moment I spoke to Danny (owner) my renovation has been exceptional. His suggestions and advice helped my wife and I finalize our plans. In addition, his tradesmen are efficient, skilled and polite. The project manager answers my calls any time of the day or night. Every timeline they have told me has been met without fail, I highly recommend the Home Improvement People for you next renovation.

The HIP did a great job in our basement. They worked fast but with quality and they didn't hasitate to carry out of the small details required during the job. They were close and friendly; I'm really happy with the overall service provided.

The Home Improvement People was my top choice and honestly, a dream to work with because they are truly professional, offered everything under one roof and finished my 100 year old grandmothers entire bathroom remodel with stellar service and installation in two weeks. Other contractors / tradesmen we interviewed made quotations and never showed up or committed to / delayed the project. But the Home Improvement People offered multiple expert trades and were large enough to have all the resources to finish the project the right way, on time and on budget. This most certainly helped to keep Granny’s stress levels down to a minimum. Throughout the project, without even asking, they went the extra mile to help keep the place completely clean and tidy! The Homestars reviews of Home Improvement People were spot on - they are a great team to work with. The estimate process was straight-forward, thanks to Ben and the easy form they use, and the only changes to the contracted cost were for additional work we requested. Larry, the project manager, was really good at going with the flow when we asked for other things to be done or made revisions. He was pleasant, easy to access, prompt to return calls or voicemail and always punctual! Larry came to the site, especially when requested, but regularly scheduled visits would have been of benefit to identify and communicate to us any glitches (which always happen during any reno), rather than us finding some of them. Any concern we did have though was immediately addressed. The tradespeople were friendly and helpful and took care to ensure that our preferences were met. The master bathroom and other work was finished in good time and look fantastic! I would be happy to recommend The Home Improvement People and would call on Larry and the team for any future renos.
